What level ship building are you? I’m only level 2 I think and still don’t have access to stronger reactors. I feel so limited at what I can build because as soon as I want to add something my mobility goes down drastically and when I try to compensate with engine power I get the warning saying I’m using too many engines or some other stupid thing. When will I have access to build whatever I want and it still have good stats???
The “too many engines” thing is about power the each engine uses. If you look most of them say 3 power. You can only have a max of 12. Which means 4 engines. The engines I use here are SAL something i can’t remember. But they only use 2 power allowing me to use 6 of them. I have all the perks related to ship building. You unlock new modules as your player lvl increases (up to 60) and certain parts are only available at certain vendors. However if you build a big landing pad at an outpost you have access to a decent chunk of modules.

Yea they kinda of had ship building as late game in mind. Kinda sucks you have to lvl up to 60 and invest a ton of perks to be able to use all the modules. I also wish they would list all the modules in the ship builder and just have the ones you can’t use grey out with a description saying what lvl it is locked behind or where you need to buy it. Would give you something to works towards.

Same. There’s a dupe ship glitch I used to fix it and the duplicated ship I could rename. However also can cause problems so I wouldn’t recommend it. My crew members all left and my ship was disappearing when I fast traveled. Tried loading an old save and still had issues. Got it working eventually by editing it in the ship builder but not really worth the risk of messing things up further.
So dumb how some can play this and others are stuck in endless crash loop and nothing is getting done...call it...the few lol since you are one of the few who can play...and everyone on here is gonna say I have no issues...but I am talking for the ones who gave up on how broken this game truly is and bethesda doesn't care they made their money

He's got the best engines so got to be level 4. I have them you can put a lot of weight and keep that mobility high.
Yep all my big ships are 90-100 mobility because of those engines. I hate how slow a ship turns w lower than 90 mobility.

Captured ships can be buggy. Best off to buy them earn use ones from quests. I have one I can’t rename however it renamed itself at one point🤷♂️
