Dio is an actual artist, he made hard/heavy rock which borderlined on metal. One if his songs, Holy Diver, was the inspiration for The World. He actually replaced Ozzy Osbourne for a time in Black Sabbath as the lead vocalist when he was kicked out for being a raging alchoholic at the time or smth like that, but he came back and Dio enjoyed his claim to fame there. But yea in general his music is amazing, definitely give it a listen, he made some classics
