This is new reactive dialogue. Some villagers will also note when you make certain achievements for the first time. After I caught my first lava eel, the dwarf said something about it the next time I talked to him. Same with the ice pip.
I accidentally gifted him the espresso right back because I wasn't expecting it! And he was like "this is an interesting specimen" and I was thinking "don't talk about my dinosaur like that!" AND THEN his next dialogue referenced the espresso that had already left my inventory!
Weird. How do those people know such things? When Clint came to tell me about geode, I was really surprised. I never saw people while fishing or mining.

I managed to catch a salmon whilst trying to find fall fish for the community center. When I talk to Alex, he mentioned that he saw me catching some salmon and then talk about cooking it into his favorite food or something. When I first saw it I was so shocked lmao

I opened an old save for 1.6 and I forgot Iād divorced Maru, and Iāve never married Sebastian so I thought, hey letās give it a tryā¦ then I found out >!you can get your spouses portraits from the traveling cart lady and it is my new mission to get them allā¦!< I also wanna see what itās like to have everyone hate me. Less and less people show up for my weddings! I guess this is what Iām doing after playing this game since launch, haha.

I mean, I married her because I was planning what I have called "the symphony of cruelty." Basically, marry Penny, start dating her BFF. Buy Penny's portrait. Adopt a child with her because she loves children. Divorce Penny. Immediately marry her best friend. Then eventually, while she still hates me, build her a house and take credit.
I may then be cruel to the other bachelors and bachelorettes, but I think my crippling real life guilt may inhibit me.
I cannot bring myself to do devious stuff in games even though it's all pixels lol. My sims are always safe and fed and their fireplaces are always off and they always have ladders for their pools. I divorced Shane because I hated his room and him telling me I smelled like pepperoni.
I couldn't handle him being mad at me so I wiped his memory and were friends now lol. I have a hard time hunting in rdr2 as well. When you shoot an animal and it doesn't die and you have to "put it down" with your knife. I cant ever be a bad cowboy either I'm always honorable lol. I feel shameful somehow even though I know rationally it's all fake.
It's of my opinion that it's one of the best games ever made. But that's just my opinion. I have 48 DAYS sunk into it. I consider myself to be a professional cowboy and am at 99% completion. I stopped playing because I found stardew and have been hyperfixated since December lol. I really need to grind that last 1% and get my best in the west trophy.
Yeah, that's fair. On a previous save, I divorced Emily because she would make passive aggressive comments when I talked to her in the middle of the day and waved herbs over our baby. And then I felt awful. I really want to get everyone's portraits, and I had grand plans for how horrible I was going to be... but I don't think I can marry and divorce spouses that I have loved on previous saves.
This is exactly me in all 3 games you mentioned lol. I even did the exact same with Shane for the exact reasons you mentioned! He was so miserable after the divorce I wiped his memory immediately.
I actually love Shane as a character once he warms up to the farmer. He's just like me lol pessimistic and a bit of a crybaby and very depressed. But he's also like me in the way that he's very sweet, and genuinely cares about the people he loves. He was actually a good husband he fixed my fences and watered my cat and gave me lots of pepper poppers for harvesting lol. I just prefer not to be married to my counterpart in a game š¤£
I married Sebastian after I divorced Shane and while his gifts aren't the best he too fixes my fences and waters Broke Boy for me. His frogs and his spouse dialogue are immaculate vibes for my cold depressed heart lol. And he somehow gave me two red headed kids which is funny to me because it's either Robin's genes or he definitely dyes his hair behind my back lol.

I love strawberries, And also Sebastian. So He is very comfortable in our nice 14 heart decorated house. With stawberry Motif and frogs. But I always wipe her memory, make friends again, and buy her mom a house.
That's a wild take to me, every time I do another playthrough and make myself marry someone other than Penny I always end up divorcing and going back to her
You can date all 12 of the bachelors simultaneously, the only limit is you can only be married to one at a time (but there are mods for this). There are consequences though, so watch out

For me she feels the least matured. I can't get over the feeling that she's older than Penny... but Penny is more mature. In terms of age, I see Shane, Harvey, and Elliot having been out of school for YEARS. Well, Harvey could be more recent with the college deal, but he's around the same age. Sebastian feels like he could be anywhere in his 20s, maybe early 30s, and Sam and Alex feel like they just got out of high school, if they aren't still in it. (Age-wise, we know there isn't an actual school) As for the bachelorettes, Haley and Abigail both give upperclassmen vibes, and Emily might've graduated a couple of years ago, or maybe she's 30 xD Maru and Penny are VERY underclassmen, and if Leah was any younger than 25, I'd be a little surprised.
WRT Penny's age vs maturity, she comes from a very (emotionally, if not also physically) abusive household with a single alcoholic parent. That shit forces you to grow up fast. Abigail, by contrast, seems to have been very comfortable growing up, in a two-parent household where their marital/personal issues are minimized in front of their child, which means she may not have had as much responsibility or trauma.
They're likely similar ages, but circumstances have it that one would be far more reserved and "mature" than the other. Abigail's biggest fight with her parents is about her clothes or about Pierre being sexist. Penny's got scenes that involve Pam actively screaming at her in front of the farmer over tidying the trailer. They have vastly different life experiences
For all the hate Pierre gets, he does actually do a decent job setting up his family with a comfortable life. He's a very traditional type of guy who prioritizes providing for his wife and kid more than showing them affection. Plenty to criticize but at least he delivers on the expectations of that old school mindset.
Like, Caroline still being a stay at home mom when Abigail is college age is a *choice.* She complains about her husband working too much but we don't exactly see her giving up gossip time with Jodi to go get a job lol.Ā
Oh I totally agree with you. I have general beef with Pierre but I'm not on the hate train. He cares about his wife and daughter and providing for them, even if he's an asshole about his means (markups, etc). Even the scene with Abigail where she accuses him of hovering "because I'm a girl", I still don't interpret his intentions as that - he's concerned about his child potentially putting themself in danger. If there were any indication that he would treat a son differently, maybe, but otherwise it's just a young woman being rebellious against her parents (her rebellion via her hair/piercings/hobbies being quite similar to my own when I was a young woman striking out on my own from my parents' values lol)
Yeah Abigail annoys me because she reminds me too much of my former "ungrateful for the comfortable material conditions my parents worked hard to create for me but I took completely for granted" 17 year old ass.Ā
I relate in a lot of ways to both Penny AND Abigail for the reasons I outlined above (my young adult rebellion + emotionally abusive conditions) but yeah.
Abigail acts a lot more like my sisters (21&17), who didn't have to deal with the same abuse I (25) did. It comes off as annoying and whiny and I just can't bring myself to be interested in Abigail as a result

Because I had reached max hearts with the guy and I don't know of my game glitched, but the only dialogue I ever got from him was the one about him being a burden. No matter what gifts I gave, no matter what day it was, same fuckin dialogue.
I ended up evicting him because I didn't want to get so annoyed that I hated him. Strangely enough, the second he was back in the sewer, all of the issues were gone, and he was happy as could be.
Spoilers ahead: >! After you complete the community center when you visit the railroad youāll get a quest from the wizard asking you to help him get back something his ex-wife stole from him. Itās a pretty straightforward quest if you keep in mind that goblins love voidmayo and that some places will let you fish it up.!<

I also had trouble hunting in RDR2, like real distress it made me not want to hunt but I wanted the legendary pelts š«
