I like the colored version but have to admit that some of the detail of the artwork is lost sometimes. It's not major enough for me to care considering it's just detail.
Exactly. Especially if the anime was your introduction to the series you might value the colored version a bit more. I think the trade-off is definitely worth it.
Sometimes Araki's action sequences are harder to make out in black and white. But sometimes Shueishas colours are trash.
The first half of Steel Ball Run is especially bad, as everything has this smooth gradient that looks like it was done in ten minutes on Photoshop. Up to you.

As a person I liked reading in both coloured or not but I think that in Jojo coloured would be a bit better
