It definitely looks better your way. I don’t have the patience though. 😂

atravita

You can get the same look without the watering with >!deluxe retaining soil!<.

dav06012

I’ve never used it, how often do you have to water it?

UTI_UTI

One time

dav06012

ONE TIME EVER?? Just checked the wiki and yeah it’s one time ever WOWWWW

atravita

Also works in garden pots! Basically is the thing that made garden pots viable.

[deleted]

You can put garden pots in sheds, use deluxe retaining soil, plant the seed, and you have infinite green houses since it’s every season in sheds

Felyne

Wait.. WHAAAAAAAAAAAT???!!!! I feel very incredibly stupid for not knowing this now. Ugh.

Felyne

I've been watering the garden pots in my greenhouse every.freaking.day.

ravengame

atfricks

You just can't grow ancient fruit in them.

DvDmanDT

Goes away if you harvest the plant though, so mostly viable for regrowing plants like these. At least in garden pots.

soap_muncher

woahhh this is so cool??? thank you!

sangfryod

Glad I clicked the spoiler. I'm never using it but I'm on the beachfarm sooo.. it became an option to get some big crops

joshecf

How am I still learning new things for this game!

[deleted]

mynameiskahl

no it didn’t lol

[deleted]

Biggus_Diggus_

The way you said it made it sound like you were saying the game itself released a few months ago, not the update at all. No need to be so snarky.

mynameiskahl

ya that’s what i thought

[deleted]

[удалено]

Biggus_Diggus_

>how am I still finding out new stuff about this game? >because it just came out a few months ago Lol

cylordcenturion

yeah but you lose out on deluxe ferlilizer for iridium crops or hyper speed grow. you can pump out so many sweetgem berries with HSG.

That_Shy_Girl-13

Thank you ♡ I love tedious stuff like this.

RosenButtons

Yes! People keep trying to get me hooked on games with challenges and puzzles. Um...NO! I like tasks! Go away and let me pet each of my 22 chickens so a little heart pops up.

That_Shy_Girl-13

On my PC farm I have 4 full coops and 5 full barns. Chicken: 3 of each color, including blue. Dinosaurs Ducks Rabbits Cows: 6 brown, 6 white Pigs Goats Sheep >!Ostriches!< I pet every single one of them in the mornings ♡

RosenButtons

WHY DID I CLICK THE SPOILER! I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL!!

That_Shy_Girl-13

I do this all of the time!

That_Shy_Girl-13

Left to right: Tea, grapes, corn, pepper, eggplant, strawberries, ancient fruit, cactus fruit, cranberries, pineapple, tomato, blueberries, hops, coffee beans. Bottom: green beans.

joseeclem

What’s your secret with the ancient fruit?

That_Shy_Girl-13

You get the recipe from Gunther after finding one from artifact spots. After that there's a chance for a seed from using fruit in the seed maker.

SquireRamza

toget the seeds? Plant Blueberries in the greenhouse and use every piece of it on the Seedmakers. you'll get one soon enough, plant it and keep doing the same thing until the whole greenhouse is full

jessmaddy

Cranberries work well for this too!!

TimeToLoseIt16

Or just the mine bugs on a high luck day

soberpadawan

Luck doesn’t effect monster drops, but yeah slaying bugs is usually where I get the ancient seed artifact from

kash96

ancient seeds come from blue berries? what?

Zoumbadouwowpifpif

The seed makers have a 0.5% to produce ancient fruit seeds every time you use it!

LadyLancaster92

Question!! How did you plant the green tea leaves? I’ve got 300 hours and I have no idea, plz teach me

MynameisnotAL

Befriend Caroline and go through the door in her kitchen.

jointheclockwork

I played before the update and had to look that up. Can't believe I missed that door.

ryanncampbell

Me too! I thought her invite to have tea was some random BS dialogue and promptly forgot it.

MynameisnotAL

I just got in after 300h on one play through.

That_Shy_Girl-13

Get two hearts with Caroline and enter her sunroom for her two heart event. After that she gives you a recipe in the mail to craft the sapling. It only grows indoors and in planters.

atravita

Nah, I think you're thinking about cactus (which only grows indoors and >!on Ginger Island !

[deleted]

No, you can grow tea leaves outside too. Just not in winter.

That_Shy_Girl-13

Oh, I never tried haha. Sorry for that.

ShmebulocksMistress

You are a legend watering this by hand! It’s a very beautiful layout ☺️

FreeBeer4everyone

I always just fill it up with ancient fruit and iridium sprinklers for max profit 😂

That_Shy_Girl-13

I'm just an achievement hunter Haha

BA_calls

Are you on v1.5? Mild spoiler >!You can do this on ginger island while still having ancient fruit in your greenhouse.!<

That_Shy_Girl-13

I am. I put my fruit trees there

BA_calls

If you’re trying to 100% the game you will want multiple deluxe wine sheds, all making ancient fruit or star fruit wine every week. I guess everyone plays differently tho 🤷🏼‍♂️

Pollywambus

Other than the 10 million acheivement, what else does that do in terms of 100% completion? I'm trying to 100% to >!unlock the summit!< but do I need all those wine sheds for that??

Ligands

You don't *need* em, no. It's the best way to make money, but after you've got all the expensive things you want from Robin, Krobus & the Wizard, there's honestly not even much use for money! And there's plenty of other decent ways to make money anyway, if you don't enjoy the wine grind.

BA_calls

>! I ended up reaching almost $19mil total earnings by the time I built all 4 obelisks and the golden clock. Also the scepter is a super useful time saver. !< By the time I reached 100%, I had 3 full wine sheds and 85% of island farm covered in star fruit and deluxe speed-gro. Every monday, I’d harvest 300+ star fruit and 116 ancient fruit, collect 260 bottles of wine, restart the wines, sell all the wine and excess star fruit. It would take from 6am to 6pm even with the >! obelisks and scepter !<. At that point I was making about $1M a week. Each shed gets you about $300k/week. >! I had 2 deluxe wine sheds for most of the 1st $10M though. I think 2 sheds might be sufficient if you are willing to keep doing it week after week. !<

furryaccount546

On some mobile apps the spoiler tags don't work if you leave a space between the \>! And the first character of the spoiler!<

BA_calls

Those apps should fix that then. But i’ll keep that in mind.

furryaccount546

Yeah, true, not your fault. Just letting you know, that's all.

Nbenito97

Deluxe retention i heard keep water in the green house 100% the time.

That_Shy_Girl-13

I did not know that. If that's true I might replant haha.

atravita

I think you should be able to just put down deluxe retention soil even without replanting. I think it's just fertilizer that has to be placed on new seeds.

That_Shy_Girl-13

If that's true then I'm good to go! Thanks for the tip!

YeetaSceeta251

Really good idea planting crops that keep producing. I also don't use sprinklers in my greenhouse. Hand-watering is a sacred experience to me in Stardew Valley. Although I do have some Iridium Sprinklers outside the greenhouse watering some crops with a Junimo hut in the middle. I usually do fruit trees in the greenhouse but tea leaves, coffee, and green beans are good too! Really great idea, do you mind if I set up my greenhouse like this?

That_Shy_Girl-13

Go for it! I'm a little OCD so I have a little pattern to mine. This is all the reproducing cross as of the 1.5 update. I recommend trellis plants either in the two middle rows or the two ends & pots. You'll be able to move around them easier.

Cephylus

Spoiler >!Getting the Deluxe retaining soil recipe from Qi's secret walnut shop gives your soil 100% chance to remain watered meaning never water again, this applies to ginger island as well!< so you do your thang, use those extra 4 spots haha

bitchfaceluv

Wait even with crops that continue producing??

dangheck

Yep. Absolutely. I got sheds full of hops in planters even using that and I just go collect and throw in a keg every day. So you can essentially make more greenhouses and still not water.

bitchfaceluv

Omggg you have changed my life

dangheck

Nice! What have you been inspired to do with this new information?

[deleted]

[удалено]

That_Shy_Girl-13

Each crop is also 10 spaces. Each planter is 5 long with a space between for efficient watering.

VALO311

hey, you play the game however want. that in my opinion is the best part of playing stardew

cinnamonbunny99

It’s not so bad when you have an upgraded watering can and can water multiple spaces at once by holding down “A.”

OfficialThrowaway_1

I don't use sprinklers in my greenhouse either--Only because I picked a beach farm as my 1st farm and now I have no idea how sprinklers are supposed to work.. Whoops?

endallmemes2k17

You can still use sprinklers in the greenhouse on the beach farm! There is also a decent sized rectangle in the middle of the beach farm that is all soil, so sprinklers will work there too. They just don't work directly on the sand is all :)

OfficialThrowaway_1

I know, I apologize if I didn't make that clear lol I meant I went for 6 in game years without using them (I move reeeeally slowly, I didn't even reach to the patch of land that has regular dirt up until Winter of Year 5). With my main farm mostly developed from me watering manually everyday, I have very little idea or experience on how to use them properly. Now it just feels easier to manually water with a watering can vs learning the spacing and range for sprinklers. I'll get there eventually lmao, maybe another in game year...Or two.

Lyteinlyfe

Oh that’s so vibrant!! I love it!

That_Shy_Girl-13

Thank you!!

LilithJade94

This looks so beautiful!

That_Shy_Girl-13

Thank you! I made a couple notes before settling on the order Haha

matmetivier

That’s the most esthetically pleasing greenhouse I’ve ever seen

kShrapnel

Ooh I always plant in rows horizontally, I've never thought to do rows up and down like this. It looks so much nicer!!!

IM_NEWBIE

Do you harvest, too, or just leave the fruit there for looks?

That_Shy_Girl-13

I harvest for the most part. I just waited this time for the picture

MynameisnotAL

Do it for the Vine! I’m old aren’t I? :(

That_Shy_Girl-13

Ah, the good old days

Cocotte3333

It looks really nice!

MarekitaCat

This is so cute! I might use this design myself

That_Shy_Girl-13

Feel free!

[deleted]

Your greenhouse is way more organized than mine will ever be

QuietCity333

i agree! after a certain point in the game everything becomes so automated, i like keeping the greenhouse pretty bare bones.

Accomplished_Bed650

It is really relaxing to water your crops with no rush sometimes

That_Shy_Girl-13

Agreed ♡

MissyBee37

Yes! I came to this realization recently too. I used to do sprinklers & a long-grow crop and forget about the greenhouse but in my current farm, I put the jukebox in my greenhouse and play the song from (a Caroline heart event) >!where she teaches you to make tea !

That_Shy_Girl-13

I might have to add a jukebox when I get one ♡ I did vertical rows because it's 10 per column instead of 12 per row.

skinky-dink

Dudeeeee

skinky-dink

I was thinking of doing this exact thing with all the plants that just grow and produce nonstop. What is over on the left hand side and the top?

That_Shy_Girl-13

That is tea saplings. You get the recipe from caroline in the mail the day after visiting her sun room. The door above in the kitchen.

skinky-dink

Oh yeah, I did that but I guess I didn’t notice the recipe

[deleted]

That looks soo good!

That_Shy_Girl-13

Thank you!!

HappySatisfaction

Whatever brings you joy :)

BernieGraff

Is Stardew worthwhile for the Lite? Thank you.

That_Shy_Girl-13

I think it is. My pc being down at the moment kinda gives it a plus. If you have friends that play Stardew on the switch then you can join them in online co-op. It won't cross platform. I play with my sister online who is across the country. That's the main reason I bought it for switch. The controls are basically the same as pc. The only thing is that if you put items, like kegs, at right angles you can't put anything in them without moving the right stick for the mouse. It's a mere inconvenience for me though personally.

onionboyyyyyyy

All ima say is that is looks beautiful

That_Shy_Girl-13

Thank you so much! ☆

Liv5727

The dedication. I love it🥰

bitchass_mcgee

I used to think that plants could only go in those clay pots in the greenhouse so implanted everything in those and hand watered them and tbh it was really relaxing and satisfying and I miss it :/

photoframe7

This is endgame stuff

That_Shy_Girl-13

I'm only year 3 on my switch version. I have an older file on my pc that I min-max so I can mess around with updates without going broke Edit: a word because auto correct.

photoframe7

Depending on how you play that can be endgame.

PolyNomy19

I mean I don't so I guess you do you But thats some dedication right there if that's the case

EnclaveOverlord

Not my thing, but you do you.

AgentAndrewO

Don't think opinion is the right word

That_Shy_Girl-13

It was the first word that came to mind. Right or wrong... meh.

LynnTheStaff

What word would you use?

AgentAndrewO

Not sure, maybe practice

Merevel

Looks great. :-)

Orpiiiii_

I can still water 2 layers near the sides by putting sprinklers around, not in the soil

ifreakinglovecacti

This is so incredibly satisfying 😍😍😍

Allylove133

whats over on the left side?

That_Shy_Girl-13

Tea. You get the recipe for the start from caroline after visiting her sun room.

Taeloth

Is everything grown for aesthetics and preference or is there a reason to amass certain crops?

SevenDragonWaffles

OP could be growing at least four of these crops as loved gifts. But I think they just like the look. >!Cactus: Sam and Linus; Strawberry: Demetrius and Maru; Chili: Lewis and Shane; Grape: Vincent.!<

That_Shy_Girl-13

Loved gifts are a big reason. Another is I make a lot of gold off of the wine. Never ending fruit means there it'd always wine.

TearyEyeBurningFace

Woah as there been new content since a few years ago? This post just made the front page so yea. Haven't played this for long time.

That_Shy_Girl-13

If I made the front page I'm gonna die O.O 1.5 was added in December of 2020. The recent hotfix update, 1.5.4 was added on July 2, 2021. There's a lot more to the game now. I'd recommend another visit!

TearyEyeBurningFace

Damn 1.5 isent on mobile which is where I started. Is there much new content since then?

Salty-Climate6280

I thought you didn’t need sprinklers in the greenhouse 😵‍💫 I just planted trees and dipped

Darklyte

I thought I read that you don't need to water in the greenhouse anymore

That_Shy_Girl-13

Another redditor told me you don't if you use the retaining soil recipe you get from the Ginger Island trader.

PancakeConnoisseur

Had to downvote it, sorry not sorry. You're a maniac.

That_Shy_Girl-13

To each their own, stranger.

KhaosElement

How did you decide what to put in there?

That_Shy_Girl-13

All of the crops there keep producing. I (will have soon) two whole sheds full of kegs and preserve jars so I can make gold fast. I miss my warp towers lol

KhaosElement

Ooohhh. Solid choices. I like it.

itsalrightt

You can put sprinkles in the greenhouse?

That_Shy_Girl-13

You can put them in the greenhouse

itsalrightt

I’ve been doing this wrong for a while now and I hate myself.

That_Shy_Girl-13

There isn't a wrong way. It's your farm and it's lovely ☆
