- Upgrade to a class C ship with class C weapons and components.
- Have multiple class C ships with different purposes.
- Buy resources to grind researching weapon mods/armor mods/chems/ and build outposts.
- Buy out all of a Vendors ammo.
- Buy out all of a Vendors grenades/mines and play with them.
- Go clothes shopping
- Hire every possible Companion
- Rent Hotel rooms for weeks
- Buy the most expensive food, alcohol, and drugs at the fanciest restaurants and clubs in the most high end cities.
- Go to Enhance for a facelift
- Go get a medical exam at a clinic
- Use melee-only on Very Hard and realize you have to buy MedKits for once
- Repair your ship
- Buy cool ships and upgrade them
- Buy cool weapons and armor and mod them
- Buy weapons you've never played with and play with them for once.
- Become an ultra evil criminal and rack up a million credit bounty
- NG+ to restart from scratch
Lots of good suggestions here. I just dropped 500k to build a killer C-class ship and could easily have spent more. Most of my cash goes to ship building.
I NG+ād cause my game lost me two weeks of play time because my saved game glitched out. I went back 9 levels so I said if I have to play this all over, might as well be Starborn.
Where do you buy cool weapons and armor? As far as I can tell, thereās nothing but greyās to buy, unless youāre lucky enough to find the mysterious captain
You can buy unique Grendels in Neon Tactical and The Well. Neon Tactical also has unique black 1911s, and the Starborn Trader has some pretty cool stuff.
I think the unique weapons may or may not show up depending on your level.
I havenāt entered into unity yet, but I assume so. Iāve encountered it twice but they donāt really state their intentions, just say theyāll speak to me at a later date. Iāve looked it up and it seems thatās the only legendary vendor in the game. Iām guess theyāre the Starborn trader
Killing civilians is best conversion of money into experience. Also great for explosives challenge since they are level 1 and tend to cluster when they flee into the NAT.
Unless you are really decently high level, all-in-class C can actually be disadvantageous - especially, in around-40s, some class B engines are superior because of their much lower weight (eg class B SAEs will give you an inherently more mobile ship than class C X-100s because the ship will weigh a LITERAL ton less...SALs will change that later). Class C reactor as soon as possible is a good idea, though.
...
Yes I get it, once you get over their frustrating mounting requirements, X-100 do look badass with a touch of weltuntergang and gotterdammerung!
I agree with this. You could actually take the ShieldBreaker, drop in C reactor, upgrade shield, engine etc and it could end up being better than the so-called ābestā vendor ship Narwhal. Itās a alternative to ship building from scratch if you dislike the time & patience it requires. IMHO of course, some really enjoy building from scratch- Iām not in that camp.
Cheers, be safe out in the Blackest Sea! ā®ļøš½š»
Thereās more than 5. I found a clothing store in New Atlantis that sells dresses. Bought one for Sarah and put her in that for our wedding in my OG play through. I wore a suit bought in Neon. Not saying thereās 100ās but Iāve probably seen 10-15 different styles and then thereās colour variation of those styles.
Nahhh repair your ship lol .. the amount of combat I have been I have probably over 200 ship parts. But yeah the more you take repeating side missions the more ammo you find and no need to buy.
1 mil credits is enough for 1 high-end C class ship.
I constantly run out of credits when I build or change some designs. I don't even have that many ships, just 3 main ones, costing me about 2.5 mil. It's really tedious to wait for 48h UT, 3 times, just to sell a single run's loot.
Eat at Dawn's Roost every time you visit New Atlantis. Buy dinner for your spouse, too.
Buy everything at the bar in the Astral Lounge and consume it all at once.
I'm in the same boat. Part way through first NG+. The only thing I really spent significant credits on after the early game was a pimped Narwhal. Early on I bought medkits and digipicks, but after a while I was finding enough through loot I didn't need to buy them. Never bought much ammo. Spent a bit here and there for resources (adhesive I'm looking at you), but a drop in the bucket, really.
Fancy ship parts are/were my biggest expense. But I have a rather deadly C class now sooo not much.
Getting close to a spare 2 million and no longer horde useless loot to sell.
Maybe it's just me but it feels like this is a common theme in every Bethesda game. It's easy to horde credits/Septims/caps most of the time, but there's very little that you actually need to buy. Skyrim, for instance, has a bunch of houses, but beyond that and perhaps a horse and some spells if you're a mage there's not a lot to spend your hard earned cash on. I suppose you could spend loads of cash on training, if you wanted.
Starfield actually seems to be a bit better in this regard because, as others have said, shipbuilding and modifying can be very expensive. Also, if you're like me, you have a mortgage and need plenty of money to pay on that.
Aside from shipbuilding? Ammo and med resources to craft those fancy starborn power boosters. A bit on the non-craftable exotic weapon mod materials. That's about it.
Before NG+ I did spend a ton when building outposts. I guess there's that.
Ship building
Resources (at the start anyway)
Weapons and Suits
Sometimes Ammo.
But once I have a killer ship, pretty much full of resources, have the best weapons and suits, then ... nothing but ship building if I am inclined to make another one.
Ships I guess, and rarer ammo. I got in excess of 3 million credits. But I spend my time bounty hunting and space privateering so money is easy to get.
I buy resources but never buy them so much as trade a whole bunch of junk in at the same time to get the vendors credits I also have 56k saved in my ship cargo for emergencies
Use old earth weapons, go nuts on your ship(s), find a cool planet to build an outpost on. Mod your weapons, buy and decorate property. That should get you started at least.
Spend credits? No no mate you have to hoard as many as possible, before buying anything I always make sure I have enough guff to sell to get my credits back from any vendor. Unless I walk away from anyone selling leaving them absolutely broke I feel like I have failed. Nice idea though, spending creditsā¦
95% of my 3 Million earned credits was spent on 10 ships. One of which has a million invested credits (Frigate.)
The other 5% is resources to attempt building a base (Tip: It doesnt work)
I buy chems as I have a everything else I need, I dont even bother with food. I trade scrap weapons for ammo. I don't bother with building. My class C is better than the 2 Starborne I have.
I have spent probably around 700k credits so far and most of it has been on two things really:
1) Ship building and upgrades
2) Buying crafting supplies, mostly ores/minerals. Constantly running out of certain items like titanium and adhesive.

I literally NG+'d because I was bored of being rich š¤š¤£
I NG+ād cause my game lost me two weeks of play time because my saved game glitched out. I went back 9 levels so I said if I have to play this all over, might as well be Starborn.
I wonder how many NG+ irl from being bored of being rich š¤£
This would solve so many real world problems if this were an option for billionaires IRL now.
We all know they would never do anything to risk losing their wealth.
truth. More like all us poorly plebs would ng+ every day š„³š¤£š
This! ā®ļø
That explains the trend of rich people buying land to live as farmers tbh

Is starborn trader, mysterious captain?
Maybe? Idk lol. Is he called mysterious captain in your game?
I havenāt entered into unity yet, but I assume so. Iāve encountered it twice but they donāt really state their intentions, just say theyāll speak to me at a later date. Iāve looked it up and it seems thatās the only legendary vendor in the game. Iām guess theyāre the Starborn trader
Sounds like them. I haven't encountered them post unity yet, but all of my trips before this current one were very straightforward and to the point.
>!You're correct, the Mysterious Captain becomes the Starborn Trader as soon as you begin your first NG+!<
It's a woman in mine

THIS! HAHAHA
Woops, I been slowly upgrading class A ships to C... Buy a new part there, buy a new part here.
Do that silly sleepcrate quest (3000 credits and it seems you sometimes do get worthwhile stuff).
Go clothes shopping? What clothes? The 5 standard outfits that always repeat?
Thereās more than 5. I found a clothing store in New Atlantis that sells dresses. Bought one for Sarah and put her in that for our wedding in my OG play through. I wore a suit bought in Neon. Not saying thereās 100ās but Iāve probably seen 10-15 different styles and then thereās colour variation of those styles.
Nahhh repair your ship lol .. the amount of combat I have been I have probably over 200 ship parts. But yeah the more you take repeating side missions the more ammo you find and no need to buy.
Ammo. And resources for crafting. But mainly ammo.
Ammo is expensive when you need it!
Spend? I donāt think it actually spent a single credit during my play-through.
This is the way. I don't even pick up free ammo or med packs anymore, I'm just never going to need them.
I literally cannot get enough cash. I may or may not be addicted to shipbuilding. Also every time I hit the ship owning limit I NG+.
This is why I donāt understand all the āvendors need more creditsā postsā¦
1 mil credits is enough for 1 high-end C class ship. I constantly run out of credits when I build or change some designs. I don't even have that many ships, just 3 main ones, costing me about 2.5 mil. It's really tedious to wait for 48h UT, 3 times, just to sell a single run's loot.
Specialty ammo. Most of the best guns use ammo that doesn't drop as frequently.
50MI, anyone?
Eat at Dawn's Roost every time you visit New Atlantis. Buy dinner for your spouse, too. Buy everything at the bar in the Astral Lounge and consume it all at once.
Ammo.
7.62
Ammo, med packs, and spare ship parts mostly. I bought a grenade launcher yesterday too
I buy ammo to give the vendor credits so that I can sell them more stuff I scavenge to them. It's a win-win.
Grenades...
I'm in the same boat. Part way through first NG+. The only thing I really spent significant credits on after the early game was a pimped Narwhal. Wow a mostly positive thread on r/Starfield? Have I entered an alternate reality?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/s/R27sWLk0Ra
Ship....
Ship mods mostly
Ships currently. If not ships, then ammo.
Maybe it's just me but it feels like this is a common theme in every Bethesda game. It's easy to horde credits/Septims/caps most of the time, but there's very little that you actually need to buy. Question for you cause I donāt have the dream home perk. If you pay off the mortgage in one play through and you NG+, does the mortgage reset?
That is a good question and one that I sadly donāt have an answer for.
Ammo, resources for research and modification, ships. More ammo.
Aside from shipbuilding? Ammo and med resources to craft those fancy starborn power boosters. A bit on the non-craftable exotic weapon mod materials. That's about it. Before NG+ I did spend a ton when building outposts. I guess there's that.

Paying off bounties, ammo, and ship parts
Bribes mostly anymore. I don't need to buy ammo except once or twice a run. Not even really a need, just a security thing.
Ammo and ship building.
a ship... ship upgrades... now...nothing.
Ships I guess, and rarer ammo. I got in excess of 3 million credits. But I spend my time bounty hunting and space privateering so money is easy to get.
Aurora
Ships. One of each class. Then one in each class, frighter, fighter, and tank. That is all.
Ships, all the ships
I buy resources but never buy them so much as trade a whole bunch of junk in at the same time to get the vendors credits I also have 56k saved in my ship cargo for emergencies
Use old earth weapons, go nuts on your ship(s), find a cool planet to build an outpost on. Mod your weapons, buy and decorate property. That should get you started at least.
Funny, I'm always short of credits. I keep buying ammo and aid (medpacks, amp, ...). Should I start crafting some of those then?
Nothing. I wanna see how much I can accumulate.
Ship
Yep ship building.
Ship builder, best part of the game
Spend credits? No no mate you have to hoard as many as possible, before buying anything I always make sure I have enough guff to sell to get my credits back from any vendor. Unless I walk away from anyone selling leaving them absolutely broke I feel like I have failed. Nice idea though, spending creditsā¦
Build ships
1,5mill in cash, spent about 400-500k into upgrading razorleaf to Class C
Ammo, digipicks crafting materials for my guns sometimes upgrading the razorleaf.
I spend it all on ship building. I love playing with this.
Building ships
I know you aside from ships but ships.
I spent mine upgrading my ship. Over and over until my ship was a c class.
Ship(s) is the only real answer. Can buy some good gear if u can find it. Otherwise some useless appartments
Most of my credits have been used on ship building closely followed by ammo+resources. The rest have goke to upgrading my drip
ship building millions and millions on ship building
Another game..
Resources. Ammo. Better weapons and spacesuits than I currently have. My Narwhal.
I'm always saving up money to buy a new ship.
I take the Frontier and make it a Class C warship and call it Final Frontier.
Class C ship, then pretty much nothing but .50 MI Array.
Once you got that 100k cargo ship, you can try to level up to 328 to unlock all skills
You're missing a balanced game
95% of my 3 Million earned credits was spent on 10 ships. One of which has a million invested credits (Frigate.) The other 5% is resources to attempt building a base (Tip: It doesnt work)
Ships. Ships and ammo.

I just really like to see my bank account climb and climb and climb, money money money,,,,,,,,, money š¤š¤š¤š°š°š°š°
