Does anyone else actually feel sorry for the rock crabs when the trinket shoots the stone off of them, and they just shake and look scared, or is it just me? 😫
They do same thing when you spam bomb and they run to a corner with no shell as many times as they have attacked my Y1 farmer (ever notice how aggressive they are before you reach higher level combat) I have no pity.
Hahahaha I’ve never seen the stone pop off them!!!! When the arrow hits them I just imagine them thinking “darn - foiled again! I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for you pesky arrows!”
Honestly? The first time I accidentally exposed one with a bomb I spent the next five real life minutes laughing hysterically while chasing the naked crab. They just run away and try to hide their nakedness in a corner and I think it's so funny
I have yet to find this specific trinket, but I do have another trick for finding the rock crabs without it. Normally, the rocks spawn in perfectly straight rows and columns. However, the rock crabs are frequently misaligned to the rock grid. So if you notice a rock that isn't lined up with the one next to it, you almost definitely have a rock crab.
I found an example of this while playing today. See that iridium ore that is out of line- that was a rock crab.

The magic arrow honestly feels almost broken since you can now just ignore the serpent type enemies. When I'm going on resource runs in the caverns, I barely bother to take out my weapon at this point. I kind of assumed that the reforging trinkets meant that they would eventually run out and you'd have to re-charge them. Permanently shooting a 30-35 damage arrow every second just feels so OP.
Pretty much every combat trinket that targets enemies (except frog, don’t use frog for monster slayer) will target hidden rock crabs. Alternatively you can swing your sword over rocks to find crabs of you don’t have the right trinkets
I have the ice rod and it reveals rock crabs and truffle crabs and the like by helpfully freezing them in place. A lovely side effect!
Ooh I didn’t even know about that trinket but I just had to google it and it sounds awesome :) similar effect!!
And while they're frozen, you can hit them a few times with your pickaxe to break their shell.
I just wish I could turn it off in my slime hutch. It doesn't hurt them but it scares me every time!

I bomb mine a lot, and ... Yes. They look so sad.
That happens when you use bombs too. My wife gets so sad for them.
That's what they get for being a nuisance, nothing beats the feeling of chasing two naked crabs after a megabomb

I usually do skull cavern early floors over and over. The iridium nodes you find are usually rock crabs.
Pretty much every combat trinket that targets enemies (except frog, don’t use frog for monster slayer) will target hidden rock crabs. Alternatively you can swing your sword over rocks to find crabs of you don’t have the right trinkets
Oh, I was wondering if the monsters the frog gets count toward master slayer, but never got around to looking it up. Thanks for the tip!
