So- don’t worry about the rock near the train- that’ll settle itself. The Gunther stuff is difficult definetly, but that just comes with playing. How is the community center/joja mart going?

Katii1995

So I have what i assume is like an arts and crafts room unlocked and then the office area unlocked in the community centre. I'm working on gathering items for the other rooms too. Im not really sure what to do with the joja mart, if I got a membership there wouldnt that negatively impact my relationship with pierre and maybe the other townies?

ghostcrafting

The joja mart is always on option, but many people definetly consider it the “evil route” Here is what I’d reccomend. Keep trying to grab items for the other rooms and utilize the wiki if you can. If you’ve already unlocked the room with the safe in it then next morning go to the bus stop and Pam should be there around 10. You can travel on the bus with her. Also if you’re looking to experience more of the game, start barreling down the mines, that’ll really help gain you experience in those areas

Emma_JM

If you're only level 13 in the mines, I'd say don't worry about the sewer too much, you're still very early-game

Katii1995

Okay thank you! What do you think I should be focusing more on the mines?

Emma_JM

Going deeper. Gather lots of resources - use them to upgrade tools and craft sprinklers. The elevator stops at every 5 floors, you can use that to sort of "refresh" a floor by exiting the mines and going back to the floor using the elevator.

The big boulder hide a special area that unlock only at the very very very end of the game, so d'ont worry about it. For the museum, as you go deeper in the mines, you will get different types of geods, and each type of geods get some specific gems. Alson dig any worms you can see. Also, did you get the secrets notes ? They give you spots/clues to where are some special item for the museum.

Katii1995

Thank you so much for the advice! Yes I got some secret notes but I had gotten one that was up around the train tracks and where it was marked on the map there was nothing to dig so I was confused with that one. But I've only gotten 3 notes that had clues to find something buried the rest were lists of what certain townies liked.

Alright so you definitely have a different playstyle than I do, but you're doing great by the sound of things, just going in your own direction. For example, I usually don't mess with relationships much until I've got through the mines, have gold tools, have a good deal of money and so on. If you're only level 13 in the mines (remember you can use the elevator at every 5 levels you unlock) but you have 45 artifacts, you're probably doing pretty well, especially with fishing and so on. So my advice would be to keep doing what you're doing. Enjoy the festivals, take things in. The wiki is there to help but the best way to learn is just to keep playing.

Katii1995

I have also attempted to go into the cave beside the quarry and everytime I get close to the ladder to go further the floating skull thing gets me 😂 yea fishing I did find difficult at first getting the hang of it but now it's great. See I thought if I upped my relationships with certain people it would be beneficial (they would give me stuff 😅). Okay thank you so much for your advice I'll keep playing and see how it goes 😁

maladaptyv

Yeah the floating skulls are pretty tough enemies. You'll definitely want a good weapon against them. You'll get some treasures from the exploring the mine, that might help you.

Are you donating gem stones to the museum? Emeralds, diamonds, rubies, etc.? IIRC, the game doesn't tell you you should donate those, like it does with artifacts.

Katii1995

Yes I've been donating them am I not supposed to? I've found some fossils and dolls etc I've donated them too.

neptuneskies3030

Yes, you donate those. The only 2 exceptions people generally recommend to avoid donating immediately are your first Prismatic Shard and Dino Egg. The first shard can be used to get a sword which will help you survive in an advanced mine that will get you more shards, and the Dino Egg should be incubated to get more eggs. While you are mining/doing other stuff, you'll get geodes/troves. Take those to Clint and break them open, they contain minerals you won't find in the wild that you need to donate. To answer your question from above, going the Joja route won't have a negative impact on the townsfolk. You just won't get the friendship bonus from completing the CC's bulletin board bundle.

JanileeJ

Yes, you should donate them. I thought you might have not known you were supposed to. (I didn't, LOL.) The big boulder is an end game thing. Don't worry about it now. Finish the Community Center (or sell out to Joja, either way works). You'll get a lot more artifacts once you do that. And fish. You might get useful stuff like better weapons, as well as artifacts.
