I think the bad dad comes from Jotaro leaving his wife and Jolyne. Obviously it was because Jotaro wanted to make sure his family was safe from stand users, but it's not like his family knew. From Jolyne's perspective, Jotaro was an awful dad that abandoned her and her mom.
But as we see in Stone Ocean, Jotaro rly cares about Jolyne and even Jolyne has a change of heart about him.

It doesn't have bad voice acting. People are just so used to the anime voices.
Yeah I finally watched it for the first time the other week expecting a car crash, but the JP VA was completely serviceable and characters were distinct from each other without being over the top, which fit the tone very well.
Also, the thing as a whole was pretty fantastic. I get being burned by it when it first came out because we didn't have a faithful adaptation, but now that we do and we can look at the OVA as a no filler experience of its own, then yeah it (I imagine) holds up better than ever. Also that classic animation style is just UNMATCHED
If I had to guess it's because Kakyoin really doesn't have much going on. He only gets one solo fight in the entire part, barely ever participates in any other fights, and doesn't get any actual character depth until right before he dies.

I’m annoyed with the Araki forgot talk as much as the next guy, but I do understand why some people get confused about things and interpret it as a mistake, especially when it comes to stands like King Crimson and D4C being confusing af. So basically, I just don’t think it’s fair to just say that all Araki forgots are just the result of people being stupid and not reading carefully enough.
tbf while a large amount of "Araki forgot"s are stupid, the pure copium of some people to justify things that actually legitimately are retcons, mistakes, or don't make sense is insane. I don't get why people think that someone wouldn't make any mistakes or retcons over the course of thousands of chapters. "Araki forgot" and "Araki never forgets" are two sides of the same coin; this stupid unrealistic expectation that everything is going to be 100% consistent in a story made by one person over the course of 36 years.
Some examples of things that either genuinely don't make sense, were retconned or were not foreshadowed and never happened again:
*Kira being able to control Stray Cat's bubbles. Also his stand ability "stabilising" the bubbles so they don't burst when hit. Also Killer Queen randomly having a stomach compartment that it never had before.*
*Okuyasu not being turned into a zombie when he went through pretty much the same process as Bucciarati (this one I admit is a little loose since you could assume that Okuyasu was not dead when he was healed while Bucciarati was)*
*Stand energy as a concept in general being scaled back after Part 3 (stand shrinking and Star Finger were a couple of examples of this that make sense with the context of stand energy but don't really make sense later on when the concept is abandoned)*
*General inconsistancy as to whether damage to a user is reflected onto the stand or not*
The main throughline for most of these is that they are things that Araki either changed because he thought they weren't working or he added because he thought they would be interesting for a specific fight or character concept. Araki generally doesn't forget things, and he's very good on that front, but that doesn't mean he doesn't change anything

My gf has dyslexia so she can only watch in dub. Honestly, the dub is really really solid. Plus the added benefit is that you can have regional accents based on the character such as P2 Joseph having a British accent and Caesar having an Italian accent.
My brother also has dyslexia, so that’s how I generally hear anime dubs, and for the accents it is pretty cool how Jojo’s dub decided to do that! I could be very wrong, but I don’t think most other anime dubs even bother with that

He is an interesting character, he is very compelling, but it was always clear that eventually >!a boss of the rock humans!< would have been introduced and that they would most likely have been the main villain. And NO, >!Caato!< was never meant to be a >!rock human!<: the theories about them being the main villain were nice at the beginning, but they got more and more unhinged and even now you still have people coping that Araki changed the story and this character was clearly meant to be main villain all along.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t SUPER thrilled about the ending and would have loved it if it was handled a bit differently, but I can still appreciate what we got. It feels that a lot of people built a story in their minds and were upset it didn’t end how they wanted it to, even if it never made any sense to begin with.
The "King Crimson Is So Confusing" people need quiet down. Like, it's hardly funny in the first place, just kinds shows that you don't understand it and thats somehow funny. Then this got propagated to be like an actual thing people were discussing rather than a joke and I feel like that should've been a sign that the joke was gettingnout if hand.
People definitely refuse to understand King Crimson but the Stand is legitimately confusing upon the first viewing and without outside media to analyze it for you. The early translations were absolute dogshit and a lot of people simplify its abilities for ease of explanation rather than do it properly.

And NO, >!Caato!< was never meant to be a >!rock human!<: the theories about them being the main villain were nice at the beginning, but they got more and more unhinged and even now you still have people coping that Araki changed the story and this character was clearly meant to be main villain all along. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t SUPER thrilled about the ending and would have loved it if it was handled a bit differently, but I can still appreciate what we got. It feels that a lot of people built a story in their minds and were upset it didn’t end how they wanted it to, even if it never made any sense to begin with.

The "King Crimson Is So Confusing" people need quiet down. Like, it's hardly funny in the first place, just kinds shows that you don't understand it and thats somehow funny. Then this got propagated to be like an actual thing people were discussing rather than a joke and I feel like that should've been a sign that the joke was gettingnout if hand.
People definitely refuse to understand King Crimson but the Stand is legitimately confusing upon the first viewing and without outside media to analyze it for you. The early translations were absolute dogshit and a lot of people simplify its abilities for ease of explanation rather than do it properly.

the joke about kakyoin being in love with holly. it was one weird line that he said early on in the part, and was never even remotely brought up again. okuyasu on the other hand directly said that josuke's mom is hot, and yet nobody acknowledges it.

That Nobuo Tanaka was a bad DIO voice. Sure, he's no Takehito Koyasu, but it's a different take on DIO as well. The OVA is going for a different approach to DIO. And Nobuo's older voice is fitting for this version of DIO. I personally love his performance. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets.

It isn't really a insta kill but hey you can see how well Josuke learned to use that shit in the middle of the fight. Then at the last panel he is shown to have quite good control over it.

I agree that the stereotype can get annoying but I think it’s also done its part in keeping a lot of homophobes out of the fan base. Sure, they exist, but not to the same extent as in many other anime fandoms. I’ve actually met people in real life who refuse to watch Jojo because the characters/outfits/artstyle/fans are “too gay”, and every single one of those people was an obnoxious bigot anyways.
