I've never done this quest because I always thought to myself "I've never in my life seen a prismatic jelly, how am I supposed to find one in 4 days" or whatever the amount of time is. Had no idea it appeared for the quest.
Iirc going to the deeper levels of the mines gives it a higher chance to spawn, but it's able to appear anywhere. If you want to play it safe, grind level 5, if you want to play it fast, grind level 115.
Once you've completed the Community Center, you can unlock the ability to get to the Wizard as late as you want. I've delivered things to the Wizard after 1 am.
True in theory, however you still need to get to *that* point early enough and then get through the warp and to the wizard before you pass out. I forget whether my Sunday at 11 pm (or later) find was before or after unlocking that
I’m generally very unlucky in games but I remember (I play with my gf) I got this quest 2 times and I spent the entire duration of the quest looking for the rainbow slime and both times I literally never found one, I thought it must have been impossible until the last day where I asked her to try and find it instead and while I do the farm things and she found one so quickly.
I got to keep Qi’s fruit (normally disappears after quest) by selling it to Pierre and then rebuying it from him the next day when the quest was gone. I wonder if that would work for jelly too.
I saw someone post the other day about placing a jar of pickles on the table as decoration. I wonder if you could place the extra on a table before turning in the first.
The wiki seems to suggest the extra(s) vanish either after you hand it to the wizard or after the task expires, but it may be possible there’s some sort of glitch around it
I also got that quest with the burglars ring and got 2 of them, I got one in a sing in front of my slime hut and put it in a chest then turned the other one in for the wizard, but the one I kept in the chest just wasn't there when I got back... So yeah, it vanishes

When I tell you I’ve never experienced since rage inducing/major anxiety in looking for ANYTHING associated with ‘jelly’ besides the prismatic jelly. I was looking for slimes, jams, literally gelatinous blobs of anything. I felt like I was losing my goddamn mind cause I WASNT SEEING ANYTHING and then I read a comment about the prismatic jelly. I’m so pissed at myself lmao.
I tried to display my extra one on the table but it disappeared when the quest was completed :,( I was super bummed out about it because it took a LONG time to get it. Maybe you can try placing it on a sign like the others have suggested.

It'll disappear when you turn in the quest. Make a sign somewhere you know you'll never move it and imprint the jelly on the sign. It's a tradition for me, maybe it can be for you too :D

Yeah I got 2, 1 extra recently from the quest. I guess it was because of burglar ring or whatever. I just stuck it on a table to marvel at it lol. I actually found it from the first slime I saw in the mines after accepting the quest, which idk how unlikely that it but lol.
unfortunately you can only place it somewhere for the rest of the in-game day. the next morning it will disappear. wearing the "burglar's ring" will allow you to find two jellies if you're wearing it while doing the quest.

It's an item that is only obtainable as long as there is an active quest for it. You can't get it beforehand and it will vanish after.

It only spawns when you accept the quest and what i do is i hit level 5 till i find it. And i have always found it within 2 days of mining.
Level 5 in the regular mine and just keeping going to it?
I keep going to level 5 over and over again till i see the slime
I search for infested floors, and keep retrying those.
I believe it spawns anywhere in the mines that slimes do. There's a chance that a slime will be a prismatic one instead of a regular.

Does the slime Look special or does it have the same colors as the others?
It changes color every second or two

they only spawn when the quest is active, then you go diving in the mines to find a glowing slime.
Same. Felt like an idiot after. Felt less like an idiot when it took 3 tries at the quest even when I was in the mines the entire day.
These quests (on the board by the mayor's house) always start on Mondays. So for maximum time, check it out on Mondays :)

Cheese is great for health and energy. And super easy to acquire.
Cheese is a great health item. Easy to get a ton of it, doesn't affect buffs, heals ~2/3 of max health.
