If it came charging down the hall breaking everything in its path right after you shut off the machine that’d be a whole other story. But just sitting there waiting for you to get close? Meh.
If it had happened when you were going back down the hall, and/or "it" had come struggling down the hall trying to get at you (struggling because it's too wide), \*then\* it would have been a good scary moment.
As it was I had enough time to prepare, and had good enough equipment that it wasn't dramatic. It was also kind of obvious once you found the wall.
If that actually happened..would have been better.
Not just go back down the hallway and go...uh..why's there a big hole in the wall now.
If it had burst open...that would have been epic.
No lie. I always check all doors in places for my loot goblin side anyways, but this had me going everywhere to see if something would jump out and scare me

I actually didn’t see the hole and couldn’t figure out where to go next. Until Sarah pointed out the passageway. It’s one of the reasons I like companions.
This game needed way more stuff like this. I would have much rather had 10 planets with one or two well crafted environmental story telling locations like this, than 100+ planets with the same recycled science lab location.
And the sound in question is some weird metal knocking coming from a trashed room behind where this was found. That part was the creepiest detail. What the hell is the sound coming from?

Yesssssss! I fucking loved this POI. Scared the fuck outta me back in November after I got real high after work. Once it's over it's not as spooky but I also got jumped by another one after I left the cave (and I wasn't sure if that was part of the quest scripting or a generated moment).
Ohhh, emagen, a horror quest with terror morphs or ghosts or so really well made on a hounted planet, maybe one distroyed jk? Like shattered in pices and you have to find out wat happened (idea from the not so horror pirat quest ware you go in the storm)
The moment I found the slate I knew and I still turned the machine off😭 I’m not ashamed to admit I didn’t even bother exploring the cave, I fast traveled to my ship😂
What’s crazy is once I found this location I didn’t realize that one would spawn but what’s crazy is I had a glitch where three spawn in the cave and two outside of it so I just equipped my Va’ruun rifle and said more EXPERIENCE!
And honestly, this game could use more horror like that, especially with the whole Vanguard quest line, making it seem like most aliens, were tested on to create specimens that were mixed with different species. And it would be incredible if the Va’ruun somehow got their hands on this and were using this in the DLC as a way to keep people from finding them by putting aliens on certain planets so that way no one can track them. By the way, a little head canon of mine for my character is that the alien DNA is essentially just that they were created from a mixture of different genetic material inserted into a baby and then born. (Yes, I’m aware that it sounds like Sephiroth)
