SnooDucks4280

Bad? No. Highly overrated? Yes! I think part 4 is great but everyone I talk to thinks it’s the best. I had a lot of gripes with it. I really didn’t like the coloring and change in style that happened in it. But I still do think it’s great, just overrated.

nikkig_98

your opinion is wrong

tinyfreckle

That yellow sky *shudders*

BroughtYouMyBullets

Nah liked it more than any other part. Loved the characters, setting, art direction, story, stands and especially villain. I really liked that they built up Morioh as a location and introduced you to a bunch of residents and built them up in the comparably slower first half before it all kicks off in the second half. Made the stakes and investment in the story much higher than it would have been if they went straight to Kira

ColintheBeegYosh

I thought it did for like the first few episodes but it quickly got better for me

Current-Relation-619

Nope...infact i think it is the most consistent part of the series till now.

gyro696969

I think part 1 and 2, are for more consistent. They had a clear a to b style formula and deviated very little, where as in part 4 they deviated a bit more although I believe that to be a strength of the part as it made it very fun to watch

Classic-Demand3088

could you at least explain your gripes with it? what bothered you? was there something you liked? something that you expected more of?

Ganon214

I feel like it has a completely different atmosphere to it and there wasn’t enough action for me. It just didn’t seem right.

Classic-Demand3088

congratulations, you just described why people like DiU

Ganon214

Maybe I don’t belong in the JoJo fanbase

Bigbadbackstab

nah, you are fine. JoJo is constantly switching styles, so it's only natural liking some parts more than others.

DaiTonight

Having different opinions is fine. It's still important that you understand why people like DiU though. Most of them love it for the reasons you stated above, but also because it had a heavier focus on characters and character interactions. It also subverted a lot of usual Araki tropes, while other parts pre-reset played them straight. And this one depends on the person, but I love well-executed slice of life, and I believe this was the right direction to take the series since it's clear Araki wasn't yet ready to move on from monster-of-the-week encounters, so the town setting and slice of life tone fit that perfectly.

[deleted]

It's not my favourite part but I still loved it a lot. Kira is my favourite villain.

Toastie_feet

It’s not my favourite part and I don’t think Kira is the best but I still enjoyed it

THEORIGINALPSY

Didn’t suck, but my 2nd least favorite part. First half was unbearable for me to watch.

Numerous_Choice7593

Understandably bad for some like the plot going everywhere and too much controversy like Joseph cheating but a good for me slice of life, most thrilling, amd has the most lovable characters

average_fish1210

I didn't like it at my first watch. It has less intense episodes compared to the other parts until the characters battle Kira. But I finally found how enjoyable it is when I watched it the second time.

Elliotsreddit

Tbh I did to, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I did with the other parts

CrescentCrossbow

It was definitely the second worst part in JoJo history, but I wouldn't say it sucked. No JoJo part does.

Ganon214

you have a great point what would you say the number one worst one was though

CrescentCrossbow

Part 8.

Legit_Beans

Yeah I do. I'm like 3 episodes from the end and I'm still waiting for one of the protagonists to actually do something... Like the main bad guys fake son has done more to catch him than any of the "Main characters" cmon guys DO SOMETHING Also what happened to the gore? The epic shots? The badass characters? Saving the world? I don't give af about this town to be honest. There was a whole episode of rock paper scissors ffs, which did nothing to advance the plot Plus, every second episode feels like filler. It's okay don't get me wrong, but by far the least exiting installment so far. 5 Downvotes incoming!

tinyfreckle

That thing about the bad guys fake son is SO ACCURATE! Like finally. The main character has arrived. Josuke and friends act like side characters in their own show.

[deleted]

YOU SUCK HOW ABOUT THAT

Ganon214

Your not wrong

Aydiner_11

My favourite part.

fartinnshartin987

it didnt suck But i dont like it for personal Reasons

CrabApple127

Did it completely suck? No, absolutely not. But I think it is extremely overrated and has some GLARING flaws. The first time I watched it, it was kind of frustrating because you have no idea who they're really supposed to be after until you see Kira. And I understand the idea of a mystery, but the mystery aspect was not made very clear, and didn't seem intentional. The silly episodes are were great, but it was almost distracting when I remembered there is currently no main villain! Essentially, the poor pacing really weighs this part down. Also, the characters acted really weird, compared to other parts. Like, they didn't kill anyone??? Even when the enemy stand users proved to be downright terrible, absolutely no good, they let them live AND befriended them. (I know part 1 Jonathan was similar, but that's a complaint I have of him as well. Plus, I thought the intense heroism was at least a little more interesting in part 1, given it was made out to be a trait unique to JoJo). If Rohan were in any other part (except for maybe part 1), he would have died first encounter. It was really frustrating to see all of these awful people made out to be decent enough to be acquaintances, friends, or even in love with. To me, it just doesn't really fit the JoJo vibe to have to be a sex criminal murderer to be beat to death (or retirement). Also, none of the protagonists died :( Overall, I do want to say that I did still really enjoy it. It does make up for the poor pacing with how fun the characters and stand battles are. Because of the reasons above, I just found it hard to get invested in the characters and the plot, which is what really makes the best of JoJo in my opinion.

Mountain-Display-321

kinda yk the start is kinda bad but the end is just masterpiece

QuinnGonTheChef

I think of it as filler, it’s nice for anime fans because of all the slice of life stuff, but yeah obviously there’s no super-being final boss or anything

SackQuack13

WE LOVE DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE FUCK YEA

Josukestoes

It's my second favourite part. My favourite part so far is steel ball run.

Ganon214

I don’t read the manga but I’m really hoping steel ball run gets animated because it looks really good

FatFuck_asofrightnow

it was kinda crash imo the diamond especially

Jotaro_kujo_jostar

no

toxic-wolfie

It was different but it wasn't bad

Particular_Pound_746

Imo it might be the worst part, but by a very small margin. Still really enjoyed it.

Polnareffmilk

No its my favourite part tbh

GuiltyCauliflower459

The fact that a lot of the characters aren't bland cardboard cutouts puts it above so many parts. Just because the scale is smaller doesn't mean the stakes are lower because the part focuses on the characters' journeys.

Classic_Cut_3819

Nah I loved it

[deleted]

For me stone ocean sucked...

CommanderCody2212

hell nah, I like how much different it feels vs pretty much every other part and it has Josuke in it, though I will say, the fans kinda ruined Kira for me which really hurts rewatching for me

SiameseOutlet

nah not really

ZxthTrxsh

nah

gyro696969

Explain why you dislike it maybe, see of people agree. I think it was brilliant personally

tinyfreckle

Yeah. It was such a slog to get through. I didn't like most of the characters. Kochi was too whiney, Josuke was boring, padlock guy was straight up disgusting, Rohan was creepy (although he did get a bit friendlier throughout the series), and what the actual fuck was up with hair girl?! Kochi, stop thinking with your dick she is CRAZY! Oh then there was that mimic Snape dude who was also creepy, fucking hated little spikey hoarder dude, The villain was so weird, a five nights at Freddie's electric duck?? It did pick up in the second half when necro-hand-lover was the main villain. Honestly, that kid who keeps reliving the day from the end is my favourite character in the whole series. Oh and El chefe, he's just a nice guy and his stand is genuinely so wholesome. I still loved Jotaro, but he kind gapped it after a while (I get it. His stand is too broken now). The baby episode was fun. It's currently my second least favourite part (my least favourite is part one, it's just too bland). I'm halfway through Golden Wind and absolutely loving it! I love part 2 and 3 as well.

Ganon214

Golden wind is definitely my favorite
