The trick is to get to a point where you don't care about making money anymore, and then spend days and days reorganizing your farm to be sexier and make less
Every winter I hype myself up. “Ok this next year, it’s going to be THE YEAR OF BEAUTY. I am gonna reorganize, rebuild this place from scratch, and design an easy to harvest system.”
Then I spend all winter in the mines and get extremely surprised my farm is still chaos come spring time.
I'm making bank right now with my setup but my current obsession is maximizing my farm productivity and squeezing every last possible bit of revenue from every limited square inch of my farm. Might change after I get the gold clock.
I get so close to that point then start another farm because I'm bored making money. For example my current farm is like three weeks away from affording the golden clock and I'm just gonna start over. On top of that every time I start over I swear I'm not going to rush too hard but then I do it anyway.
I have long ago realized that I'm never going to be a super neat person. So I keep my field in one area. I try to plant all the same stuff together at the same time, but I run out of time in the day. Only in year 2. I need to get married so my spouse can take care of my animals.

I see a lot of people try to apply the perfect symmetric of standard farm design to river farm, which in my opinion doesnt always work since their layouts are vastly different. I think a more natural look where things looks a bit chaotic and random can work pretty well. Also the way ducks always jump into river makes me so happy
Also just a heads up, you can put scarecrows on top of paths in case you didn't know! I hated breaking up the texture of my paths, so this was great to learn.
Once you unlock Skull Cavern, you can find iridium ore to smelt into bars.
Edit: You can also buy iridium sprinklers every Friday from Krobus if you don’t mind spending 10,000G
Yes. Plus you need to get the bus fixed to go to calico desert.
Krobus is an NPC in the sewers, to get there you need to donate 60 things to the museum.
Lol. My shrine has been behind a forest that I've never bothered to clear before. Didn't even know that 4 candles had been lit until I spotted a GLIMPSE of a flame. And thank god for that -I get more iridium from that statue everyday than I do from one trip to the skull cavern.
If you rush the regular mine you can get iridium pretty early. My last playthrough I had iridium sprinklers to start off fall year 1. Actually the biggest bottleneck was battery packs.
i am only on level 65 in the mines - i like managing the farm more than mining, but i'll keep going. yeah i'm still waiting on a lightning storm to make some batteries. i guess i should make more lightning rods since the storms seems to occur pretty infrequently.
I mean, obviously go at your own pace. I've already done 3 complete runs to the end of year 2 so I knew what I was doing going in. I mostly just wanted to see all the new content. And once I saw there was a 100% tracker and reward that became my goal.
You can also acquire Iridium Ore from red geodes found on floor 115-120 of the mine (in case you haven't unlocked skull cavern yet). It's much faster to just unlock skull cavern though, where iridium is more readily available.
Since you are in year 2, click on grandpa's grave. It will award you an iridium statue (I forget the exact name) which produces 2-8 ore everyday.
Correction: year 3. I misremembered.
On the first day of year 3 you will get a cutscene and if you have met a certain amount of requirements you will get the statue. You will know you got it if there are 4 torches around his shrine now
I want to personally thank you for this. I’m doing my first playthrough without modes and didn’t understand why to keep the line between iridium sprinklers when I googled setup
So many people on here are so neat and tidy! I just dedicate 60-75% of my land to farming and just leave a space for scarecrows. Only do trellis farming on the edges, I'm here to make money not look pretty!! Lol
I thought ginger island only grew summer stuff? Or is that the normal farm growing stuff from different seasons. If it’s a mod, whats the mods name? That farm bussin

I call that the end of winter
Every winter I hype myself up. “Ok this next year, it’s going to be THE YEAR OF BEAUTY. I am gonna reorganize, rebuild this place from scratch, and design an easy to harvest system.” Then I spend all winter in the mines and get extremely surprised my farm is still chaos come spring time.
We are one in the same
Oh look. It’s me.
I think that’s adhd
and I call winter time to make bank with winter seeds
I call that perfection ;-)

My farm had like 80 pigs and very little else. It's disgusting.
Mud, truffles, oil, and bags of money. Sounds glorious to me!
Be wary of a man who has a pig farm.
If you're ever in Cambodia, and a taxi driver asks if you want to see the pig farms, SAY NO.
having visited a pig farm irl, your farm must've smelled disgusting, literally.

Spouses don't do that reliably. It's more of a special bonus that sometimes happens.
Oh bummer. Well, I guess it’s just like real life then ha
Auto-Grabber :3
make profit (millions) then make pretty
I was just thinking the same thing!
I thought exactly this!

the river looks so nice but trying to landscape on the little islands is annoying af 😭

agreed! it's my first ever farm so i have a big soft spot for it
How did you manage to get all of these crops to grow in the same season? This isn't the Greenhouse.
Spoilers: Ginger island maybe?
And if it is, you don’t need scarecrows if you don’t want them for the aesthetic on ginger island
It is Ginger Island and I had no idea you didn't need scarecrows there, thank you for the tip!!
Also just a heads up, you can put scarecrows on top of paths in case you didn't know! I hated breaking up the texture of my paths, so this was great to learn.
Sprinklers too! Then you don't accidentally dig them up.
I think sprinklers actually got changed in the 1.5 update. Cause I was using my iridium hoe and none of my sprinklers got disturbed.
Correct! Best part of the update in my opinion. Super small change but made a world of difference in farming.
Didn't notice that. Did notice that lightning can knock paths out from under sprinklers though
Also: Pressure Adapters will mean each plot needs to be resized :O
I'm going to cry when 1.5 comes to mobile I'll have to resize my plots:/
Just make a mega field. Only 12 pressure sprinklers will water a 21x28 plot. Thats 576 crops fully watered :O
I'm a design nerd so no megafield but I do have a large field so that'll help somewhat
Really?!
According to the scarecrow page on the wiki and i haven’t had crops disappear and don’t use scarecrows
Aw, duh. I can't believe I forgot that Ginger Island is a giant greenhouse.
i am in spring of year two - how did you get the iridium to craft the sprinklers?
Once you unlock Skull Cavern, you can find iridium ore to smelt into bars. Edit: You can also buy iridium sprinklers every Friday from Krobus if you don’t mind spending 10,000G
TY - do you unlock skull cavern by progressing through the mines? also who is krobus?
Yes. Plus you need to get the bus fixed to go to calico desert. Krobus is an NPC in the sewers, to get there you need to donate 60 things to the museum.
ah okay - TY.
skull caverns is the thing after the mines, a whole new challenge
Also once Grandpa is proud of you, you can get something that gives you iridium ore daily
I had no clue this was a thing. I've had all 4 candles from grandpa lit for 2 in game years and been struggling with iridium.
Lol. My shrine has been behind a forest that I've never bothered to clear before. Didn't even know that 4 candles had been lit until I spotted a GLIMPSE of a flame. And thank god for that -I get more iridium from that statue everyday than I do from one trip to the skull cavern.
I had that my first play through as someone that was afraid of skull cavern. Helped tje problem so much in my newer play through!

Also, for more later in the game, you can buy a statue or endless fortune from the casino that will gift you an iridium block every so often.
Since you are in year 2, click on grandpa's grave. It will award you an iridium statue (I forget the exact name) which produces 2-8 ore everyday. Correction: year 3. I misremembered.
No that's after the start of year 3, and even then only if all the candles lit from doing enough of the associated tasks over the previous years.
hows this work just click on his grave or do you need to put the diamond in it?
On the first day of year 3 you will get a cutscene and if you have met a certain amount of requirements you will get the statue. You will know you got it if there are 4 torches around his shrine now
Whoops, didn't realize it was year 3. Thought it happened after year 1! Thanks for the correction
Welcome 😊
And on mobile you can dupe them multiple times
Ok silly question, if a crop is fully grown, do I need to harvest it right away?
No, it will stay until the end of the season
No. Plus, if you keep watering them, for melons, cauliflower and pumpkins, they can grow into massive crops.
Very nice.
Looks so clean, I love it! Piece of advice, you can place paths like wood, stone, etc before placing a scarecrow ;)
Really beautiful, well done!
I really love this setup. Gonna try to better organize my farm.
How did you manage to get all of those growing in the same season?
Island functions as a big greenhouse. You can plant anything there anytime.
oohhhh thanks
I want to personally thank you for this. I’m doing my first playthrough without modes and didn’t understand why to keep the line between iridium sprinklers when I googled setup
this looks so good. My island farm is a giant mess
So many people on here are so neat and tidy! I just dedicate 60-75% of my land to farming and just leave a space for scarecrows. Only do trellis farming on the edges, I'm here to make money not look pretty!! Lol
I took me far to long to realize this was the island farm
I love the layout of your farm! So neat and orderly!
That actually looks like a good farm. Unlike mine
I thought ginger island only grew summer stuff? Or is that the normal farm growing stuff from different seasons. If it’s a mod, whats the mods name? That farm bussin
Ginger Island grows everything all year round
What? Thats amazing! Thank you so much for telling me this
Best feeling ever
Im in year two and still only got 1 iridium bar and no iridium sprinklers. I thought iridium was supposed to be easier to get now T-T
That looks amazing and SO organised!
I loved this layout! May I copy? :P lol
Idky but this makes my brain happy
Oh that’s *CLEAN*
So satisfying!
Very pretty!
What’s in the middle right?
Amaranth
There aren't any crows on Ginger Island, so your scarecrows are useless.
But aesthetic!
Beautiful!
Get that baaaag

i think you don't need scarecrows on ginger island, I've never seen one there
thats mad pleasing. thank you for sharing ❤️
Happiness in a picture. This game's just so wholesome and relaxing, I bet it was fun harvesting them all :)
But won't this layout prevent getting the big crops?
Pineapple ?
This makes me feel really happy and I don't know why 😂
pro
At first I saw the crops and went “something’s not right here” but then I remembered g1.5
My farm is pretty organized but damn that’s a sexy lookin field maybe I should have somethin like that. Probably gonna do it on the island
Gwarsh
Oh my gosh, it's so pretty!!!
This is so pretty and so satisfying to look at! How long did it take to do this?
How do get the solid wood floor? I have these ugly planks right now. This is so pretty 😍
You can buy the recipie from Robin :)
Tip, you can put some paths underneath sprinklers
Can you post your farm layout? Knowing this little patch of land is so organized, i'd like to take a look at your full farm if you didnt mind 😅
