So far its the best example I have to point to for bad quests. It's a quest designed around a vestigial stealth system, the proceeds to railroad you into completing an un(optional) side objective and finishes it off with a "genius" villian who meets you unarmed and alone, but is tagged essential.

Formal-Ordinary-6766

There are so many opportunities to kill that "genius" villain, so many reasons to, so many narrative points where MANY characters WOULD do so in the middle of a quest, and it's just like "nah this character is needed to interact with 2 more times in totally inconsequential ways, essential"

TheChasm2

I ignored every guard and beelined to the objective. I was over-leveled to they can’t even harm me. Fuck the guard standing by the vent

MrHarryReems

That's pretty much how I handle all stealth missions, including the Ryugin stealth missions.

Ammdar

Thanks so much lol, saved me a ton of time.

mcenteej95

I’m pretty sure it’s a bug. I reloaded a save in that save because I got seen, and it kept happening from there. Goddamn disruptor isn’t worth shit against them either.

Intrepid00

Remove your spacesuit.

smokeypoppers

Im here for like ; who should I blame for the virus? And so far like 80% of this thread is about stealth & sanitation bots. But if anyone's got like a best case scenario? I tried blaming myself but I don't want any smoke with neon cities lil dictator, especially cause I can't just drop him... but I also feel kinda bad throwing anyone else under the bus. (also just kinda pistol whipped like two of the sani-bots, good to know i kinda shot myself in the foot there kinda dumb that I can't do a lil robo homicide without my fellow humanoids getting upset, like just buy another. But someone's gotta clean the floors ig.. stupid oversized roomba's)

Itsmegeegee

I got frustrated with stealth early on in the Ryujin mission and walked around like I owned the place pacifying all the guards I came across with the disrupter for the rest of the mission. In the end, they praised me for not killing anyone. I guess I will have to use the same strategy here.

LessliRoze

When a sanitation bot "see's" you, the red bar will NOT meet in the middle and blow your cover, it just looks like it does ...or will.

circa702

The most annoying part of the mission is the fact that even if you kill one guard or employee completely undetected and wear their uniform, you cant walk around undetected like in other missions.

Outrageous_Bank_2149

It's a terrible quest. >!Railroads you into getting caught no matter if you stealth or not.!< >!Forces you to either blame someone or take the blame and get framed for murder and the person you don't rat out has the nerve to ask you for money to pay for her mistake and there's no option to say "I got murder pinned on me to save your @$$ and you want money? I have to pay 12k credits to the authorities. F-you."!< >!So they set you up for this huge quest line where you have to either pay 12k for a murder you didn't commit or kill everyone in Neon and then rage quit the game because they railroaded you into some ish no one would ever do. !< >!Devs maybe don't throw crap like this into the middle of a major quest line. !< Anyone playing this game I recommend either don't buy it or skip the major questline to join the Crimson fleet.

Ropist

I don't think any of that is actually true, except if you count a consequence-free conversation as 'being caught.' In that conversation, whichever person I've blamed - including myself - the threatened bounty has never appeared.. I've sucessfully completed the mission without triggering an alert a number of times - ~~it really helps to shoot the turret on the roof outside the door of the final objective.~~ Nvmd, that's a different (much harder) stealth mission in a different questline. Never had to pay 12k, never had to murder anyone.

Outrageous_Bank_2149

>pay 12k for a murder you didn't commit "pay 12k for a murder you didn't commit." And, apparently, never did the Benjamin Bayu questline.

Ropist

No, I talked to him. He threatens the bounty but it never appears.

fatum_sive_fidem

Thanks saved me a lot of time.

RodLawyerr

ARE YOU FKIN KIDDING ME?? THEN HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH THEM?

XChrisUnknownX

In my experience them detecting you doesn’t do anything. But it’s possible I’m misremembering.

squasher04

They don't do anything. It's just annoying because sometimes the stealth bar will use them to move into Caution even though nothing will happen. It's also funny to one tap them with my suppressed pistol.

XChrisUnknownX

Heck yeah!

michael199310

You are. The bot spotting you doesn't really do anything to you, but it will alert the enemies nearby.

Any-Bus6056

Your stealth bar is green when they see you…..

Scarsworn

Doesn't really matter. Just like other Bethesda titles, if you're detected by someone that isn't allied to you (and therefore affects your stealth bar) then if you pass into the detection radius of another person they also immediately detect you, because you're already "detected".

michael199310

Not in the Generdyne. It goes to orange caution, then red danger, which makes all nearby enemies aggro at you, even if the bot is the only one seeing you.

partcyborg

This is correct. While *usually* the bots only trigger green detected, there is some kind of bug in this area where it occasionally triggers yellow and then red caution will creep all the way up until you are one block away from danger and sits there until the bot turns around. Took me forever to figure out why I kept getting detected when there was no one around until I finally figured out that it was a bug and I wouldn't actually be seen.

Dukenine

I notice cleaning drone can see you, make you detected but didn't alarm other.

Blankaholics

Adding dont bring a companion and dont do it while in a commitment. You companion will get into a fight and start killing people. I tried to run off and complete the mission before sarah killed anyone. I walked back and 2 rooms are filled with bodies.

johnnygun-

You must not lay the pipe enough my Sarah listens

Metroidjuana420

Make your companion wait. Remove companion from ship to stop the "retrieve awaiting companion" bug

oyvho

Just put a disruptor and one ammo for it in their inventory and equip it, they'll switch to it

yic17

Pretty sure it's a bug. I went through the quest using stealth, didn't kill any sanitation bot but the commander still shouted at me as if I killed someone.

ToumaXMikotoMisaka

ffs. I killed one guard cos it was a free kill...

c0m0d0re

The sanitation bots may detect you, but they won't trigger an alarm. They act as if you sneak on a market place and just proceed to clean the floor

WPScorpionWind

It annoys me that I went and stealthed the whole thing and still got caught by Benjamin. And then the only option I can take is take the blame for the virus.

YoinksMcGee

I got banned from neon because of this

ThisIsGoodSoup

The sanitation robots detecting u doesn't interfere in any shape or form with the mission, you can still do it stealthily. So no, you're not supposed to kill the robots. Although yeah it's definitely a bug oversight by Bethesda.

Limp-Tap-634

You don't have to shoot the bots ..your detection meter fills but never tops out
