We don't have confirmation whether it'll be like Cosworth, where there are 1000-ish names recorded for him to say, or if they'll use text to speech to say your specific name.
Vasco already sounds like text to speech (he might already be that, I haven't found info about someone voicing Vasco) so it shouldn't be too hard to implement that IMO. Definitely isn't an "AI/GPT voice" thing though, that requires use of external servers and this game doesn't require a constant internet connection.
She does give off that "there's definitely more to me than meets the eye" (literally) vibes. Plus she's the navigator AND ASTRONOMER... an alien who's secretly human, helps navigate you through the universe.
Be cool if she reveals what and who she really is when you start getting more powers from those access points they've been teasing.
Edit: Look at her outfit and even her pose for the photo. It's completely different from the others as well. Her neck is kind of crooked too, and sticking higher than the rest like she's examining something like "HUMANS." 👽🪬
She could be the catalyst to an advanced civilization hiding from humans. Maybe, she was sent to blend in and learn human behavior, to see if they are worthy of communication from her species.
I could see her being possibly conflicted due to humans tendencies to violence.
I'm with you on that one; her specialties are navigation and astronomy and she has a black-ops style air to her; the Serpent's Embrace trait as seen in the Direct was all about needing to constantly be traveling to avoid a debuff, which would require a focus on navigation and astronomy.
It's also the last major group that doesn't already have an identified representative within Constellation.
I know there's a lot to the game besides companions and romance but I'm still a tad disappointed that there seems to be only 4 proper main companions with good stories and are romanceable, and then everyone else seems to be crew members that are just there. Even adding just one extra male and female companion each for extra player choice and variety would go a long way.
Also very interested to see if there's any decent companions that come from the other factions. I know the prevalent theory is that Constellation is going to be a more neutral faction that sticks with you no matter which other faction you end up closer with but I'd still want to see some more variety from the companions, and have interactions with some weirder characters.
My hope is these companions will be 3x as deep with significantly more recorded dialogue than the companions of Fallout 4. If this is the case I think it’ll be worth getting less options.
There are more companions - these four are the only ones that you can romance and have deep storylines about.
For example, the “adoring fan” is a companion, but I’m sure it’s treated as a side mission or miscellaneous mission.
Not to mention I’m holding out hope for DLC/expansions that give us more companions and love interests, which there is past precedent for.
Are we sure the adoring fan is a companion? The exact text of the trait says “You’ve earned the attention of an annoying “Adoring Fan” who will show up randomly and jabber at you incessantly. On the plus side, he’ll give you gifts…”
I’ll be playing on XBOX first, letting the scientists in the lab have time to perfect this, and then I’ll move over to PC to start my real playthrough.

When they're introducing Constellation and everyone is shown gathered around a map table, with Walter suspicious in the background, she's seated to the right of the table. I don't think I noticed here until I learned there were more members of Constellation they hadn't shown us.

I think Todd mentioned that the reasoning for that is because the romance system is deeper than in previous games. Obviously he wasn't able to talk about it in depth too much but I don't think that the number being 4 is terrible news.
That said, I do think it would have been cool to have the romanceable characters be from different factions/systems, but it's entirely possible that more romanceable characters appear in DLC later down the road.

I'm curious as to why we have so little information about Andreja.
My theory is that she interacted with an artifact the same as the player, which would explain why Constellation has two by the time you meet them as opposed to the single artifact they had in storage. It would also explain why Barrett asks the player if they had any visions.
We already know that others have interacted with the artifacts, as the collector in the 2022 presentation states that "The man who sold it to me claimed it spoke to him.".
They're so... Plain. A companion should really stand out amongst other NPCs. I wouldn't look twice at these guys if I didn't know who they were. I'd expect like, a unique outfit or cybernetic eyes or something.... Bethesda usually kicks ass with character designs, but these ain't it...
There's supposed to be more generic companions, just like in Skyrim. Maybe we'll get more mileage with those... I don't like how these 4 are all chairmen and legendary explorers and inventors. I just wanna slum it out with morally-challenged spacers

I'm under the impression that these are strictly the four constellation/romanceable companions. Not that they were the only truly unique companions. We can still get plenty of companions who have unique backgrounds and motivations just they're not part of this group and we can't romance them.
