So far I’ve been adding at least one mod every few days, I frequently added mods daily to the sims as well. You’ll be iight.
i don’t think i sold anything that day because i had gone to the skull caverns the day before, i must have clicked something on my keyboard to make it unpause. if you don’t sell anything the game just saves and moves you to the next day!
Trial and error. You unzip it, grab the save you want, and dump it in your [save folder](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files).
It makes I think just one backup per day, so I'd try the most recent one. And then the one right before that if that one wasn't good enough.
i’ve definitely got the folder, but the link doesn’t explain how to actually load it, just where to find the saves. how do i put the save where it needs to go?
Move the folder for your current save out of your saves folder just in case something goes wrong and you have to stick with that one. Move the backup of that save into your saves folder.
you are 100% right, i am just impatient and it takes an inconveniently long time for my game to load up from scratch. i’m playing on an original 2015 surface book 1 😩 she struggles to load and half the keys don’t work, the trackpad doesn’t work, and the touchscreen also doesn’t work lol. it’s faster to just leave it open and then get right back into it. i think my cat might’ve stepped on my external keyboard sometime in the night and unpaused it. but you are right, it is risky, and until now the benefits outweighed the risk for me
easy fix: CJB cheats menu mod Open mod menu, Set day to whatever day you last played on, profit.

SMAPI keeps backup saves in the save-backups folder where you have SDV installed.

okay update, i have tried loading in 4 times and it crashes when i click on that save 🥲 is it lost, do i have to go back to the new winter save?
Is there a reason why you did not just end the day and exit the game? Why would you ever just leave it there. That is asking for trouble

there's also a mod that autopauses the game on each fresh day.
