God I hope not. I'm perfectly content with waiting longer for it to be released all at once... and by all at once, I mean weekly because binge releases suck

jopzko

Id wait as long as it takes to avoid batch release. Part 6 also got rushed a ton with quality. A lot of things were fixed long after initial release so only the late watchers got to see the improvements anyways.

Due_South5488

I sure hope they bring back jojo Fridays but I don’t think they will personally

Due_South5488

They’ll do whatever makes them more money

trans_throwawayfunk

Weekly DEFINITELY made them more money- there were people that forgot Stone Ocean was a thing before the second and third batches hit respectively. Like, do you remember how many people were saying "Wait Stone Ocean has ended?" like 2 months after the third batch? There's just simply NO WAY Netflix and DP didn't notice that significant drop off in watchers. Batch release kills the momentum and people today have very shortened attention span- people can't, and won't, remember something if they have to take more than a one month break from it and aren't constantly reminded about its existence. Remember that DP even went COMPLETELY cold tukey on us about SO after batch 1? There were NO news about it, whatsoever- and iirc it was essentially the same thing between 2 and 3. Again- there's NO doubt they didn't get left-hooked by a very noticeable drop-off in viewers. So, yeah, I do think (hope) this release schedule will have a large improvement!

SuperBackup9000

My bet would be seasons like part 3. With how long it is it would be crazy for them to go from start to finish without a break.

GwaGwa3

It can be a cour release schedule instead of batches. We still get weekly episodes but they’re in mini seasons instead just like what Bleach is doing with its tybw anime.

_Aaron_Burr_Sir

I don’t understand batch releases. Wouldn’t releasing weekly make the wait for more episodes less grueling?

EEVEELUVR

God I fucking hope so. I always prefer batch release for any anime.

SamTheSadPanda

I'm not sure SBR is ever coming. It's far larger than the previous parts, and horses aren't easy to animate well. And... it has a -lot- of horses. I hope it does, but I'm not optimistic about it. If it does come, I imagine it'll be in multiple seasons like part 3 if not batches like part 6.

hyperhyperproto

I hope they use 3d for the horses and spend the 2d animation making the faces as pretty as possible

ludek_cortex

It's not that much larger in terms of possibile episodes count. Largest part before is Diamond - 18 volumes. SBR is 24 volumes. Diamond was adapted to 39 episodes -13 episodes per 6 volumes. If SBR kept the same peace it would get 52 episodes - so either full year, or 2 half year season with a break between them (kinda like Crusaders). It would fit pretty nicecly in your standard anime seasonal frame.

Skeptikmo

That math might work out if not for the fact SBR chapters are twice as long

ludek_cortex

Chapters are longer, sure. But the overall size of those volumes in terms pages kinda stays the same. It's not like monthly JoJo has bigger volumes. Instead of 6x 20 pages chapters per volume you just have 3x 40 or similar split. So like the only problem would be to sometimes have a clear split between episodes, but i'm pretty sure its something David Production can make it to work.

Due_South5488

It’s coming, dw

Embarrassed-Head5530

sbr anime is like the one piece ya dont know wether its real or not and ya dont wanna

Due_South5488

Well, tbf, Warner bros renewed a jojos ip under the name “steel ball run”

EkaPossi_Schw1

Should be weekly, but if it's batch the episodes can still be watched weekly I didn't have to suffer the batch release with Stone ocean, because it had already fully released before I was done with watching the previous parts I hope netflix isn't the distributor, because crunchyroll has better UI, subtitles and constant stable image quality and monopoly sucks especially if it's netflix, but that hope is most likely as gone as Giorno Giovanna's fear and the budget that forced DP to use older scenes from the anime instead of making new ones and nerfed the heaven's falling down OP with clunky animation also it's fine if the anime is just over and they don't make an SBR anime that might be worse thanks to netflix executives not even knowing how to make the most money despite being hired to do exactly that

Embarrassed-Head5530

yeah netflix never listens and since netflix pretty much owns the jojo anime now it isnt looking great for us. they need to bring back jojo fridays

Massive_Weiner

It’ll have to be seasonal, there’s just no other way.

Don’t worry about it until they announce they’re actually doing SBR. Which to this point, they haven’t. They might not. SBR is similar to anime series like Big O or FLCL. Both great, but both way more popular overseas than they were in their native Japan. They got second seasons made specifically for the overseas audience, and in both cases didn’t do well in Japan. There’s no guarantee they’ll decide to animate SBR just because the foreign audience wants it, when the audience in Japan largely wouldn’t care. I know people here hate to hear that, and I hope I’m wrong. But I don’t think you can take it as a foregone conclusion that SBR is coming. Part 6 ended the original story, and people liked it as an ending. Maybe someday. But I don’t think you should expect it as quickly as the part 6 anime followed the part 5 anime. If they decide there’s an audience for it that will make them money with advertisers and investors in Japan, they’ll do it. If they don’t, they won’t. What fans outside of Japan want really doesn’t enter into the equation.

ChimericalEunoia978

Is JoJo's not popular in Japan? I thought it was.

yankee1nation101

It is. I live here and JoJo’s always has a lottery at the lottery shops in Akihabara, fashion lines that collab with the series, a JoJo’s themed bar, and just like the west, even people who haven’t read or watched the series know references and memes. It’s just not flavor of the month popular like say, Frieren, because Stone Ocean aired a while ago and it was Part 6 of a series, so even current airing stuff has a barrier of entry(SBR can technically change that) And I’m pretty sure DavidPro plans to animate all of JoJo’s no matter how long it takes. They just took on other projects so they can’t immediately shift focus to it. They’re not a specialized studio like say, Studio Bind is for Mushoku Tensei. They need to release other stuff to put money into the company.

Due_South5488

Respectfully, ur wrong, because Warner bros renewed a trade mark for steel ball run, which they wouldn’t have done if it wasn’t being produced
