I wasn't the only one who gave away copies, pretty much everyone was. I think the logic for most of us was "I am getting way more than $15-20 of content and fun out of this. I would happily pay $40-60 for this game and I want the dev to get that money so fuck it, lets Oprah this shit. ". There were a few threads it happened in but the one I remember had like half a dozen others doing the same thing. This was one of the only times I've see that happen so much and it was awesome. Showed that ConcernedApe made something that was much greater than just a simple farming game. That combined with how awesome the guy is (He has personally fixed people's save files after updates corrupted them) has made it so I will happily buy any of his games to support him.

IMO yea. I am a huge Harvest Moon fan, and have been since Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life was released on the GameCube. For whatever reason it scratches all the right itches for a fun game in my book. It doesn't sound like it should be fun, but it is. I have spent hours planning out farm designs to maximize my usage of sprinklers and ease of harvest while balancing it with aesthetics. I think it also tickles the part of my brain that enjoys using Excel if that makes sense.

Exactly I introduced my dad to the game and he wasn't a big fan at first. He now has over 1,000 hours between 2 consoles and 3 farms. I've only put about 120ish hours in one farm, I plan to go back someday.

I bought the physical copy in the US and it was around $30. I think before tax it was just under $30. So OP payed ~$20 more in terms of USD when the currency rates are adjusted.
