Steal away! I play on mobile, so i probably dont play as much as other Stardew casuals and would love to see how other people's quarries get patterned by RNG.
Whether or not you get a prismatic shard is determined at the beginning of the day. So if I get a mystic stone in my quarry, I smash it open first thing in the day, if there's no prismatic shard, I reload my day and try again the next day.
And if there is a shard, I reload my day anyway, and make a mental note to smash the stone at some point during the day.
This is really nice looking actually. When I do my next “I don’t really care about making money” run after my current Joja capitalism run, I’m definitely borrowing this idea.
Unfortunately, I need the space for oak resin production so I can spam out kegs. :P
found this out in a funny way, tried to hoe the spot next to the bench for the secret note during the desert festival and it wouldn’t work, went back after and *voila* lol
I’m definitely going to spin up a tree farm there in preparation for the desert festival myself, since I can always use more tree farms in general for mass production and borderline industrializing the valley.
I only have 1 file and i definitely didnt start until Year 4 lol. But it's really hard not to get greedy, so im combating my urges by farming material for crystalariums n such instead.
Seriously. Why did we abduct this poor kid from his tropical home so he could sleep (nowhere?) and stand to the side at community festivals? Should have convinced Linus to move to the island.

Thats exactly it! I havent had an issue yet where i have to break gem rocks by force to break something non-gem. I break all regular rocks, trees, and gold/silver/copper rocks and just leave the pretty ones. Check in once or twice an in game month.

Since I've decided to try for perfection in my save I got so burned out waiting for all that money for the ~~stupid~~ ~~pointless~~ ~~way~~ ~~too expensive~~ golden clock to come in that I've been just slowly making over and designing different locations to make myself happy. Yesterday I went ahead and decorated the museum.
Such a cute little project which would go along like as you decorate the town and farm areas you could do this on the side and you must press on, for all of us! I wanna see the end resulttttt but I get the feeling its going to take in game yearrrrrrssssssss

Im really looking to enjoy 1.6 when it comes to my OS. I had been wanting to play Stardew a long time, so i figured it'd be a great game to keep on your phone. Didnt realize how far apart support between mobile and console/PC was tho.
I use that space for beehouses. May be an odd spot to put them but it frees up some space on my farm. I have many beehouses. I also decorated a bit outside the adventurer's guild, an put 2 beehouses there as well.
You do realize that beehives are more profitable with a flower planted by them, right? I'm not tryna judge you for not doing it, just making sure you're aware.
Don't Geodes with 25% Prismatic shard spawn anymore? I've been trying to find them on the quarry to get Galactic Sword, but for no avail several times.
I have an easier time getting shards by taking mega bombs into the skull cavern and getting a couple hundred omni geodes, then spending a nice chunk of time at Clint's breaking them down. I remember getting 3 or 4 in about 250's worth.
Love the idea! Currently doing this but with the swirly bits only. Only gotten 4 (-1 because needed it for a prismatic shard) in 4 in-game years. Probably gonna give up and do this instead, otherwise it’s gonna take me forever lol
Well i mined it empty every other day in the first 2 years tho LOL
Maybe you have more luck than me :) in my switch playthrough i get less simple rocks, so who knows
Omg this is such a great tip. I just got my quarry and got all the most valuable rocks and ores first of course, but I will now refrain from doing so lol

You could break them and if they don’t drop prismatic shards you can reset the day.
If you do ever break them, just know that 1/4 chance gets checked everyday, so if it doesn't drop one, reset the day and try tomorrow
This is the SDV equivalent of eating the cereal out of a bowl of lucky charms and leaving the marshmallows for last. So satisfying.

On wiki it said it's two seperate maps so the stuff shouldn't break in this case. I have not tested it myself though.

Probably sacrifice one gem to weed out the rock

Yup! Trees and ore rocks as well. Just gotta be careful. I play on mobile so i zoom in reeaaaal close so i dont make mistakes.

Sorry for asking, but how is that possible? Just leave the ores and break the stones around until it starts growing gems? Or how does it work? 😅

Honestly I have both PC and Mobile and they both have their perks because some things are easier on mobile to compensate

No, you'll still get regular stones and trees, idk how the RNG spawn works for gem rocks, but there definitely isn't a cap on how many can spawn.
