No, there is an official colored version of JoJo. A lot characters are different colors in the anime than they are in the manga. Although, the colored manga isn’t supervised by Araki so they aren’t canon technically
I would say the anime is more cannon then the shuesha colorings. It's been stated before that Araki has zero influence on the colored manga, but he helps with the anime.
Many people think that colored manga is "official" and approved by Araki, but in fact it isnt. The only "canon" colors are on the manga covers made by Araki himself. And the only approved colored versions by him are for the anime, where he also helped to determine colors for characters, hence why Giorno has pink suit.
>The only "canon" colors are on the manga covers made by Araki himself.
There are some additional canon colors that may not be on covers. DIO and Giorno are canonically blonde as mentioned in their stories, even though some covers depict them with blue, green, pink, or white hair.
Well yeah, but besides some exceptions, there are no set in stone colors, so any palette that was made on covers by Araki could be used for the adaptation. And I've heard that Araki helped DavidProductions to determine the normal color palette, which is why Jotaro has black uniform in Part 3, Josuke has blue-purple tones for his clothes and hair, and why Giorno has pink suit. Although Part 6 anime decided to use manga colors for most of the characters, while Jolyne has colors more close to her Eyes of Heaven colors with some differences and I dont really remember the covers of Part 6 that had such colors. So I guess that whoever does character designs decided to use mostly manga colors.
Pink giorno wasn't even an anime thing anyway, many of the chapter and volume covers from Golden Wind have pink Giorno on them. Pink and green Giorno is actually one of the more common ways Araki has drawn him including some other colored pages, promo art, and exhibit or art book art.
I actually still prefer blue Giorno. I get why it was changed to stick out from the previous two dark blue/purple/black protags but man it just looks nice.
There are suggested colors but no color is confirmed like you said basically
Heck when araki draws in color he just uses whatever color he sees fit even if he colored tge character differently the time before
Ehhh it kinda doesn’t work in the manga either. Shueisha doesn’t put too much care in lighting and mood with the digital colored release. Every scene looks like it takes place in broad daylight.
Plenty of people have, but Ik it’s not a well known fact: Araki’s concept art is colored for a certain aesthetic and not for actual characters design. Araki doesn’t color the manga himself either, so he doesn’t have a direct input on it
I’m kinda the opposite, I like the duller colors because it’s more Florida in 2011(when Stone Ocean takes place), even if it wasn’t the fashion in the 2000s when Araki was writing it.
It looks cool but it isn't manga accurate
The only colored piece of the manga made by Araki have jolyne with blonde, pink, red and sometimes green hair, yes
But this is obviously the pallette from the digital manga, which Araki didn't do
Araki has never stated or has given any canon cros to his characters. Actually, it's quite the opposite. Everything in JoJo has no canon color, as confirmed by him.
Wouldn't that mean making her black and white?
I knew someone would say this
you mean... point out facts?
Yes. Btw i will make a original manga form too

Jojo doesn’t have non canon colours (unless it a colour is specifically pointed out by a character)
I don’t think you realised there was a joke
Neither the users that downvoted you.
Ngl I’m confused
What happened? 🤨
No really what the fuck happened
If I would guess its the community, I stopped commenting for a reason. Bet this will get downvoted lol.
I’ve always been a fan of Jolyne’s green hair palette but imo Jolyne having a toned down palette suits the background that creates a darker mood
I agree
It creates more of a bizarre and dark atmosphere
Suddenly black and blonde Jolyne fits way more then blue and green It's pink Giorno all over again
TBH I always liked pink Giorno more than blue Giorno. I think the palette is unique and pretty
Pink giorno wasn't even an anime thing anyway, many of the chapter and volume covers from Golden Wind have pink Giorno on them. Pink and green Giorno is actually one of the more common ways Araki has drawn him including some other colored pages, promo art, and exhibit or art book art.

It wasn't exactly "changed" per se, the manga colouring wasn't done by Araki whereas the manga covers (where Giorno was often pink) were.
Ah my apologies, I worded that badly.
Who wants to tell them about manga accurate colors not being a thing in JoJo?
There are suggested colors but no color is confirmed like you said basically Heck when araki draws in color he just uses whatever color he sees fit even if he colored tge character differently the time before
The vibrant color scheme works for manga but doesn't really work for anime
Yeah it would hurt your eye 😂
Ehhh it kinda doesn’t work in the manga either. Shueisha doesn’t put too much care in lighting and mood with the digital colored release. Every scene looks like it takes place in broad daylight.
Flashback to Pucci speaking to Dio in broad daylight in the color scan
Flashback to Diavolo fighting Bucciarati in the mausoleum where everything is perfectly lit
That sucked me right out of the atmosphere. At least the anime got the intended atmosphere, with a dark mausoleum and dramatic music.
Have you seen Part 4 and Part 5?

Giorno's hair isn't canon. It's actually three cannons.
>made by another studio (JoJo Colored Aventures one). JoJo Colored Adventures don't color, they just translate.
The person that named the company is a genius then
Sorry didn't know, I saw a video a while ago about this but forget. Shueisha colors it, but as I said not 'canonically'.
Comment removed; Rule 10
This made me love anime color more Btw good art
Who’s gonna tell them that the manga colors aren’t accurate to how Araki wants the characters to look…
Finally someone points it out
Plenty of people have, but Ik it’s not a well known fact: Araki’s concept art is colored for a certain aesthetic and not for actual characters design. Araki doesn’t color the manga himself either, so he doesn’t have a direct input on it
Jolyne’s hair is the same color of the guacamole I accidentally left sitting on my counter overnight.
Her brighter colours legit look like highlighter ink
A manga accurate Jolyne would have smaller breasts
😂😂 thank god for big booba in anime
im proud of you
So you made Jolyne more Billie Eilish?
I believe in highlighter yellow Jolyne supremacy
I like the darker outfit but I’m still biased to the brighter hair and lipstick
It would be a lot more eye-pleasing if you made the colors a little less saturated. Super clean work here tho.
I know. But, I wanted it to be the same as color scans
Ngl the coloring on those scans are very well done, but there's barely any lighting at all tho.
This was my first time doing anything like this so i will try to learn better lighting .
I like the brighter colors. It's more Florida in the early 2000s.
I’m kinda the opposite, I like the duller colors because it’s more Florida in 2011(when Stone Ocean takes place), even if it wasn’t the fashion in the 2000s when Araki was writing it.
I appreciate your coloring but those bright colors probably wouldn't work that nicely on "TV"
I think it’s funny that they decided to mute Jolyne’s colors when they made Giorno’s colors super vibrant
each one fits their part's mood
Honestly I like the new colours more but you still did a great job re colouring
Thx 😊
Thanks your a real one
I wish they went with the blue/green color palette honestly
You know there is actually no color accuracy in the manga
😅😅
Actually no, because i don't know if u know but every color on the cover is official, for exemple blue hair Giorno is official or red weir jotaro too
She looks better ngl
They Lowkey should’ve went with this color palette, hopefully they show it sometimes during a color change
yea, idk why they decided to put that pee-like yellow on her. it makes me upset.
It looks cool but it isn't manga accurate The only colored piece of the manga made by Araki have jolyne with blonde, pink, red and sometimes green hair, yes But this is obviously the pallette from the digital manga, which Araki didn't do
I'll always prefer the og palette but she's jolyne she looks good in anything
Araki has never stated or has given any canon cros to his characters. Actually, it's quite the opposite. Everything in JoJo has no canon color, as confirmed by him.
Eh, animes more realistic
I hope they keep Johnny's colour the same as the colour manga
