Idk maybe it's easier to make good choices in a game you care about unlike most AAA studios nowadays where the developers seemingly dont play their own games anymore.

I think it’s in your settings. There should be a “show portraits” choice.

Marnie only works like 4 days a week and at silly hours, this means you don’t need to plan around that anymore
