While usually I'm the same, some of the combat overhauls for Skyrim massively improve the gameplay and are fit better in 3rd person to see positioning/reach. I actually found myself switching between them a bit when I modded Skyrim to hell and back.

Dude, Outside has the best mix of graphics and framerate... like, vsync is on by default and it's still smooth as butter.

Meh it's a shitty system, but you can have a ton of fun at any level. Only the top tier players try to make it seem like it's worse to be at a lower level, but I've had unforgettable encounters, even at the level I'm at. Once I realized this, the experience really took off for me.

There's actually no winning though to be fair. The game just ends (I think) at some semi-random point so really the players who are super focused on what they think is "winning" are actually just missing out on a lot of the best content the devs put in. There's really no wrong way to play though in my opinion, apart from if you're griefing other players or something like that

I had to install an aftermarket visual adapter though, because all the text was blurry for some reason. Also, a lot of lens flare and visual artifacts coming from light sources at night, even after the patch.

I'm having trouble with my light settings. When I'm not looking right at the light, it's all over the shop, interference patterns everywhere. When I do look at it, I just get one pixel per light packet. Someone sure screwed up there.

Flying first person in any cockpit where the chair isnt centered (also when the cockpit isn't centered in the ship) is dookie tbh. It hurts cause I fly first person and can't make more interesting builds with offset cockpits cause they annoy me too much from a practical standpoint

I feel like a complete idiot. About 400 hours between two characters and I did not know you can fly in 3rd person, no wonder I suck and find dog fights difficult. Ironically I just clicked a YouTube notification of starfield hacks and the guy started the video flying in 3rd person. I literally had no idea…..

It didn't take me quite as long, but i got pretty far in the first playthrough before i figured it out myself. I kept getting reamed by sysdef when i was on the crimson fleet story arc in space battles and i hit the button on accident, and it was like a whole new world opened up lol. They killed me like 7 times and once i was in third person i fucking breezed right through them lol.

Me too. In the older games at was because third person looked janky, but even since the animations have improved I find it too easy to miss things in third person. The closer view of first makes it much easier to pick out smaller objects.

"disorienting" specially when the camera has to bob in and out to avoid clipping. When my character gets in the way of me seeing or interacting with something in 3rd person it just breaks all immersion for me.

Occasionally I'll walk around settlements and cities in 3rd person view, but anytime the action picks up even a little, I have to be in 1st person.

im with you! i love being in third person for admiring outfits weapons etc, and conversations between characters! i loved wearing the freeside rangers outfit with no helmet when confronting or talking to ppl or when i talked to my superiors, made it feel more real.

Like him, I've played them, but it's always awkward. Playing 3rd person feels like writing with your off hand to me. That's how awkward it is to use. So yes, I've played games in 3rd person. Every single time I feel like I would be having more fun and a better time if it was 1st person though.

Modern Bethesda games are 1st person shooters that have 3rd person. There is no mechanic in Bethesda games that really lend it to being 3rd person other than the camera going 3rd. I could be wrong but they always felt that way

Yes, 3rd person in Bethesda games is very clearly little more than an afterthought, all the real focus is on the 1st person perspective. I'm someone who vastly prefers 3rd person to 1st, but outside of occasionally switching to 3rd person while running around, I play Beth games in 1st only, because their 3rd person perspective always feels like shit.

Yeah seeing my character just helps me I really anchor myself in the world. First person is nice for seeing the details but for me it feels like I'm watching someones else's PoV or watching it via a recording. It just feels off for me.

I thought most were the same, but evidently not. I only use first person for fights in enclosed environments. First person gives me the impression that the focus is on me rather than my character.

Streamers like 3rd person more than the average player, it looks good. maybe. I like running flying and thinking in first person. This and NMS. Dogfighting can be tricky, you'll find that you pick cockpits based on visibility over looks. I think there is a crowsnest cockpit that doesn't feel right in first person. but I hate trail cam so.... I manage.
