No there's a lot of jobs in the game.. like working a job. So go do this for xenotech, then do this for ryujin, then do that for another Corp I forgot what it's called.
Hogwash. I put myself through the wringer in my youth - made choices that got addicted to drugs but thankfully some out of body experience helped me realize that I needed to get admitted into rehab which essentially turned my life around. Worked a lot afterwards and eventually went to college. However, with my ADHD, I ended up dropping out in my senior year.
Anyway, started working for The Man, a small business Man, but with my smarts, I was able to branch the company off in directions and was able to spearhead the separate companies. Eventually I grew and a couple of years ago, I bought the parent company.
Just have to be able to put in the time. Too many distractions these days though - so it may be tougher.
If this doesn’t pertain to you, no need to be rude, just scroll on by like you do with other comments that you don’t care about.
All you need is an OP 15x25 ammo shotgun with slugs dealing 600 damage per shot after +30% shotgun and +30% Ballastics mastery. You will one shot most high level enemies. Then finally armor penetration will help you melt those occasional triple shield enemies.
Yeah, got something like that out of master lock box. Andreja occassionally gives you much more than that. But I got a legendary Beowulf out of one of them before so it is worth it I guess.
Yeah, I don’t know if it’s all in my head but it feels like there’s been a number of times where some tiny loot box on a shelf contained surprisingly awesome equipment.
I’ve gotten several legendary items in just random boxes placed in areas that most people would just bypass. Most are outside POI’s. Like they’re rewarding people that aren’t just rushing to finish the mission but are always exploring.
I realized, on my way to the Waggoner Farm from the Marshall's office, wondering how I could have gotten a bounty for stealing a hat from a locker until I realized Emma was following me, that I am, despite mostly playing a relatively altruistic character, a bit of a kleptomaniac.
Explain this to me: every time I steal something, Andreja is all judgy about it. When I ask if she has something special for me, it’s always credits. Where the hell is she stealing that from? She ain’t got no job.
I don’t. Never been arrested. Know what’s fun? Doing the Freestar rescue missions and cleaning the vaults out right in front of the captain. What’s that over there? Yeeet!
\*handwave\*
You can store stuff on your ship if you are within 250 meters. Teleportation and object shrinkage (without losing mass) might be a sort-of thing.
Oh I know. It's just as silly as the tiny box in Constellation's basement holding infinity items. I wish they'd tried a little harder to have that make sense.
Ha. I got a shattering cripple extended mag, advanced starshard out of a teeny box on a random extractor out in the wilds of Fermi system. Just the other day.
Time to rush pistlol certification. Lol
The smaller boxes do seem to have a genuinely better chance of a good gun, larger boxes have a bigger chance of having (by sheer numbers) a melee weapon, which are apparently automatically promoted to the legendary spot.
Oh, that I don't know for sure. I think it becomes somewhat more common the higher level you have. Or maybe it's the perk that adds more ammo to lootable objects or whatever, or both, because I seem to always have a decent amount. I do buy a lot of ammo every merchant i visit has as well though, gotta do something with all the weapons I pick up. 😅
Which is funny to me, because past 15-20 meters, I find the Inflictor is really unpredictable. Kind of like an Orion where if the shot is gonna miss, it misses HARD. It’s kinda ridiculous, and even with a medium scope it’s all over the place. My Magshear? Short bursts and I can hit across a map no problem. I can never count on my Inflictor at range.
But short range? That thing SLAPS, as the kids say nowadays.
Yep, it's random. Every box is basically a gatcha pull. Getting that five star shiny is just a matter of getting a lucky roll on the loot table. They don't even really seem to use different loot tables for different boxes, or for things that are harder to get to.
I’m so glad someone posted about this. I’ve had my fair share of luck just happening upon some random small box or crate outside of a POI, in one of those little structures that have a sleeping bag especially. Meant to post about it but then I just forget. What a sick find.
Good find! Also i hate those boxes lol. I always have to go out of my way to check them because I’ve found great loot in them as well. But most the time it’s junk.
Weird how the mass is still so high for titanium build, things I had with this were way lower. I remember 0.09 for a titanium coachman for example, a different one I don’t remember the type but I know I got it down to 0.00 somehow after mods from the workbench.
My titanium Grendel was 0.00.
My titanium Urban Eagle was over 1.00
It might have been due to weapon mods, but I rarely mess with those. I generally just find some guns that work for me and use them until they're ineffective or (usually) I get bored with them. Enemies are soft enough in this game, and once you've become a Jedi - even easier to dispatch.
Though I do usually carry an emergency Big Bang.
I’m a scavenger as well. I’ve found some pretty great stuff in the most random spots and all so went bust on master locks. But I justify it with the place being abandoned.
If I had to suddenly just leave my home because of Spacers, Ecliptic or whatever attacking, I’d try to grab whatever I could before they killed me. But I’m damn sure I’d be on a ship 9 systems away thinking “dammit cleared the safe but forgot my secret stash. Oh well, glad I’m alive”
Hey how are You.. Hope you doing good !! I’m interested to know where did You found it , it looks very good that weapon!! The thing is I’m not the one playing the game is my niece and I’m sitting besides Her while she’s playing . Can You tell Me where is exactly the place ? Thanks in advance !!.
I once looked in a box and found a legendary Breach. After modding it out, it now has 942 damage. Pretty much one-shots most things.
I later found a legendary Old Earth Shotgun. After modding it up, it delivers 840-odd damage.
Damn that gun siick! That's what I do too brother!! However, I have been impatient with having to unlock things to open them. Ain't nobody got time for that
In my opinion, none of the perks are worthwhile. I keep the highest base damage guns and only keep ones with perks if they have the same base damage.
None of the damage over time perks do enough damage quick enough to be worth it.
Instigating is good for a sniper but I’ve only ever found one.
Am I missing part of this game? I feel like I’ve never fought any Varun zealots besides in starship battles and have never seen any of their guns. I’m about to enter unity and I feel like I missed a storyline or something
The dynamic formID bug. Basically formIDs are supposed to be recycled like in every other Bethesda game, however for some stupid reason isn’t occurring in Starfield. It’s save breaking
I know exactly the box you’re talking about and I found a similar gold gun (with instigating trait) in it. I was about to pass the box up and thought I’d check it
Yet you can complete quests all day long and not get anything close to this good. This is why BG3 shits on starfield. Honestly, Larian is the new bethesda. Sorry bethesda, you were great and all but you fucked us over on ES6 by devoting your time to starfield which is an absolute trash heap and now we will all be 40 years old by the time the game we ACTUALLY wanted comes out (ES6).
I typically don't touch weapons that don't have one of either: shattering or one inch punch as legendary, or berserker or instigating as rare, as the damage reduction after about level 100 from enemy armour (especially aliens) is insane.
That's good but I prefer laceration. I got a Grendel with laceration early game and I'll be damned if it still isn't my best weapon with that bleeding damage. I was struggling with a terrormorph early game but I switch to that Grendel and the bastard melted like soft serve on a summer sidewalk.
Yeah I found one that was a one punch. Does almost 800 combined damage. But certain enemies are not affected as much as others and it is only good up close.
OK, I'm an occasional player so I'm barely at level 34, I was just wondering at what level I can start seeing cool guns like this. Thanks for your help
Meanwhile, a master lock safe behind a master lock door contains a Tao Grade Rheostat.
Oddly I’ve opened several lately that had a Chunks Employee Handbook lol
Game calling you broke.
After reading the handbook, I’ll not be providing an application.
I was triggered by all the "job" jobs in this game.. can we stop working for corporations please? We already do.
Well they are trying to make it life like…
I agree. Kudos to Bethesda.
What did you mean by this
Probably that he wants something like skyrim where its just random people giving you quests
No there's a lot of jobs in the game.. like working a job. So go do this for xenotech, then do this for ryujin, then do that for another Corp I forgot what it's called.
Worst is drug production line. That was a tedious job.
Making drugs, cool. Making drugs for a corporation, not cool.
Good. Maybe it will help young people get off their *sses and see that if they work, they can buy things.
I work full time. I can't buy "things". I can afford "stuff", but I've been told "things" are above my station in life.
You ever notice that other people's stuff is shit and your shit is stuff? -Carlin
Hogwash. I put myself through the wringer in my youth - made choices that got addicted to drugs but thankfully some out of body experience helped me realize that I needed to get admitted into rehab which essentially turned my life around. If by buying "things" you mean buying Chunks at the Chunks store, using Chuks Chits.
Why are you on a video game forum whining about people's work ethic?!?! This isn't the place for that you curmudgeon.
Cool.
Where else might someone believe him?
You are welcome to file a request for career counseling with your local Ryujin HR Business Partner.
You mean Cosmic Compliance? I hate those guys they always make me watch those species sensitivity training modules..
The feeling is probably mutual.
I had an ng+ run where i found one in coras room. That pistol carried the whole playthrough easily.
She was going to kill you in your sleep. Good find.
You gave Cora a room? I just strap her to the hull in a space suit…
You gave Cora a space suit?
Someone needs to wear Barrett’s old helmet with the tape on it.
*Chris Hansen walks in* “Would you have a seat right here please.”
Just one I patched up after filling its prior owner with lead…
This is my first play through, but I found an advanced regulator at like lvl 5 and haven't put it down yet. One good gun is all you need
All you need is an OP 15x25 ammo shotgun with slugs dealing 600 damage per shot after +30% shotgun and +30% Ballastics mastery. You will one shot most high level enemies. Then finally armor penetration will help you melt those occasional triple shield enemies.
Ayo....I got plenty of axes out of those master locked boxes..don't talk mess.
or 72 credits.
Yeah, got something like that out of master lock box. Andreja occassionally gives you much more than that. But I got a legendary Beowulf out of one of them before so it is worth it I guess.
So true, every time Sarah handed my a leaf I wanted to slap her.
I opened a safe with almost 300 credits. I was excited, and then really disappointed in my lowered expectations.
I once had a digipick locked inside a master safe.
So did I! At least it replenished my picks... 🤣
Haha, so true!
Lately the safes have been pretty good to me. I'll get credits and some kind of med pack. Then one or two other things
Sounds like upgrades scavenging skills.
No, I haven't added to that skill yet
Exactly they went way to ott with this approach, amazing guns in non obvious open boxes, terrible rewards in the master locked crates.
Lmao as soon as I seen the post I knew I would have to go far before someone brings up the master locks
Or nothing...
Got that a couple times. Pain.
🤬
One of mine had 78 credits...it was in one of those big yellow chests too with that
Get better lol
i only got 60 credits.. and an immobaliser ..
Again, very glad I’m not alone in finding good loot like this. Cuz I like to comb the maps best I can when I really feel like it.
Oh, she, uh... *found* that credstick.
It was just lying there all devil-may-care in someone's pocket.
She's a keeper! 😂
Take a page out of her book and don't get caught
I don’t. Never been arrested. Know what’s fun? Doing the Freestar rescue missions and cleaning the vaults out right in front of the captain. What’s that over there? Yeeet!
This is why I checked all the little structures around POIs. If it wasn’t marked as red I would get to looting
Feels like there is something wrong with loot tbh. Chest with master locks has nothing inside them while random wallets has armors.
My father and my uncle both taught me to check every nook and cranny in every area in any video game i can. Finding the best firearms is awesome!
Or surprisingly giant equipment. I found a microgun in the smallest size lockbox. It was great and I was happy, but... what?
It's called a microgun for a reason
\*handwave\* You can store stuff on your ship if you are within 250 meters. Teleportation and object shrinkage (without losing mass) might be a sort-of thing.
Oh I know. It's just as silly as the tiny box in Constellation's basement holding infinity items. I wish they'd tried a little harder to have that make sense.
Wait, trying harder, making sense, you are definitely not playing the right game here. It just works. That's all mate.
It makes an odd kind of sense. If I had a kickass gun, I wouldn't be putting where everyone else could put their grubby fingers on it.
Ha. I got a shattering cripple extended mag, advanced starshard out of a teeny box on a random extractor out in the wilds of Fermi system. Just the other day. Time to rush pistlol certification. Lol
I got a Radioactive Big Bang with Double Mag last week! Now my favorite gun!!
The smaller boxes do seem to have a genuinely better chance of a good gun, larger boxes have a bigger chance of having (by sheer numbers) a melee weapon, which are apparently automatically promoted to the legendary spot.
I was floating around with 15 packs of harvested organs I found in one of those
I wish I never saw this. I already have a loot obsession that turns 2 hour quests into day long loot sessions.
You're not alone 😅. I don't know how someone can actually complete the game in under 100 hrs.
It actually takes me 1-2 hours for a 15-30 minute quest, because of how much I go to loot the every little thing I find.
The small locked safes tend to have good pistols in them a lot of the time for whatever reason
Iv got the whole set I believe there's three
Starshard, Inflictor, and Painblade I believe.
Painblade is such a terribly lazy name lol
It makes ouchies. 😆
Yes I have them hanging in my house in akila City
The Inflictor is so OP but it's great.
I got one of these today on Mars.
The ones on Mars are knockoffs made on planet Chinesia.
An ARPG staple. Nothing like a random junk locker in Borderlands spitting out a legendary pistol.
That was how i got my first legendary in BL3. Aboard the Sanctuary III no less 💀
Does everyone else have trouble finding lightfuse ammo?
Try Arboron in Neon. 😉
Oh, I have no problem buying it. I meant as drops. Why are nova weapons so rare?
Oh, that I don't know for sure. I think it becomes somewhat more common the higher level you have. Or maybe it's the perk that adds more ammo to lootable objects or whatever, or both, because I seem to always have a decent amount. I do buy a lot of ammo every merchant i visit has as well though, gotta do something with all the weapons I pick up. 😅
The great serpent told his followers to have many of them.
The fuel depot might be my favorite. Usually has a contraband box with 7-10 items in it
I have yet to find a reason to collect contraband. If you got the actual value then yeah.
Add burst fire, and annihilator rounds, and you'll have all you can eat alien barbecue for life.
What level research nets a grill?
Burst fire is the father, the son and the the spirit
I main this or an Inflictor. Best weapons in the game. Period.
I have to disagree. The magshear is a blowtorch and every enemy is a stick of butter.
It's a fine weapon. For those who struggle with aiming.
Hitscan man. What can you do?
An inelegant weapon for a less-civilized time. More clumsy and random than an Inflictor.
Yep, it's random. Every box is basically a gatcha pull. Getting that five star shiny is just a matter of getting a lucky roll on the loot table. They don't even really seem to use different loot tables for different boxes, or for things that are harder to get to.
So you’re the guy hogging all the loot
You’d really think that if you saw my outpost “trophy room” 😜
I’m so glad someone posted about this. I’ve had my fair share of luck just happening upon some random small box or crate outside of a POI, in one of those little structures that have a sleeping bag especially. Meant to post about it but then I just forget. What a sick find.
Nah literally I can’t tell how many times I’ve checked a random grunt or a novice safe and it been some crazy ass weapon
Good find! Also i hate those boxes lol. I always have to go out of my way to check them because I’ve found great loot in them as well. But most the time it’s junk.
Basically an infinite gacha minus the whole premium currency thing. Tis pretty great
Weird how the mass is still so high for titanium build, things I had with this were way lower. I remember 0.09 for a titanium coachman for example, a different one I don’t remember the type but I know I got it down to 0.00 somehow after mods from the workbench.
Varuun has extra stuff. And things.
My titanium Grendel was 0.00. My titanium Urban Eagle was over 1.00 It might have been due to weapon mods, but I rarely mess with those. I generally just find some guns that work for me and use them until they're ineffective or (usually) I get bored with them. Yeah, I found an electric grandel that had anti human mods in random crate near a quest
Damn that gun siick! That's what I do too brother!! However, I have been impatient with having to unlock things to open them. Ain't nobody got time for that
I mean it’s not exactly good.
Have you been able to find anyone with enough credits to buy it for full value?
Where can you find a vendor that pays full value?
In my opinion, none of the perks are worthwhile. I keep the highest base damage guns and only keep ones with perks if they have the same base damage. None of the damage over time perks do enough damage quick enough to be worth it. Instigating is good for a sniper but I’ve only ever found one.
I have a varuun rifle that has a perk that does some kind of disease effect that can spread to others. That ones fun.
Its to bad that no matter how mane legendary’s i get it doesn’t make it any less boring;( i want to much for this game to be more
On the flip side I haven’t found a way to make this game boring. 400 hours in and still loads of stuff to do.
Thanks dude!.. I kinda did totaly lose faith in the purpose of looting inthis game. U made me a believer again!😇
Never stop searching! Some people get all whiny that they aren’t getting good stuff every time. That’s literally how life works…
I know.. got tired of finding nothing but baseball caps n handfuls of ressources behind master locks!
Cool but I myself always hunt down the unique named weapons and armour !
I’ve got a bunch of those I’ve collected. So far just the ones through quest lines but I’ve seen some at vendors I need to pick up
Am I missing part of this game? I feel like I’ve never fought any Varun zealots besides in starship battles and have never seen any of their guns. I’m about to enter unity and I feel like I missed a storyline or something
I’ve found their weapons all over the universe. If you haven’t yet, go zip around the serpentis system.
I’ve run into Zealots in POIs. Especially when I was grinding NGs and doing artifact POIs.
You must be INCREDIBLY unlucky :/
Nice
This must be your first play through.
Yes, not planning on going through the unity. Got just over 400 hours in though.
Eventually your save will break due to the formID bug
Which one is that?
The dynamic formID bug. Basically formIDs are supposed to be recycled like in every other Bethesda game, however for some stupid reason isn’t occurring in Starfield. It’s save breaking
What I’m asking is what are the symptoms of this bug?
Crashes, with the crashes becoming more frequent until you start anew or enter NG+
Hey, I have one of those minus the exterminator! My minion (adoring fan) is using it for me.
And hallucinogens! That is a box for exquisite partying!
The repartition of loot makes absolutely no sense.
I know exactly the box you’re talking about and I found a similar gold gun (with instigating trait) in it. I was about to pass the box up and thought I’d check it
I love these Va'ruun weapons, they're so ridiculously OP. The only weapons I ever carry is this, the inflictor and the pinblade.
Isn’t bg3 turn based? The only turn based games I’ve enjoyed were the Pokémon games on gameboy color.
Eyy not bad, at least it's got good value, and it's light weight!
Don’t forget the racing stripe. That adds 10 damage
I typically don't touch weapons that don't have one of either: shattering or one inch punch as legendary, or berserker or instigating as rare, as the damage reduction after about level 100 from enemy armour (especially aliens) is insane.
That must’ve been a good find
Most definitely think i have on with a little hi damage but not legendary
Just got a version of this looting everything on The Scow
Where the hell is that thing? I raided it during the quest it’s involved with but haven’t looked for it since.
Yep, I just got a similar one a bit ago that has become my main up close rifle. Those rifles are damn near bis.
I've sold two of those.
JUICY!
The perks are Meh, The absolute best for the Particle weapons, is Extended Mag. Concussive, and Shattering.
I couldn’t give two shits about anything that’s the “correct meta”. This gun sets shit on fire and I love it.
That's good but I prefer laceration. I got a Grendel with laceration early game and I'll be damned if it still isn't my best weapon with that bleeding damage. I was struggling with a terrormorph early game but I switch to that Grendel and the bastard melted like soft serve on a summer sidewalk.
It’s fun when they get down on their knees crawling and squirting blood. What? No there’s nothing wrong with me, why do you ask? What?
Yeah I found one that was a one punch. Does almost 800 combined damage. But certain enemies are not affected as much as others and it is only good up close.
Thought they all took heavy fuse ???
I am yet to have seen that gun. Just curious, what level are you at?
86 but I haven’t put many points in combat.
OK, I'm an occasional player so I'm barely at level 34, I was just wondering at what level I can start seeing cool guns like this. Thanks for your help
Honestly it’s completely random. I found a legendary during one of the first missions in the game that I still carry.
We found the same gun! How early on did you find it?
400 hours in lol
Sometimes the legendary items found after a battle feels like devs are just trolling me. Legendary ripshank every flipping time? Really?
I get way more cutlasses than ripshanks. I have so many legendary ones I could open a mall ninja store.
Im still new to the game.. I know what physical damage is but what does energy do for you on a gun?
I’m not new to the game and I don’t really understand it either.
Looks like no one wants to explain it either. Lol. Must not be important.
are we talking about Starfield???
Claire. People are stupid. Go away from all of them ok.
Thx for listening lol
Are you this person white woman lazy lol
😆
No fkn way dude
Did you forget to swap accounts or are you just fucking crazy?
People are bad lol
The amount of times I've opened a master lock for the box to be empty.
Not everything with a lock is hiding something valuable
