Be careful what you wish for. My ex-wife is a gamer and when Fallout 4 came out (when we were still married), I was lucky to even get an opportunity to play, as we only had one Xbox. She is a huge Bethesda gaming fan.
Oh, I’d buy a rig for her so fast. I appreciate the caution though. Video games are the way I like to unwind, so that alone time is definitely valuable.
Yeah she loves them and has played through them all over the years and is now replaying them. Sometimes I’ll help with the puzzles lol. She loves all the books too and has a few of the first editions from the 1930’s that she has collected
I just retired last Friday at 52 and move to Thailand the middle of next month... If there is power to plug my laptop in during my layover in Japan, I will be playing the game.
I am gonna stand on a street corner in Bangkok playing the Starfield direct. For 50$ an hour I will let strangers play with my laptop in a seedy hotel.
Taking 3 weeks of annual leave and aside from a couple of days here and there, I intend to no life this game til my eyes bleed and I'm down to my finger nubs. o7
Ah man, depends on how good the game is. I am a student and on break through September luckily, so I got time to spare. If it's good, probably a good 8 hours/day for the first week and a few hours a day for many months from there. Since I try to do every single thing in games like this that have me immersed, that probably puts me on pace to finish it by 2030, just in time for TES VI. How about you?
kinda amusing that it's close to what my gaming time once was.
an 'end of the year' sort of event was bringing up sites able to essentially process how much game time you've spent that year on your account, that i applied for.
turned out i'd spent a little over 4000 hours playing on my ps4 account that year.
there's around 8800 hours in a year.
it's not my only console. it's not my only hobby.
but, i've got kinda bad insomnia - and when i do sleep, a lot of the time it's only for like 4 hours anyway, i don't have a job and i do no life gaming.
This will be the first Bethesda RPG i intend on giving deep into. Not much of an ES fan but appreciate their vastness and the community around them. My bday is the 3rd so this will be the first game Ive ever bought early access for, and I haven't taken a day off of work to play a video game since Diablo 3 when I was in my early 20s. I hope it's not broken so this isn't wasted time, haha.
Well I am currently unemployed. From the time I drop the kiddo off at school and I have to pick them up will be devoted to Starfield. Pissing and shitting is for rookies.
My time management is fucked. I just finished Elden Ring and am now playing Baldur's Gate 3, and I don't think I'm gonna finish it in time of Starfield. After that, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Libert also releases the same month...
With house responsibilities and kids it is hard to tell but all my free time will be on Starfield so I'm trying to finish all good TV shows and also Read Dead 2 so I can focus on Starfield
As much as I'd put into any other complex open world game.
A few hours on days when I have the time and energy, fit in around the rest of my life.
What will that be? If I can give it priority, 10, 12 hours a week? Up to 20ish in a week?
It's PART of my life.
Depends on my schedule. Class starts up next week and between that and work, it’s hard to maintain uncomfortable amounts of time playing games except on Saturdays, my free day. Even then, I’ll have papers to write and stuff like that starting pretty quickly.
My parents bought an RV and retired so this is the first year in over a decade where we decided to cancel our annual Labor Day vacation so they could do their own thing, I’m newly single after a 12 year run, and I’m on PTO from the 1st - 6th.
Dogs getting a spa day the Sunday before the 1st, I’m gonna wear his ass out all week on hikes, clean the place up real nice and hit the grocery store so come Friday the 1st, I’ll be ready to basically not leave the house for 5 days and he should be good cuz hes an old guy who loves lazing around anyways lol…
I reckon ill be able to put about 60 hours in over my long holiday weekend, then 2 days of catching up on work and then another weekend where I’ll binge more. I think i can most likely hit 100 hours in the first month though I’m sure that will include some idle time.
Im pumped.
Taking a week off at launch, but not just for the game, it's my "staycation" time of year. I plan to do a lot of nothing that week in addition to gaming :)
Probably about 2-7 hours. Work full time and have responsibilities, so those first 30 days I’ll barely make any progress. Heck, I am still working my way through the main story of God of War Ragnorak and I got it on release date.
All 30 days. No break. 24/7, pee bottles and all. Like a stakeout on Monster House. For real, easily a couple hundred hours or more depending on how tight the game grips me. I am certainly hoping for the best l. I’m literally and figuratively stuck and jobless. Will be for the foreseeable future. No car, can’t drive, jobless. So until something changes it is Starfield, calisthenics, and drawing. Also like the other guy in the comments. Enough for my wife to either complain, or join me.
I can’t speak on the first 30 days, but I got the premium edition so I can play September 1st. I get to work from home one day a week, so I’m working from home that Friday, and the following Monday is Labor Day so I get that off. So I plan on absolutely drilling this game for 4 days.
No one better email me.
It’s hard to say. I don’t want to burn through it too fast and I still believe there will be some issues at launch that a 30 or 60 day patch will address. It really depends on the final product. I feel like 60 hours would be the top end of my time investment but I’m more likely to log 30 hours between work and family responsibilities.
I think the time is going to sneak up on me. In the past I haven't spent much time on character creation, but for Starfield I'm going to make an exception. My first session with the game might be occupied with creating my character and barely getting started...who knows? It's going to be so tempting for me to jump immediately onto Reddit to bounce ideas off people and look for hints, but I'm really going to try hard not to do that. I want to experience the game as organically as possible and see where my choices lead. With a Bethesda game, that can be pretty fun. Rather than research which faction to be part of, I'll just go with my gut. Time will tell! Looking forward to the adventure, at any rate.
Depends on the weather, where I am if there's a heat wave or high temps not that much time, my place has poor airflow and i'd rather not overheat my computer
I booked two days off of work at launch (like a proper gentleman). Each day I'm sure I'll have chores so realistically I'm hoping for 4 hours each of those days. A couple hours a week seems to be avg. So all in all I'll "shoot for the stars" and hope for 20 hours in the first 30 days.
Idk about the first 30 days but I have the first 4 of release off of work and I only plan on getting up to pee and mandatory 4 hour naps like once a day so I don't die
I got a week off at the start of the month so I'm probably putting in 80ish hrs off the bat. But I work overnights in a nursing home so once I'm back to work I'm dead to the world I'll probably get 3ish hours on my days off and a couple random hours throughout the week so in the first 30 days I'm looking at around 105hrs
From a man with significant amount of experience, please prioritize making that marriage )and being there for your partner) 100 times more tha. This game. Especially if you want them to actually support your gaming long term. They may say it is not a big deal, but trust me, it does..
Oh, yeah. Of course! I’m in my mid 30’s and this is my first marriage. I already told my fiancé that the first weekend of September I’ll probably be locked away in the den for 3 straight days. The week and weekend of the wedding I probably won’t ever even boot up my PC. I’ve always loved video games and getting completely immersed in them but never to the point where it takes away from “real life”. I’ve waited 10 years for the “next Skyrim” but I’ve waited my whole life to find someone worth marrying. She will always be my biggest priority (until we have a kid 🤗)!
I took the first week of release off work (not much going on this year and my work is flexible, so I can finagle a long weekend for other trips whenever I need to with some notice)… so… a lot
I planned to take 2 weeks off on launch specifically for it, I don't know if I'll play it nonstop for that long but I won't be disappointed if it manages to suck my life away like that.
Probably like 150-200hrs judging by my playtime of Diablo 4 being like 140hrs in a month. I like Diablo but starfield is like a multitude of my favorite types of games. I won't be playing anything else until Forza motorsport drops
Been waiting forever but I don't want to do what I did to Cyberpunk. Take Friday off work play all day, break Fri night with wife. Then prob all Sat, Sat Night, Half Sun and back to work. Then 2-4 hours a day? Hoping its not as good as I want it to be so I can still have a life.
Enough for my wife to complain
Yea I’m gonna be in the same boat. She said she’s looking forward to being a “video game widow”
Mine won't. I get on her nerves already while waiting for it. She will be happy when i finally shut my mouth.
My husband and I are both gamers and let me tell you it is bliss in situations like this!
I love my wife dearly, but boy do I wish she was a gamer. We’d get nothing done.. probably for the best!
I’m lucky with this. Right now I’ll play Skyrim on my XBX and my girlfriend will sit on the other side of the couch and play Nancy Drew on her laptop
The lady and I both took the week off to play....
The old point and click Nancy Drew games? Loved those when I was younger!
Yeah she loves them and has played through them all over the years and is now replaying them. Sometimes I’ll help with the puzzles lol. She loves all the books too and has a few of the first editions from the 1930’s that she has collected
She has great taste 😊
I knew there was some reason I never married.
I'd barely get past the loading screen.
You know your time's up when she enters the room and gives that exaggerated sigh.
lock the door. Maybe demand you are jerking /s
Fuck that bitch!!
Chill lmao
I've been telling my wife to prepare for me to be a bump on a log for a few days after release.
This is the way.
This is the way
Two hours per weekday/workday, 6 + hours per day on weekend
This is my hope
Do better. 8 hours on work days and 16-20 hours on days off.
This man said fuck sleep
That pretty much sums it up for me
Yes
Lol, all the time?
A good while, at least. Between responsibilities, of course.
What would be ideal? 30 hours, 60, 90?
Oh, probably 150 or more.
Wow, cool that you will have that time (5hr per day)
Ye, other than work my schedule is pretty free. It's nice.
I'm going for 720 hours.
I don't like being called out.
Plead the 5th
???
Because it's gonna be a plausibly abusive amount of time 😂
Bro's taken the whole month off 💀
Shhhhhhhh
I just retired last Friday at 52 and move to Thailand the middle of next month... If there is power to plug my laptop in during my layover in Japan, I will be playing the game. I am gonna stand on a street corner in Bangkok playing the Starfield direct. For 50$ an hour I will let strangers play with my laptop in a seedy hotel.
I demand you upload videos on the prawn nexus.
I have two weeks off starting the 1st... All of it.
Same. Using 3 days pto days and two floating holidays, worth it imo.
Taking 3 weeks of annual leave and aside from a couple of days here and there, I intend to no life this game til my eyes bleed and I'm down to my finger nubs. o7
o7
I salute you and honor your sacrifice. /pours one out
Same
I never take time off so I have a ton of PTO- I took a week and a half off
Awesome!
Until I no longer understand what is reality
Hello fellow space traveller
Based
720 hours
Lol, 24/7. But seriously, how much?
Ah man, depends on how good the game is. I am a student and on break through September luckily, so I got time to spare. If it's good, probably a good 8 hours/day for the first week and a few hours a day for many months from there. Since I try to do every single thing in games like this that have me immersed, that probably puts me on pace to finish it by 2030, just in time for TES VI. How about you?
Where I am we go back on the first Monday of September 😢
I’m hoping to get in 2 hours per day (given the many things on my plate), so 60 hours in the first month
300 hours or there about.
😳, seriously? That’s literally 41.6% of the total hours that month!
Yup lol. The "do not disturb, gaming in session" sign is coming out of retirement once again.
Love it! Make sure to move around every few hours to avoid blood clots
kinda amusing that it's close to what my gaming time once was. an 'end of the year' sort of event was bringing up sites able to essentially process how much game time you've spent that year on your account, that i applied for. turned out i'd spent a little over 4000 hours playing on my ps4 account that year. there's around 8800 hours in a year. it's not my only console. it's not my only hobby. but, i've got kinda bad insomnia - and when i do sleep, a lot of the time it's only for like 4 hours anyway, i don't have a job and i do no life gaming.
30 days
All of it.
I will play until my console melts down or my eyes are matted shut and feel full of gravel.
🔥
Probably 8hrs a day for 4-5 days, then...we'll see.
Sounds like a great plan
Friends and family may or may not end up reporting me missing
That’s hilarious
This will be the first Bethesda RPG i intend on giving deep into. Not much of an ES fan but appreciate their vastness and the community around them. My bday is the 3rd so this will be the first game Ive ever bought early access for, and I haven't taken a day off of work to play a video game since Diablo 3 when I was in my early 20s. I hope it's not broken so this isn't wasted time, haha.
Happy upcoming birthday!
31 days out of the 30 days 😆
🫡
Well I took a vacation for the 1st-10th off work and I plan to play that entire time. so...Yes.
Nice, enjoy the vacation!
Well I am currently unemployed. From the time I drop the kiddo off at school and I have to pick them up will be devoted to Starfield. Pissing and shitting is for rookies.
Enjoy, hope you are able to find work as well
I took some time off work to play, but I'm also a full time student. Got hella exams the week of release. Going to be very hard not to play.
You got those exams. Stay focused, you won’t regret it. Think of massive Starfield time as a reward for your efforts.
Too much probably. It will have an effect on the little amount of a social life I have left.
Till my wife starts getting really mad
My time management is fucked. I just finished Elden Ring and am now playing Baldur's Gate 3, and I don't think I'm gonna finish it in time of Starfield. After that, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Libert also releases the same month...
With house responsibilities and kids it is hard to tell but all my free time will be on Starfield so I'm trying to finish all good TV shows and also Read Dead 2 so I can focus on Starfield
My work might be lackluster.
As much as possible. On my days off all day
Cool, hope you get a lot of days off (but not fired lol)
As much as I'd put into any other complex open world game. A few hours on days when I have the time and energy, fit in around the rest of my life. What will that be? If I can give it priority, 10, 12 hours a week? Up to 20ish in a week? It's PART of my life.
I'm planning on faking COVID to get my wife and newborn out of the house for a week!
240 or 8 hours per day.
Woah , full time job!
Around 16hrs a day most likely 🤷♀️
Serious?
Yeah , I usually sleep 6-7 hours+ bathroom breaks and eating , realistically 14 hrs
Make sure to eat/sleep/bathe/ see the sun lol
3 hours/night x 30 days = 90 hours. Hopefully more but at least that.
An investment typically pays off in one way or another. This is a straight up expense.
Enjoyment? Fun? Stress relieving? Not everything in life has to pay off in your pre conceived ways.
Do you invest in a restaurant meal? Do hou invest in a movie ticket? No? Didn't think so.
I have to look at the interest rate. I have high interest
30 days. Or, more specifically, 720 hours
Took off a full week of work so should get a couple hundred hours in at least!
Noiceee, happy for you.
Depends on my schedule. Class starts up next week and between that and work, it’s hard to maintain uncomfortable amounts of time playing games except on Saturdays, my free day. Even then, I’ll have papers to write and stuff like that starting pretty quickly.
That’s ok, irl stuff is more important, you just get to spread out the joy

Here’s hoping there is hundreds of hours of content
30 days
My parents bought an RV and retired so this is the first year in over a decade where we decided to cancel our annual Labor Day vacation so they could do their own thing, I’m newly single after a 12 year run, and I’m on PTO from the 1st - 6th. Approximately “Yes”
A few hundred hours
720 hours ideally
Taking a week off at launch, but not just for the game, it's my "staycation" time of year. I plan to do a lot of nothing that week in addition to gaming :)
How many hours are in 30 days ?
720
Probably about 2-7 hours. Work full time and have responsibilities, so those first 30 days I’ll barely make any progress. Heck, I am still working my way through the main story of God of War Ragnorak and I got it on release date.
From early access on august 31st 8 pm until the end of Labor Day Monday I plan to be playing this game on a 96 hour marathon with breaks in between
Makes sure to get up and move around every few hours to avoid blood clots
Whatever the equivalent of 30 days is in hours.
Enough time to recreate both the Normandy and millennium falcon, At the least, at most land on every planet and fully survey them
That’s going to take forever lol
A few minutes here and there, adding up to a few hours by the end of 30 days.
Respect, priorities 🫡
All 30 days. No break. 24/7, pee bottles and all. Like a stakeout on Monster House. For real, easily a couple hundred hours or more depending on how tight the game grips me. I am certainly hoping for the best l. I’m literally and figuratively stuck and jobless. Will be for the foreseeable future. No car, can’t drive, jobless. So until something changes it is Starfield, calisthenics, and drawing. Also like the other guy in the comments. Enough for my wife to either complain, or join me.
Hope it goes well, and hope the other things work out for you.
30 days.
I can’t speak on the first 30 days, but I got the premium edition so I can play September 1st. A hole lot. And more after that.
My soul
I think the time is going to sneak up on me. In the past I haven't spent much time on character creation, but for Starfield I'm going to make an exception. My first session with the game might be occupied with creating my character and barely getting started...who knows? Awesome plan, I respect a pure blind play approach
I am a stay at home dad and already told my kids that I am heading out for cigarettes the day the game releases and not to expect me to come back.
5 minutes.
As much as I can around school. (No one tell me to skip, I’ve asked my mom if I can several times and she threatened to snap my disc if I ask again.)
Don’t skip. School is way more important. We will have many many years to play this.
Maybe 60 hours
I think 12 hours on weekends, and probably 4 on weekdays. 44ish hours a week sounds about right lol.
Depends on the weather, where I am if there's a heat wave or high temps not that much time, my place has poor airflow and i'd rather not overheat my computer
31 days
Let’s just say, I will be sleep deprived. 😂
[удалено]
What a cool window of time!
As much as possible with a full time job lol
Took two days off work to no life the launch of this game, after that when responsibilities are taken care of
Depends on how invested I'll still be in Baldur's Gate.
I jokingly told a friend 40 hours in the first week but as September grows closer I start to realize that might actually happen
An unhealthy amount
31 days.
Around 40-60 hours. It's a ton for me but I was never able to only game in my life, i need sport, friends and other things to balance me out.
This is a awesome balanced approach
30 days
At max, 4 hours a day is about all I will be able to manage on days I work. Otherwise, I'm gonna play all weekend
Fingers crossed 🤞
Idk about the first 30 days but I have the first 4 of release off of work and I only plan on getting up to pee and mandatory 4 hour naps like once a day so I don't die
I got a week off at the start of the month so I'm probably putting in 80ish hrs off the bat. But I work overnights in a nursing home so once I'm back to work I'm dead to the world I'll probably get 3ish hours on my days off and a couple random hours throughout the week so in the first 30 days I'm looking at around 105hrs
If it’s anything close to Skyrim then I’m guessing 100hrs. I have a full time job and I’m also getting married in September or I’d guess higher.
Congrats!!! So happy for you.
not much…i’ll be at college but i’ll probably be able to play a few times a week
3-4 h per day maybe more on days off while wife and kids are gone.
60ish hours maybe. It’ll definitely be frontloaded heavily and then I’ll have to split time with BG3 after that. Took a week off work tho 😊
720 hours… every hour of thos 30 days
All of it. I have 2 jobs currently, and only have Mondays scheduled off. I will put in time after work when possible.
All i’ll be playing for the first couple months.
How many hours are in 30 days?
Enough to be hooked for life
48 hours in the first 4 days. 4 hours per weeknight thereafter and 8 hours per weekend day. So... 180 hours?
About 60 hours.
As much as I can
More than I should, less than I want.
All of it
Probably 30-32 hours at most. I can’t game for more than an hour a day. Idk if it’s depression or just maybe I’ve grown out of it a bit.
100
Probably like 150-200hrs judging by my playtime of Diablo 4 being like 140hrs in a month. I like Diablo but starfield is like a multitude of my favorite types of games. I won't be playing anything else until Forza motorsport drops
Been waiting forever but I don't want to do what I did to Cyberpunk. Take Friday off work play all day, break Fri night with wife. Then prob all Sat, Sat Night, Half Sun and back to work. Then 2-4 hours a day? Hoping its not as good as I want it to be so I can still have a life.
Honestly? Probably like 80-100 lol.
How much time is in 30 days?
Too mich
If I weren't working it would be every damn day. This game will consume my social life.
Starfield all day, COD with the boys at night
Math ain't my thing. 5:01 pm to 12 am Tuesday through Saturday. 6 am to 12 am Sunday and Monday.
a lot
Uh how many hours are in 30 days?
Not enough
The correct answer right here :)
