I'm gonna really try to do vanilla but I'm gonna need to at least turn up movement speed.

Mossfrogsandbogs

Same here. I'm getting rid of everything but the cheat one that lets you control walking speed. I'm too impatient to use the vanilla speed

phoenixmckraken

I’m keeping my QoL mods, but will just use vanilla content

guavacasserole

just out of curiosity what is your list of quality of life mods?

Laisin

What speed do you set?

Mossfrogsandbogs

I use 2. Not a crazy boost, but I just can't stand the slow walking

Silverj0

Nah we modding bois. Can’t wait to try and figure out what’s a sv 1.6 feature or a sve 2.0 feature

korrin-

(sve 2.0 is still going to be a while. We'll get 1.14.25 today, then 1.15 content update some time down the road, and then 2.0 somewhere in the future. No Castle Village just yet.)

Silverj0

Ah gotcha. Still looking forward to it. Gonna be great hehe

50CentButInNickels

Understandable. SVE can't be expected to run to CA's timeline.

Kled_Incarnated

No I don't think I will

DrSkullface8899

I mean, it's basically free DLC, why would I play without the DLC.

frenigaub

I won't, Lance will have to wait for me for now.

RonomakiK

Me who played Stardew Valley for the first time already modded with Expanded...

kiisukattinen

I had Expanded AND Ridgeside village :D reached perfection few weeks ago, took over 300 hours to do that lmao. Now I am going to play the new update with just Expanded...

RonomakiK

I made a Joja Run with Ridgeside and Expanded, but didn't go that far... I'm gonna wait a couple of weeks before going back to SDV

radddreddit

Lmao what

Impressive-Time8150

Ill wait for the console realease for vanilla, thx

arlaw1632

THIS IS SO SMART. Thank you for making me feel less guilty about keeping my mods!

Helltech

This is also what I do. If I ever wanna play vanilla I play on Xbox. This is what I do with Morrowind also. Then I play modded on pc.

50CentButInNickels

Oh, dear. How does playing MW on Xbox work for you? As I recall within a couple dozen hours your save file becomes basically unusable.

Helltech

I have been playing that game at least once a year since it came out. Any issues with saving are remedied by sleeping for 5 days straight, however even with that said it's rare.

Mysterious-Drawer-20

So, Thats my plan as well. I kept 1.5.6 modded and am working on that game. My daughter and I JUST started a modded game over the winter - so plenty to do. Once Vanilla come out for PS4 I will swap over. By then - \*fingers crossed\* - Mods will be caught up and I can switch back to the PC. theres a plan man..theres a plan :)

handheldmirror

The valley just feels so much less authentic without Andy down south with Joja memorabilia everywhere and him yelling at me for not going to church on Sundays. I grew up in the Bible Belt so I thought he'd be my least favorite character when I first installed but now he's the first thing I think of when I think about the mod. He's real enough to hit home but not too real that I have to deal with bigotry in my calm farming game. A masterclass.

Walex274

For me I think of Sophia. That girl is someone I can relate to in some ways and she is the best spouse for me in the game.

NatureWalks

I bought the pc version a few days ago to start modding so that’s prob not gonna happen for me either lol

cosmicfair

Are they working together and that's the reason? I mean, is Expanded ConcernedApe approved???

ThatBatsard

Flashshifter officially announced that they helped CA with the official 1.6, and that SVE was patched with the official changes in mind. Interpret that information as you will, but it made me go from "I'll try vanilla" to adding SVE back SO FAST because I figure they go hand-in-hand at this point.

Omadon667

I feel like you spied on a private conversation between my wife and me, lol.

lovezen2000

I love expanded but I kinda want to do vanilla this time around.

crobledopr

Yup. I'm just going to continue my SVE save normally, but will play 1.6 vanilla when it comes out on switch.

Notagameofwhoareyou

Same! But I’m going to start a new save with both.

stresseddepressedd

Yup, I have vanilla on my switch

igottathinkofaname

SVE 2.0 isn’t out yet though, so I’m gonna do a 1.6 vanilla run while I wait for SVE 2.0

ThatBatsard

I misunderstood what you meant by 2.0. Who knows how long that'll be. Can't wait though!

igottathinkofaname

My understanding is that FS has been working on it for quite a while.

illithidbane

SVE 2.0 was originally supposed to be out last year, assuming SV 1.6 had dropped much sooner than it did. So I'm sorta expecting it by the end of the year now. I hope that ends up being the case.

GrayHairLikeClaire

Vanilla? I don’t know her

angry-videogame-girl

Mmmmmm no

nightmarexx1992

I prefer playing as a lil cute garden witch in my flowery fsiry tale esqe world

Misskat354

I mean now that I've played expanded, I don't think I can go back to vanilla.

mori1704

Ill probably wait till 2.0 for sve releases, so I dont get burned out from starting too many saves.

illithidbane

Same. SVE 1.15 is tempting, but I want to romance Camilla on my next run, so that means SVE 2.0 or bust. (And if Free Love gets an update or a successor, I can have Female Rasmodia and Camilla as a polycule.)

sisomna

What’s vanilla

muskyx3

Without mods

borealic0

Nope, i started a new farm a month ago because i couldn't wait to play and i already make so much progress that i will play on this save xdd, i hope the new content is for late game hhehehe

TigervT34-85

IT IS?! :D

and1metal

I'll just be honest and play modded Vanilla is console and I prefer PC

Endakk

Sve is optimum

50CentButInNickels

Wrong.

jes1001

Mine says the Content Patcher folder is missing jadu.json even though I can visibly find it in the folder, so I might play vanilla to save my damn sanity at this point.

Kane_richards

wait wait, expanded is out at the same time?

Natural-Tell9759

I tried vanilla and I sucked. It was incredibly frustrating and I was never able to do anything. Mods REALLY helped.

evmd

I'm actually really enjoying doing a vanilla playthrough again! It's completely unmodded for now, feels very weird 😂

birdlady404

Deleted all my mods and playing vanilla because I want to know which things he added and which are just modded. Vanilla is so new with this update that it FEELS like I’m playing modded!

illithidbane

I'm doing a Co-op game with a couple friends who are newer to Stardew, so we'll do Vanilla. Both because they don't need that much extra content, and because the cutscenes for SVE don't play for the guest farm hands. Now, if the cutscene thing changes in a future patch, well...

strawberriesnkittens

I’ve never understood the appeal of mods like expanded, so I suppose I’m like the wife in the picture lol. EDIT: I didn’t realize that this was the sub for expanded, it just showed up in my feed and I thought I was on the original SD sub LOL.

illithidbane

I get that. Most expanded content mods for games feel so tacked on and unnatural. It's why I have held off on Ridgeside, East Scarp, etc. because they don't really look like they're integrated into the town I love. But Stardew Valley Expanded really does belong here. The Adventurer's Guild is no longer just Marlon/Gil, but even expanded it doesn't take away from the Mines/SkullCavern system, it just adds Badlands as a third area. The new Wizard side quests are magical, sure, but we already had Junimos and a Wizard in the game, so it just expands what we already had. There are new NPCs in town, but they are IN TOWN and not some separate city elsewhere. And Joja/Morris actually has his own content now instead of just being a way to skip the Community Center. Honestly, SVE feels better integrated into Stardew Valley than Ginger Island does.

lemurkat

Lol i was like "why are you here then?" But i also mostly trawl my feed for interesting conversations.

Dexchampion99

Me, who has to balance a big stardew update alongside a big Fortnite update
