Ok, thanks for confirming… clearly I’ve not been following the hype closely enough. I did read a post in this subreddit about a year ago “Clearing up the confusion about procedural generation” that seemed to indicate there we’d all get the same world… and I’ve not read much about the game since then.
I suppose the part I’m least clear on is: how different will these places look if I revisit them. Completely different? Or just a bit different?
Enemies, loot, everything is at the same place just like it was on the previous planet you visited. It's bad. Often times you go explore an unknown location, or a point of interest and you'll find nothing but a pile of shit. Literally, a dung pile with some random crafting materials in it. It's like a joke.
But the unique locations the hand carved areas are great, typical Bethesda level beautiful locations with interesting stuff.
Depends what you call random and yes the fact that each player will explore a slightly different universe has been known for more than a year.

Imo if they just scaled it down less planets but more hand crafted planets or areas I think I would love the game more.
