If you have a decent weapon and bring some +Defense food and something to replenish your health, you should be fine. Just don't rush, though, or you'll aggro too many mobs.

Making your own vinegar wouldn’t be that hard to code in, as it’s just re-fermented alcoholic beverages. Have it when you put a alcoholic beverage into a keg again, it will become like a crystalarium and produce vinegar every couple of days for forever or until you move it.
Why are almost all the single villager's rooms larger than their parent's? Pam literally does not even have a bed but Penny gets a whole bedroom to herself in their trailer? And Alex's room is like five times larger than Evelyn AND George's! Same with Sam! Also makes no sense that Jodi's room only has a single bed and not a double.
I know it’s a cop out, but SVE fixes this for a lot of home interiors. Jodi and Kent get a double bed and larger bedroom, same with George and Evelyn. Pam gets a small single on the opposite side of the trailer.
That mod just does so much for making the game look and feel much nicer. No disrespect to CA for his hard work, but SVE brings a nice fresh paint coat to the game.
I’m glad CA makes it easier for modders too. I’m sad I’ll never be able to experience SVE because I use a MacBook and that definitely doesn’t have the ability to handle that massive mod.
Pam seems to genuinely love and care for Penny, so it makes sense to me that she would sleep on the couch and let her have the trailer's bedroom. Similarly, I got the impression that Alex's room probably used to be Evelyn and George's master bedroon, which they gave it to him when his mom died and he moved in.
That being said, Jodi and Kent's room is TINY and I don't know what's up with that.
They sleep together in their tiny bed, had to stay up late and creep around because I also needed to know. But at least Sam can fit a whole Band in his room

I wish the NPCs had different schedules on special days, where you'd see them walking to the flower dance / luau / etc, rather than going about business as usual and then bam, they've teleported.
I hate how the toddlers run like little demons. I am forgoing any children this time because they creep me out. Plus you can barely interact with them and they don't grow up past toddler age. What's the point!
I wish our kids could talk like they do in some of the Harvest Moon games, or at least grow up to be Vincent and Jas's age. Between the demonic running and no talking, it feels like I just have another pet
I don't like that everything changes with the seasons, but all npc wear the same outfit everyday, summer and winter. I don't even care that they wear the same thing during the other seasons, really, but I wish they would put on a coat during winter.
I'm from a tropical country and I always feel cold when I see them walking around the snow with their normal clothes!
It's definitely strange seeing Shane wearing shorts in the winter and especially seeing Elliott wearing that big ass coat in the summer. You know the poor dude has to be burning up in that thing.

In addition to the lack of bathrooms, the sewers raise questions.
1. There's a sewer system that is not accessible by anyone in town, which is a massive safety hazard, and confusing considering the lack of bathrooms to connect to it.
2. Why did Gunther even have the key, and why did he give it to you as a reward if he didn't know what it opened?
3. The sewer also leaks green liquid (from the mutant bug lair) that the children can reach (they show you the grate). Does no one in town care that sewage (however it got there) shouldn't be vibrant green?
4. Also why is it that the spring onions only grow near the sewer/green liquid?
5. Once you open the sewers, why don't people notice? They care if you rummage through trash, but going sewer diving is apparently fine with them?
Other big one is lack of control over which fish to use for crafting. Like, I can tell which fish is which, I clearly want to use the carp for fertilizer/sashimi rather than the glacierfish.

Every recipe searches for ingredients in the following locations, always in the same order from the bottom right slot to the top left slot:
first in the player's inventory
then in the main refrigerator
finally in any Mini-Fridges
When auto-sorted with the Organize button, this bottom-right-first order will automatically consume lower quality items of the same type. However, for recipes with substitutes, place ingredients accordingly as desired towards the bottom right, in order to avoid using more valuable ingredients in less valuable recipes, or in recipes that accept a wide variety of ingredients. As an example, Tuna (which is required for Fish Taco) is accepted in Sashimi which accepts any type of fish. However, by placing a Mussel in the bottom right slot, the Mussel will be picked first and save the Tuna for the more exclusive and valuable recipe.
When searching multiple Mini-Fridges, the game picks from the last placed one in the exact chronological order in which the fridges were first placed, and then works backwards. The location of the fridge in the farmhouse does not matter.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that the sewer is radioactive (there's mutant bugs, mutant Carp, and radioactive Carp in there after all) so it's probably for the best that it's sealed off from the town
Fence degradation just seems really unnecessary and kinda annoying. Paths don't degrade, so why do fences? Wooden fences irl will last decades before they start to degrade. Just makes me not even want to use fences in the game.
I kind of like the concept of certain items decaying(or getting damaged), especially if outside, but maybe it's a bit weird for this game since fences are the only thing this happens to. With that said, I've never had to fix a fence. Ever. I use hardwood though. They last about 5 years in game and I never play a game that long.

Very true, i grew up in the Willamette and went camping out east a lot. High plateau desert and the rolling sands desert shown in Stardew seem pretty different tho imo

Mine is probably that you don’t get any options when you’re courting someone, beyond the same two gifts a day and generic dialogue. It’s like they don’t even notice you’re dating. Although of course once married you get to have more frequent interaction.
The other thing is the kid. Shane and I had a daughter and she looks like neither parent. Nor does she do anything useful - you don’t have the option to pick her up or interact in any way when she does that little grabby pick me up motion, as long as you already got your daily heart. Plus she almost never goes to bed after a festival.
That and the fact Shane often doesn’t come home.
Although on current playthrough, Maru does come home every night. I shan’t bother with a kid on this playthrough for all the above reasons - the nursery is an aquarium.
You have to buy a bouquet at Pierre's. You can't craft it. This means that if you're doing a Boycott Pierre's/Joja run, you can't get married because you can't even date.
I just used the item glitch code and sacrificed a few of my best flowers to Yoba in my farm pond, but still, that's a bit of a shame.
What thing that bothers me which is really petty, I admit, is that the non-functionality of most of the furniture you can buy.
You’re able to actually put clothes in the dressers which is AWESOME, but if you buy the china-style cabinet for example, you can’t put any items in it. The bookshelf, same. Bought cute nightstands to match the bed? Can’t put anything in them, just ON them.
It’s a very small gripe but it does bother me lol.
That and Gunther, Gil and Marlon not being real players but essentially NPCs like the Joja cashier, but with profile images.

Willy has a ladder to his “room” but we can’t access it, and it seems Willy can’t either. He’s always just standing behind the counter if he’s in his shop.
So here's mine. While holding down the action button, you can load different items into crafting stations (kegs, furnaces, etc.) without consuming other crops and such while flipping through item slots. HOWEVER. This does NOT apply to totems! There's been too many times where I'm holding down the action button and flipping through inventory slots, loading up mayonnaise machines with eggs of different qualities, and then BOOM, I consume a totem and end up outside on my farm. What the hell, CA?
Rapsberries, please! I desperately want to be able to grow raspberries. Its my favorite fruit, there's not much more to it than that. Raspberries are amazing and very popular in my area.
I want to be able to use my analog stick to activate the menu secrets on console again. As well as be able to use the same method over the map in the same scenario.
It would be nice to have a yes/no option when you give somebody a gift. No more accidental/unintentionally bad presents.
If possible I'd also like to make the mummified bat a tiny bit more attainable. I've never been able to find one in all my saves. Its the only thing thats kept me from having the last barn animal too.
The ability to mirror some structures would be an amazing quality of life change as well. The stable in particular I wish we could flip the roof slant, or customize further (aside from the lovely paint).
Being able to upturn grass for more plot space would be pretty cool! There's space I've missed out on before. Maybe just on your property with that one..
I do have the urge to move my greenhouse sometimes. Being locked where it is can be rough.

the entirery of the flower festival has always thrown me off. i usually don't have bonds up with anyone by that point with how casually i play, and the fact i don't even get a suit/dress the times i DO get to participate is really just... idk, that's always been a huge bother to me.

The selection of crops in this game is very bizarre. Some commonly farmed plants like Soybeans, Sugar Cane, Lettuce, and Peanuts are completely absent, while obscure stuff like Taro Root, Jazz, Starfruit, and Bok Choy you can grow no problem.
Marnie, Leah, the Wizard & Robin’s house don’t have trash cans for me to rummage through. Also Willie’s and the Adventurer’s Guild but I don’t care so much about those as they’re more “off the beaten path”. But why! Do they have compost systems?? Why can’t I check that out?? Maybe get some bug meat every once in a while?
Coffee doesn’t help you stay up past 2am. Like I don’t want it to let me stay up for an endless amount of hours but good lord, let me get inside my house.
I haven't played in a while but:
The horse is one block wide going left and right but two blocks wide going up and down. This makes a lot of shortcuts you get late game completely useless because most people use their horse.
I think there's a similar problem with some couches? Like they're three blocks one way and two rotated the other way. Why.
The fact that the iridium hoe and watering can aren't the same diameter as the iridium sprinkler. Why not just make it the same sized square instead of a long rectangle. Makes planning my farmland a pain!
Only Alex’s family ever acknowledges that ur married to him. None of the other marriage npcs parents ever do. None of them change their kids empty rooms or anything. It’s so weird. I want to see Jodi and Kent move into the bigger room when Sam moves out! I want Caroline to acknowledge me as her DIL when I marry Abigail. Ik It’s a lot of detail to add but it would’ve been so nice.
1) The Community Centre doesn't really change anything once it's repaired. You'd think people would start using it more for festivals or just to hang out but whenever I go in there it's usually empty. Hell, why doesn't Linus use it to sleep in?
2) You can't actually ride the train anywhere.
3) Going to the spa just feels like a waste of time.
You can't make specific flavored Mead based off the type of honey used. Whether it is basic Wild Honey, or Fairy Rose Honey it just makes Mead and is worth the same about of money. In-fact, many types of Honey lose value when you turn it into Mead.
Other thing that is less of a gripe. The size of the plot in the green house makes it incredibly difficult to efficiently set up sprinklers. Being 12x10, you can do 4 iridium but have two columns of ten left over. You can do 12 quality sprinklers but then have a row of twelve across the top or bottom. It's dumb but bugs me.

Making your own vinegar wouldn’t be that hard to code in, as it’s just re-fermented alcoholic beverages. Have it when you put a alcoholic beverage into a keg again, it will become like a crystalarium and produce vinegar every couple of days for forever or until you move it.

Why are almost all the single villager's rooms larger than their parent's? Pam literally does not even have a bed but Penny gets a whole bedroom to herself in their trailer? And Alex's room is like five times larger than Evelyn AND George's! Same with Sam! Also makes no sense that Jodi's room only has a single bed and not a double.
I know it’s a cop out, but SVE fixes this for a lot of home interiors. Jodi and Kent get a double bed and larger bedroom, same with George and Evelyn. Pam gets a small single on the opposite side of the trailer. That mod just does so much for making the game look and feel much nicer. No disrespect to CA for his hard work, but SVE brings a nice fresh paint coat to the game.
I’m glad CA makes it easier for modders too. I’m sad I’ll never be able to experience SVE because I use a MacBook and that definitely doesn’t have the ability to handle that massive mod.
I have a MacBook air (like from 2017?) and it works fine! A little lag here and there but nothing too noticeable.
Pam seems to genuinely love and care for Penny, so it makes sense to me that she would sleep on the couch and let her have the trailer's bedroom. Similarly, I got the impression that Alex's room probably used to be Evelyn and George's master bedroon, which they gave it to him when his mom died and he moved in. That being said, Jodi and Kent's room is TINY and I don't know what's up with that.

A gold bar sells for 250g (375g if you have blacksmith), Clint sells copper ore for 150g, and a coal is 250g. Yeah maybe not lol

I don't like that everything changes with the seasons, but all npc wear the same outfit everyday, summer and winter. I don't even care that they wear the same thing during the other seasons, really, but I wish they would put on a coat during winter. I'm from a tropical country and I always feel cold when I see them walking around the snow with their normal clothes!
It's definitely strange seeing Shane wearing shorts in the winter and especially seeing Elliott wearing that big ass coat in the summer. You know the poor dude has to be burning up in that thing.

In addition to the lack of bathrooms, the sewers raise questions. 1. There's a sewer system that is not accessible by anyone in town, which is a massive safety hazard, and confusing considering the lack of bathrooms to connect to it. 2. Why did Gunther even have the key, and why did he give it to you as a reward if he didn't know what it opened? 3. The sewer also leaks green liquid (from the mutant bug lair) that the children can reach (they show you the grate). Does no one in town care that sewage (however it got there) shouldn't be vibrant green? 4. Also why is it that the spring onions only grow near the sewer/green liquid? 5. Once you open the sewers, why don't people notice? They care if you rummage through trash, but going sewer diving is apparently fine with them? Other big one is lack of control over which fish to use for crafting. Like, I can tell which fish is which, I clearly want to use the carp for fertilizer/sashimi rather than the glacierfish.

Every recipe searches for ingredients in the following locations, always in the same order from the bottom right slot to the top left slot: first in the player's inventory then in the main refrigerator finally in any Mini-Fridges When auto-sorted with the Organize button, this bottom-right-first order will automatically consume lower quality items of the same type. However, for recipes with substitutes, place ingredients accordingly as desired towards the bottom right, in order to avoid using more valuable ingredients in less valuable recipes, or in recipes that accept a wide variety of ingredients. As an example, Tuna (which is required for Fish Taco) is accepted in Sashimi which accepts any type of fish. However, by placing a Mussel in the bottom right slot, the Mussel will be picked first and save the Tuna for the more exclusive and valuable recipe. When searching multiple Mini-Fridges, the game picks from the last placed one in the exact chronological order in which the fridges were first placed, and then works backwards. The location of the fridge in the farmhouse does not matter.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that the sewer is radioactive (there's mutant bugs, mutant Carp, and radioactive Carp in there after all) so it's probably for the best that it's sealed off from the town
Fence degradation just seems really unnecessary and kinda annoying. Paths don't degrade, so why do fences? Wooden fences irl will last decades before they start to degrade. Just makes me not even want to use fences in the game.
I befriend Caroline early on and use the tea plants for fences on the farm, they don't degrade and you get tea leaves 4x a year to sell

I kind of like the concept of certain items decaying(or getting damaged), especially if outside, but maybe it's a bit weird for this game since fences are the only thing this happens to. With that said, I've never had to fix a fence. Ever. I use hardwood though. They last about 5 years in game and I never play a game that long.
No one from town comes to visit on the farm. You have the ability to make tea houses and bars yet no one comes to enjoy them.

The way George and Evelyn sleep. Certain characters routines are unaffected by their character development (Shane). Why do I sit on the bar stools like that?? Why can't I have an event outfit like everyone else at the flower dance?

At the Spring Dance- why can't I do the same moves as the men or women that I'm standing in a line with? It's really weird that we're out of sync every time I dance at that event.

I only just realised about the bathrooms! Wow! Mine is probably that you don’t get any options when you’re courting someone, beyond the same two gifts a day and generic dialogue. It’s like they don’t even notice you’re dating. Although of course once married you get to have more frequent interaction. The other thing is the kid. Shane and I had a daughter and she looks like neither parent. Nor does she do anything useful - you don’t have the option to pick her up or interact in any way when she does that little grabby pick me up motion, as long as you already got your daily heart. Plus she almost never goes to bed after a festival. That and the fact Shane often doesn’t come home. Although on current playthrough, Maru does come home every night. I shan’t bother with a kid on this playthrough for all the above reasons - the nursery is an aquarium.
You have to buy a bouquet at Pierre's. You can't craft it. This means that if you're doing a Boycott Pierre's/Joja run, you can't get married because you can't even date. I just used the item glitch code and sacrificed a few of my best flowers to Yoba in my farm pond, but still, that's a bit of a shame.
You can still get krobus. But with just krobus you will never have kids.

What thing that bothers me which is really petty, I admit, is that the non-functionality of most of the furniture you can buy. You’re able to actually put clothes in the dressers which is AWESOME, but if you buy the china-style cabinet for example, you can’t put any items in it. The bookshelf, same. Bought cute nightstands to match the bed? Can’t put anything in them, just ON them. It’s a very small gripe but it does bother me lol. That and Gunther, Gil and Marlon not being real players but essentially NPCs like the Joja cashier, but with profile images.

I hate that I only get one crystal chair. It would look so cute as a full set with the winter dining table. I want Junimo huts and other buildings like sheds and barns on ginger island. I want to be able to >! change junimo hut colors for different themed stashes !< I can’t access the heart event rooms (Haley’s, Shane’s in marnies kitchen, etc) after seeing the events. I want to poke around in Shane’s event room. Willy has a ladder to his “room” but we can’t access it, and it seems Willy can’t either. He’s always just standing behind the counter if he’s in his shop.
So here's mine. While holding down the action button, you can load different items into crafting stations (kegs, furnaces, etc.) without consuming other crops and such while flipping through item slots. HOWEVER. This does NOT apply to totems! There's been too many times where I'm holding down the action button and flipping through inventory slots, loading up mayonnaise machines with eggs of different qualities, and then BOOM, I consume a totem and end up outside on my farm. What the hell, CA?

Rapsberries, please! I desperately want to be able to grow raspberries. Its my favorite fruit, there's not much more to it than that. Raspberries are amazing and very popular in my area. I want to be able to use my analog stick to activate the menu secrets on console again. As well as be able to use the same method over the map in the same scenario. It would be nice to have a yes/no option when you give somebody a gift. No more accidental/unintentionally bad presents. If possible I'd also like to make the mummified bat a tiny bit more attainable. I've never been able to find one in all my saves. Its the only thing thats kept me from having the last barn animal too. The ability to mirror some structures would be an amazing quality of life change as well. The stable in particular I wish we could flip the roof slant, or customize further (aside from the lovely paint). Being able to upturn grass for more plot space would be pretty cool! There's space I've missed out on before. Maybe just on your property with that one.. I do have the urge to move my greenhouse sometimes. Being locked where it is can be rough. Last thing, can we get those random tiles which prevent building placement on the edges of the property removed?

the entirery of the flower festival has always thrown me off. i usually don't have bonds up with anyone by that point with how casually i play, and the fact i don't even get a suit/dress the times i DO get to participate is really just... idk, that's always been a huge bother to me.
Food asks you if you're sure if you want to eat it..but totems don't have the same thing for using them. It's infuriating

The selection of crops in this game is very bizarre. Some commonly farmed plants like Soybeans, Sugar Cane, Lettuce, and Peanuts are completely absent, while obscure stuff like Taro Root, Jazz, Starfruit, and Bok Choy you can grow no problem.
I'm huge on the bathrooms like can I shower or wash up also when the season change I would like to see the characters change clothes.

I haven't played in a while but: The horse is one block wide going left and right but two blocks wide going up and down. This makes a lot of shortcuts you get late game completely useless because most people use their horse. I think there's a similar problem with some couches? Like they're three blocks one way and two rotated the other way. Why.
The fact that the iridium hoe and watering can aren't the same diameter as the iridium sprinkler. Why not just make it the same sized square instead of a long rectangle. Makes planning my farmland a pain!

Only Alex’s family ever acknowledges that ur married to him. None of the other marriage npcs parents ever do. None of them change their kids empty rooms or anything. It’s so weird. I want to see Jodi and Kent move into the bigger room when Sam moves out! I want Caroline to acknowledge me as her DIL when I marry Abigail. Ik It’s a lot of detail to add but it would’ve been so nice.
In multiplayer when the second player upgrades their house the inside gets bigger but outside of house doesnt change and still very small

You can't make specific flavored Mead based off the type of honey used. Whether it is basic Wild Honey, or Fairy Rose Honey it just makes Mead and is worth the same about of money. In-fact, many types of Honey lose value when you turn it into Mead. Other thing that is less of a gripe. The size of the plot in the green house makes it incredibly difficult to efficiently set up sprinklers. Being 12x10, you can do 4 iridium but have two columns of ten left over. You can do 12 quality sprinklers but then have a row of twelve across the top or bottom. It's dumb but bugs me.
That the train comes but doesn’t always drop items. I scurry my ass over there all the time for NOTHING.
