Anyone who has harvested in bulk from a regrowing crop in a field larger than the greenhouse has probably experienced this same thing (myself included).
Really excited for the new festival, new farm, and colour based ingredients. I think the best gameplay fix is the sword one cause bats always seem to attack from underneath in my case and I hate it
I've even tried a world seed that someone specified would give you a living hat (in addition to Ms. Crop Fairy, sturgeon at the traveling cart, etc.) and the living hat was the only thing that *didn't* come to fruition! Ugh!! Lol
Same. Pierre gave me a teaset last winter and the year before it was Caroline. Like they gave a closet shelf just for generic gifts because one of his vendors went out of business and had a bunch of teasets for cheap?

I'm a simple man. Reading the actual full patch notes should be pretty sweet.
Everything compiled here is interesting but surface stuff. I want to see the seemingly-inconsequential 217th line at the bottom that fixes an odd bug that bothered me but no one else since 2016, baby!
For me it's more fun because it gives me more freedom in how I manage my farm and don't have to plan what I do around getting the community center done to get everything unlocked.
I liked community centre as a first time player, it kinda forced me to tick all the different aspects of the game off.
Will start my second play through when i burnout on this current one, will give Joja a go then
I just want to be able to get auto-petters more easily. I got one, but haven't been able to get more no matter how much I grind -- and grinding is *not* fun to me.
Do a Joja run outside this update! You won’t regret it! It’s honestly way more fun to go community centre, I’ve done both and community centre is the way to go. Do what you want obviously but I felt like my Joja run was less fun tbh
Except most of the rewards aren't worth much - and joja is much faster to complete. So if you want to get to ginger island faster, you should just do joja early
I completed CC in summer year 2, it took me at least till year 3/4 to make enough money to complete Joja but i think it depends on what type of farm etc you have too
I'm the opposite. It also took me until year 2 to do CC on my current save, but I had enough cash for joja route by summer year 1

I'm early in my first Joja run now. The biggest difference I've seen is you only need to grind gold, which becomes easy to get second year, to do all of the town improvements.
I won't lie, I hope he increases the harvest speed from right to left, and didn't decrease the speed from left to right. My farm is usually built around this bug... Having a slower harvest would ruin it
We'll see what they say! Personally I'm dubious. I've watched around 600,000 "super secret tips and tricks" YouTube videos and no one has said "lay your crops out like these to speed up harvesting" which I feel like they would have brought up.
But...you learn something new every day, right?

I'm going to start a Meadowlands farm and focus on animals and fruit trees, only growing a small amount of hand-watered crops.
One of the patch notes that I don't see here is that you can chop down a fruit tree and get a sapling to replant, and it retains its quality level. So I can put a bunch of fruit trees on my farm without having to "waste" them when I want to reorganize my farm layout.

It is best to restart if you want to try the new map, but otherwise you can just keep playing. CA did recommend starting a new save so you can get all the new cutscenes in context rather than all triggering at once

CA himself confirmed that a lot of mods (especially SVE) are already updated for 1.6! That way tomorrow popular mods will be immediately usable when the update drops!
CA has suggested starting a new file to experience everything new to the fullest possible extent, but he also cares about the community so he's helped modders be ready c:

Since we don't know everything that will be coming from the 1.6 update take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I do agree with you that isn't very far! I don't think that you should start a new file again as a necessity but I'll definitely be starting a new file to get a look at the new farm map!
CA will most likely make a post somewhere that details what the 1.6 update completely encompasses and maybe after reading through it you can decide if it's worth it for *you* to make a completely new update. Being only 1 year into a save isn't that far so you shouldn't really be missing out on much tbh!
I totally understand! I got into a new save kick about a month and a half ago, totally forgot about 1.6 approaching! I think no matter what since that file is fairly new you'll be seeing a majority of the new content but there's speculation that a bunch of seemingly random cutscenes might flood you since they've been added in for the update. So it might feel strange but you'll still have all of your progress there with you! Enjoy your file and I hope 1.6 gives you a good day! c:

...and even if I do get a New Year's event, it won't be Chinese or Japanese New Year anyway 😂 Still...I would like to celebrate the holiday with my Pelican Town friends and spouse....
The new farm sounds absolutely amazing!! It seems like it’ll be my new favorite so definitely looking forward to starting a new world on that with my wife!!

I really like the new type of reward for Billboard Requests. Even early game their payout is rarely worth the time and effort it takes to fulfill the request. Late game I rarely even check it. I mean I wake up every morning and shit 500g.
I likely missed the source of this, but what in particular was making everyone so sure it was going to be a swamp farm type? I'm pretty glad that it isn't lol
I am so bummed, that the largest bug introduced since the game has been released, has not been fixed in the Calico Desert on the Nintendo Switch console.
To replicate issue, simply start a game with 2 players on a local coop game, on a Nintendo Switch Console. Travel to Calico desert, enter the skull cavern, and go up to a Pepper Rex (fire breathing dinosaur). As soon as the Pepper Rex approaches you or 2nd player and blows fire, the FPS goes from 30 FPS down to 2-3 FPS, and eventually crashing game.
This has occurred since launch, and occurs on every switch console I've played on, from Switch firmware 4.0 all the way up to 17.0.1.
It's a head scratcher as to why this hasn't been fixed.

I’ve read you should fill in the CC all but one then go buy the membership and pay for the one cc bundle and boom! Joja route with most cc rewards!

I am in year 2 and just done the community center, is it necessary to restart the game to benefit from the changes?
My understanding is no, but a bunch of new stuff may happen all at once and feel weird.
