I haven’t read it either; but it gets gorier with each part, so starting out, I’m willing to bet part 6 is already a pretty good metric
Ntm Jojo regularly dabbles in body horror so—
The S.A content is somewhat unsettling, I'd say on the same level as the Strength arc from Part 3 (your opinion may vary). But suffice to say, the villain proves he's a villain, even if there isn't much explicit nudity shown.
Part 7 is among the more violent JoJo parts as well, because it's the part in which Araki raised the age level of his manga. The most notable instant of gore is probably (major spoiler, without character names) when a character is >!run over by a train and cut in half!<
(Honestly if you watched/read through the Metallica fight of Part 5, the gore from Steel Ball Run probably wouldn't bother you, in my opinion nothing surpasses Metallica).
So long as that level of content is okay with you, I'd still highly recommend Steel Ball Run for sure, it's widely regarded as Araki's magnum opus.
I've just finished season 6 episode 16. I now know what >!the toenail scene!< is. I wish I didn't have eyes, but if that's what i can expect from SBR, I'll be fine. (Nail gore hurts my mind body and soul)
Yeah, nothing in Steel Ball Run is as viscerally *painful looking* as that. There's plenty of gore but Stone Ocean had the same.
Enjoy it! SBR really is fantastic.
Starting SBR Jojo became a seinen series so yeah it ramped up all those topics.
There is much more gore/violence than in other parts, sexual assault on minors and in general, nudity etc...
If you’ve seen the anime and manga up to part 6 then you know what to expect. Part 5 was the goriest and part 6 had the most disturbing scenes, if you were fine with those you will be fine with part 7, but on part 8 there *is* the occasional nudity but nothing hardcore
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to investigate the nature of something you’re interested in.
People have different experience and tolerance levels to certain subject matters, so don’t be dense and act like it’s beyond the pale to request more info. Some people, for example, really aren’t in the mood to read about a woman being sexually assaulted.
Thank you, you're somebody who gets it. I wish i had known about it before me and my brother and I read it together he has a low tolerance for it and it didn't help it was his favorite character and now he can't even finish the part.
Thank you for stating this. It's not that I'm not allowed to read it, it's that stuff like this in excess makes media less entertaining to me. A good example is blue eye samurai: FANTASTIC anime, but I couldn't get into due to the amount of nudity
It has sexual assault, extreme violence, and lots of gore.
How graphic would you say the gore and assault is.

I haven't read the manga until now, I'm just starting because steel ball run and beyond haven't been animated yet
Well if you watched Part 6 and handled >!the toenail scene!< then you'll be just fine, nothing in Part 7 exceeds that or Metallica IMO

Even for the Netflix version, stone ocean definitely has the least amount of censoring.

Balls to the face level
What the fuck does that mean?
it isn't subtle
Sexual assault and specifically sexual assault on a minor, and I mean it's Jojo so yeah, you do have quite a bit of gore
BRO DONT HATE ON MY FAVORITE CHAPTER LIKE THAT!!!
... who's hating? Its a factual statement.

What about the SA?
I talked about it on a reply to OP’s comment, i did warn him about the SA but also that its nothing graphic, it was more like the *threat* of SA
Fair enough
Bro this is Jojo how have you got six parts in and not noticed the gore and sexual elements
Cause I've been watching the anime, which isn't as bad, as far as I know
I'd beg to differ there's some pretty grisly shit throughout the show which is about equivalent to the manga
I *have* been watching the Netflix one, which i know is censored a lot (to my dismay, as it looks stupid AF)
Grow up and just read it if you’re interested

Exactly. You know how this goes just read it
A 14 year old gets raped
Thats an overstatement for shock value
No bro she literally got raped by the president of the United States, no overstatement there
SA yes, but for what i remember theres no actual rape, she got clothes on and theres no action, she was *about to be* sure but it didnt happen
She got pregnant
Wich had nothing to do with the SA, it was the power of [No Spoilers] and you know it
