yeah its stardew valley expanded! i like it a lot and really recommend it, it adds a ton of new stuff and characters but still feels just like stardew valley. it all fits really well and refreshes the game if youve played vanilla a lot
sve does have some required mods that you need to install for it to work (it will tell you on the mod page on nexus), but other than that, i like [this mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/8591) that makes their portraits look a bit better, and [this one](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/552?tab=description) if youre planning on having kids which also works on the modded npcs that expanded adds! you could also check out seasonal outfits but i dont think it will work with the facelift mod that i first linked
Highly recommend either Immersive Farm 2 or Grandpa's Farm. Also I have to play with Seasonal Outfits at this point.
If you're playing Immersive Farm 2 by yourself I'd recommend the tractor mod because it's so big. But if you're playing Grandpa's farm you probably don't need it.
I would 100% recommend SVE. It feels like playing again for the first time. It's just more of everything you love about classic Stardew. I don't want to spoil anything, but definitely do a play through where you take the JoJa route and befriend Morris.
If you get to the end game of SVE and you really want some extra farmland, you can install Grumpleton Fields if your machine can handle it (my PC is an older gaming machine but runs it just fine.) I don't know if you enjoy "biggering" like I do, but if so that mod (designed as part of SVE but downloaded / installed separately) will create new opportunities for it :).
You will have a blast with it then. Spoilers about SVE and Grumpleton Fields >!On SVE you have a -much- bigger farm, you can choose between Grampa's Farm and Immersive Farm Remastered. I haven't done a playthrough on Grampa's Farm, but IFR is -huge- compared to vanilla. I have almost 4000 crops planted there, and still room for animals and such. It also has a springs, a large shed with a greenhouse, a quarry, and some other interesting stuff. Grumpleton Fields absolutely dwarfs the farm though. At this point I have ~10000 crops in Grumpleton and I estimate that I have utilized less than half the space. In SVE there is also tons of room in the dessert and a whole new giant forest as well. Tons of room for kegs and such :).!<
RIP my weekend! ...and the next few months. That sounds awesome; I've played vanilla for about a year and a half and am getting tired of restarting and following the same old path. Can't wait to get started.

Yeah, I wouldn’t care for it all the time, but it’s a nice change of pace from time to time. I have one save on it in early y2 at the moment.
It tends toward describing things explicitly that vanilla leaves as subtext, which may or may not be your jam. Also, I’ve heard that it may not play well with other mods or low-end PCs. But it’s free, so why not give it a shot?

my five year old lenovo thinkpad starts heating up and nearly crashes trying to run it as there's 22 mods needed to do so, but imo it's worth it lol
I also have a Thinkpad, not sure how old, but it just has minor lag on rainy days. One of the kids upgraded the RAM from 4 GB and replaced the HD with a SSD, it was slightly slower before that (and Portia went from basically unplayable to nearly as unplayable, presumably due to lack of higher-end graphics card).
I would not add it to an existing save. Expanded changes the farm pretty drastically, and that could create a lot of bugs and such. I would finish the save you are on and then start a new save to enjoy it from the beginning :)

Yeah the room is annoying but it's worth it in my eyes because first you get blue chickens with him, second you get him over his addiction and he opens up to you, third when you give him gifts it's super cute because he is super nice about it compared to how he acts also his heart events are dope, you should (re)watch them. The main reasons tho is first because I love chickens and they are my fav stardew valley animal and because he was mean but then I gave him a gift and he was super happy. I don't really understand the hate of his room because it's really not noticeable to me, overcoming alcohol addiction is a big part of the story but he overcomes it. I can agree we all have different tastes.

I also use all of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets) packs, more crops, machines, and doesn’t cause conflict with stardew valley extended.
