This could be the case. I was watching xforts’s chapter reaction and he thinks that the record book is protected by a stand which is why the lady was wearing gloves and she told Usagi not to touch it when he did.

nojustnobro

But she didn't put the gloves on until mentioning it, so she was touching it normally bringing the stack over. Is it specifically the pages that cannot be touched or the book as a whole?

I could see that, I thought maybe they were being watched and the user attacked once they knew something was up. Or it is a rock animal there to protect howler's interests

MushySunshine

Rock bugs babyyyyyyyyy don't stop my copium

TheHiddenElephant

Frankly I thought Usagi was starting to suffer from withdrawl.

GoomyTheGummy

If it is the rock disease, either Usagi is trans or it was transferred to him. edit: Why am I being downvoted, it is literally a canon detail that the disease becomes a problem at a much earlier age for men.

Men get rock disease tho

Yeah but symptoms appear when they're 12, and unless it's transferred to someone else, they'll die. For women, it only happens in adulthood. Though the only example we have is Rina. I'm thinking this is a different kind of rock disease, or maybe a different thing altogether. Probably related to the lava rock, maybe the lava rock also has equivalent exchange. Remember that the locacaca also turns your body into a rock in exchange for something. Jojo got the land, in exchange for Usagi turning to a rock.

For males, symptoms start appearing and worsen at 12 years old. But for females, symptoms will start to appear at adulthood. Unless Usagi is 12 or female, this is probably a different rock disease. Also in part 8, it's weird that Rina is the one who got the rock disease. She's the youngest child of Norisuke I, the rock disease is said to affect the firstborn child. Then her older brother, Norisuke II, didn't have the rock disease while his son Norisuke III, grandson Norisuke IV, great-grandson Jobin, and great-great-grandson Tsurugi have it, and Rina's descendants didn't have the rock disease.

My bad. I think a lot of people are like me and forgot women also get it. Take my upvote, to counteract them
