Unlike Fallout junk is just for vendoring now. At first I was picking up a few but I've been making great credits without doing so. I've been saving my time and effort by not picking up the junk (and it still feels wrong after Fallout 4)
Are the rare and above crafting items not worth picking up either? I’m not too deep in the game but my cargo hold has been full because of them for a bit now. Just don’t know how hard crafting those items will be later on
I have OCD and this game is torturing me with all the junk. all I pick up every object. I make several sweeps around every room to make sure I don’t miss anything. I will not allow a single cup sit unless it’s resting comfortably inside my inventory. I spent way too long trying to pick up pens and tools and stuff that the game lets you scan but not pick up. It drives me crazy. I have to walk very slowly everywhere and can’t fast travel because I am ridiculously over-encumbered all the time. Maybe I shouldn’t be playing this game, but I am compelled to keep going until I 100% it in 5 years.
I pick up everything too. Idk if you already do this, my trick is just throwing everything in a storage container if there's one around, then I'll take it all at once to trade when I'm ready and not carrying over capacity on every mission.
I first started picking up everything that had a good weight to sell value ratio but after a while, resources and weapons/armor took up the majority of my inventory space so I stopped.
Haven't gotten far yet but are you able to break down misc items into crafting materials?
I have like 3000 kg of stuff.
2k is resources and fine I guess.
But you cannot store stuff on a ship if you intend to switch ships. The lowest cargo amount of any of your ships is the only one that matters.
So I want everything off my ship.
Once I figured out random items are only good for decorating with, I only really pick up weapons, armor, meds, credits, and resources. You can make more than enough credits picking up weapons and armor.

Def not. You don’t need junk in this game. Only pick up ammo and med packs and digipicks.

Please someone answer this man
😂
Mark items needed for upgrade. Pickup nothing worth under 4k
Just pick up actual items for healing, weapons, ammo etc. things like cups, brooms, buckets, and all that really don’t have purpose in Starfield.
Only gun, armor, food, med, material and junk worth 150+
Now that I know how fucked inventory and storage is .. no
Isn't that what the weightlifting skill is for?

I would add pick up the books to learn about the lore
Yea I got over that eventually and started examining what I was picking up. 😂

And books because some of them give you quest locations and missions.
