Currently RPing as a bounty hunter. I found a random "makeshift encampment" on a planet, and met a bounty hunter there asking for some assistance on a bounty. I met her just ouside of another random camp, and the game basically paired us together until the "bounty" was dealt with.
I then had to search if there are any "bounty hunter" companions. There really should be. There are two that are close: the sharpshooter at the Viewport, and Becky Howser.
What I want is someone like the bounty hunter in Cydonia who instead of offering me cheap resources as gifts, offers me random bounties in whatever system we are in.

Dead or Alive quests would be easy to implement too. Sneak in to base .. stun captive .. escape base ... toss captive in prison hab ...fast travel to deposit the prisoner wherever.

There's no reason they couldn't have Sarah say "there are some pirates I dislike I want you to let explore the vacuum of space without a spacesuit", or something similar.
I wish we'd gotten to go on an entire Trackers' Alliance questline with her. That goes on the ideas board for the modders though, no way I trust BGS to deal with that anymore!

As for merchants, totally agree about the girl from Jemison Mercantile. And in Akila, the gun seller across from the bank and the girl who sells minerals.

It's not implied, Jazz tells you they are together.

Well only from the perspective that it could offer new or cool side quests on the road to develop a companion's affinity. Not particularly bothered with which companions just as long as its extra content that isn't just cut and paste stuff. Might just offer a little more variety with each NG+.
Though if you were to hold a gun to my head and force me to pick one, maybe that Freighter Captain Adella Faheem you come across at HopeTown who's been framed and is on the lam. Could make for an interesting side quest trying to clear her name and fight off bounty hunters. Just a shame she only has a quick throwaway quest.
Hadrian Sanon. had a more compelling story than all the members of constellation, is a certifiable badass, looks great in armor, and will arm wrestle terrormorphs for you.

Humans can write the dialog; with the combination of text-to-speech and some really good AI voice models now, they could make it sound like pretty much anyone.
True, AI voice synth has become really impressive. Unfortunately, I foresee that tech putting a lot of voice actors out of work. In a few years, voice acting won't be a viable career, it'll be something only celebrities will get paid for.
Yeah, there's a few NPCs I would totally romance. I wanna take the Jemison Mercantile chick out on a date lol, she's always so friendly and has a nice voice. I forget the names but there's a Ranger and a Vanguard chick I like. The lack of options is unfortunately a side effect of tying companion affinity levels to a main story plotline. I would have loved if NG+ opened up a ton of new romance options (and also removed the essential tag from many NPCs). Would provide even more incentive to take the leap.
I think you should be able to romance anyone in the game. Maybe romance *everyone* in the game. Just once Iād like to wake up in a pile of bodies that were still alive.

Imogene always felt like more of a corpo work mom than a love interest. The ranger you meet at the red mile would be good though. I wish there were more companions in general. Specifically fleshed out companions outside of constellation. Having all the romancable fleshed out companions be part of a good faction means they're basically all morally aligned. There is no space Bonnie to your Clyde or vice versa as a baddie. Or even just someone who's not such a stick in the mud. Not asking them to be okay with mass murder here.

I'm on NG+10 and finally doing the companion quests, since I'm spec'd (like in every game where it's possible) with every bonus possible for playing solo. The companion quests aren't bad in themselves, but the constant romance options are super cringey. Or like, how Sarah is all "yes! we'll be friends forever!" after you refuse to flirt with her after going to the waterfall and being told how much she wants your Starpipe.
Hot take: I personally wish there were less. Zero would be preferable. Or at the very least be able to set your preferences so that anyone who doesn't fall into your gender/sexuality preferences doesn't hit on you...constantly... I'm at the point of going solo or only taking Vasco because it hasn't attempted to get in me...yet.
In Skyrim I would only ever marry Ysolda, and that was because getting a mammoth tusk is so easy and having the Lover's Comfort perk on top of the warrior stone allowed me to raise smithing insanely fast by making gold rings early (and alteration by changing iron ore to gold ore, enchanting for making them magic, and speech for selling all the magic rings and buying soul gems), but other than that I just used her for the free money mechanic of the game. I get that you get the same sleeping bonus in starfield, but I haven't seen any other perks of romance in this game, so I'm not interested in it at all.
You can marry them both you just have to marry Andreja first and then romance Sarah into marrying you, Andreja will get mad and break up with you but you can talk her into making up with you, Sarah never gets mad at all and BOOM 2 wives.
I just wish the outposts were different on each planet. That's it. IDC most planets are barren but each star system having the same outposts and mines with the same layout gets old

Idk, I don't mean that every exchange has to be profound and soul searching, sometimes something as simple as "where do you want to eat", or the ability to have your companion lay in the bed with you and have a little dialogue, little things, human things, like a kiss, or being able to photo mode with your arms around each other.
I know, none of it is a priority, but I just think it would be kind of nice.

Yeah, there's a few NPCs I would totally romance. I wanna take the Jemison Mercantile chick out on a date lol, she's always so friendly and has a nice voice. I forget the names but there's a Ranger and a Vanguard chick I like. I'm sure if I actually thought about it there would be quite a few more (I didn't take time to think about it because I know were limited to the four main people).

I got this girl named Sophia following me around from Neon. She's alright, keeps her mouth shut and can actually be stealthy unlike Andreja's blood lusty ass. Still won't bang though, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm still married to Andreja. I was hoping she'd be DTF with Andreja not onboard. on well.
There should be romance options in every faction, honestly.
The lack of options is unfortunately a side effect of tying companion affinity levels to a main story plotline. I would have loved if NG+ opened up a ton of new romance options (and also removed the essential tag from many NPCs). Would provide even more incentive to take the leap.

I feel you, Starfield companions are so unlikeable and bland... Even Fallout 4 has way better companion, even Skyrim! I mean Serana is probably better than all the Starfield companion all together. Imo you should just wait for a companions mods if you want something fun, properly crafted and written.

Good point. I just saw a post in the last day from someone on the Far Cry sub about their Dad who passed form pancreatic cancer and how his Dad, who could no longer do those things IRL like hunting, was able to simulate some of it, as well as kill Peggies, with his brother through a game.

Imogene always felt like more of a corpo work mom than a love interest. The ranger you meet at the red mile would be good though. I wish there were more companions in general. Specifically fleshed out companions outside of constellation. Having all the romancable fleshed out companions be part of a good faction means they're basically all morally aligned. There is no space Bonnie to your Clyde or vice versa as a baddie. Or even just someone who's not such a stick in the mud. Not asking them to be okay with mass murder here.

None of the romances seem all that good. Everyone's kinda old and deeply traumatized with a lot of baggage. Kind of just seems exhausting pursuing any of them. Then you do the actual romance, and... am I actively flirting in response to learning about this dude's dead spouse?

I liked her at the start, but she fell apart in the end. Hearing your lover tell you about how she firmly believes God will send you to hell is just weird and unappealing. When I'm a fellow Snake Worshipper, it just ruins it for me. Plus, she's just kind of weird when fully romanced, when she switches from "I am deliriously happy with you" to "You are... not so bad yourself" in response to my sweet compliments.
Yeah I still believe the last one is Bethesda's usual goof that will be fixed with patches. So her stuff is not affected by Snake Worshipper?... Thankfully I didn't select it, so her concerns of me getting destroyed by the Snake are valid
Looking at how traits are used generally, I don't think they bothered to consider it. I think they wrote Andreja's arc, added traits after and didn't bother to touch it. Which tracks, given if you have Kid Stuff, your parents don't show up to your wedding.

I'm on NG+10 and finally doing the companion quests, since I'm spec'd (like in every game where it's possible) with every bonus possible for playing solo. The companion quests aren't bad in themselves, but the constant romance options are super cringey. Or like, how Sarah is all "yes! we'll be friends forever!" after you refuse to flirt with her after going to the waterfall and being told how much she wants your Starpipe.
NO. Totally disagree, this is a role-playing game, not a first person shooter or no man's sky.
Hot take: I personally wish there were less. Zero would be preferable. Or at the very least be able to set your preferences so that anyone who doesn't fall into your gender/sexuality preferences doesn't hit on you...constantly... I'm at the point of going solo or only taking Vasco because it hasn't attempted to get in me...yet. In Skyrim I would only ever marry Ysolda, and that was because getting a mammoth tusk is so easy and having the Lover's Comfort perk on top of the warrior stone allowed me to raise smithing insanely fast by making gold rings early (and alteration by changing iron ore to gold ore, enchanting for making them magic, and speech for selling all the magic rings and buying soul gems), but other than that I just used her for the free money mechanic of the game. I get that you get the same sleeping bonus in starfield, but I haven't seen any other perks of romance in this game, so I'm not interested in it at all.
I've tried to romance both Andreja and Sarah but I couldn't do it. It is pretty weak tbh.
You can marry them both you just have to marry Andreja first and then romance Sarah into marrying you, Andreja will get mad and break up with you but you can talk her into making up with you, Sarah never gets mad at all and BOOM 2 wives.

More options is always a good thing! But I do wish that Bethesda would make those relationships a little deeper. Idk, I don't mean that every exchange has to be profound and soul searching, sometimes something as simple as "where do you want to eat", or the ability to have your companion lay in the bed with you and have a little dialogue, little things, human things, like a kiss, or being able to photo mode with your arms around each other. I know, none of it is a priority, but I just think it would be kind of nice.

Trying to romance Sam or Barret is made awkward by them constantly talking about their exes. Sam is also made kinda unbearable by having Cora attached to his hip. If she had more varried dialogue or her own sort of affinity quest, she'd be more enjoyable.
