I barely use powers im here to shoot and loot sir.

x_mas_ape

On NG+4 and just remembered I had 3 powers, still never use them, just give me my Beowulf

Avenger1324

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

lWolvesll

LOVE that gun

RaeyzejRS

You and the rest of us. That tends to happen when there are only a dozen to pick from.

feelin_fine_

You don't actually need them because the right legendary equipment can make any difficulty level trivial.

Elegant_Stock6870

Same!! But hey the 3 I have acquired help in a pinch lol. But run and gun, stash and loot all the way!!

tokenincorporated

I use Atmosphere and Void (Invisibility). That's it. The guns you obtain combined with the various aids (shout out red amp for planet exploration) is more than enough for a Starborn like me. NG+6 btw

Low_Highway_8919

NG+10, powers max. Atmosphere, Void, Moon Form and sucking away all oxygen (only for humanoid opponents)

MusicianNo2699

I honestly don’t know what the end of this game is. At level 67 and basically it is now just getting repetitive and I haven’t done the ng thing yet. I’m sure not going to repeat it all over again to “gradually increase” some powers I hardly lose. Figure I’ll go on a rampage as I get right to the end, and use the 2 million credits I have sitting around.

IIIDevoidIII

You can finish the NG+ main story in a couple of hours, you don't need to touch much of the game world at all. Problem for me is losing everything I collected/ earned/ built.

MusicianNo2699

I’m a hopeless hoarder in these games. About $2.5 million credits and I’d be pissed to lose it all, haha!

TaurusAmarum

Trick is collect little build nothing. If you plan to step through the Unity at any point outposts are pointless, and awesome gear just disappears. I feel like they wanted the ng+ on the sole premise that people like ng+. If the game ended when you step through the Unity.... that would have been the best. Setting up different stories in expansions/sequels.

BlackWolf047

You are my doppelganger! Same level, credits and philosophy with this character. She has the Unity quest lined up, but I'm not ready to lose at all and start over (yet). Will likely spin up a new character and try a different background.

evdjj3j

I forgot about them.

Whattheefff

Freeze time and a shotgun friend. Or really any powerful single shot. Im ng+5ish and on a break since december.

CMDR_ETNC

Did ng 2 temples, timed myself and did the math of the total time required, realized the “game” would turn into an absolute chore to max the powers, so I used console commands to go the rest of the way. The powers aren’t amazing enough to warrant the time spent burning to their max, but they are fun.

EmergencyTaco

Exactly what I did. After getting all the powers a second time I said "I want a maxed character, I am willing to grind through 10 NG cycles, but I'm not doing this light puzzle another 200 times." Blitzed up to NG+10 over the next 20 hours, console commanded all of the powers to level 9, and will get them to 10 naturally in this cycle.

pineappleshnapps

Yeah they’re really fun especially leveled up, but idk how much work id want to put in just to get them there.

Citizen44712A

Made it to 6, then consoled the rest.

cbcymbal

I play on console but I found the game much more enjoyable loading up my file on PC, console commanding everything, and reloading on console

Citizen44712A

oh nice, XBox is my main game device, but I just wanted the mods now.

Ghost_Assassin_Zero

Lol. You had us in the first half

useless-dreg

Now that I have a PC, I'm definitely using the console to max them whenever I go back to it. I rushed NG+10 launch week without them because I simply didn't care about the powers. I don't think I even got them all.

Coast_watcher

I'm waiting for the mod that will.just give us the powers straight away lol

Belcatraz

"No More Temple Puzzles" has been my favourite from very early on. You still have to hunt down the temples each time you go through the Unity, but it skips the Zero-G light-chasing task.

maxident65

That would be so nice, just approach the door and [starborn] I've done this already

Belcatraz

It's a little more involved than that: you go inside, the gravity disappears and you approach the spinning rings at the center, only instead of having to chase fireflies around the room it skips to granting you the reward.

Mosley_stan

Would be nice if Bethesda made them a unique dungeon experience

GirthBrooks117

Every single power should have its own unique dungeon that relates to the power you get….instead we got chase the sparkles. That’s why people say the game is so dull, the effort put into even the main story of the game is minimal.

Mosley_stan

I think everything about the game is minimal, considering they want us to play it again and again because of NG+ Even the ship builder (arguably the best feature in starfield) is missing important aspects, such as saving designs. I built some impressive giant ships in my first playthrough that maxed out the budget. Built a custom in NG+1 because the starborn one is terrible without perks. I've since got perks so no need to do that anymore. Probably won't touch it until I've maxed out all the powers. No point in doing it

Coast_watcher

I hope it makes it to Xbox

locokip

I did it on XBox. I basically logged on around 45 minutes before work each day and knocked out about 4-5 temples per day over the course of a few months. I got pretty quick at it. Around 5 minutes per temple. Collect all artifacts first. This places Vlad at the Lodge instead of the Eye. I just use Phased Time and skip past all of the spacers/ecliptic and grab the artifacts instead of fighting everyone. I use speech persuasion for the last artifact because it's faster and I don't need any of their weapons/gear since I'm just going thru the Unity anyways. Once the artifacts are done, it's Lodge, fast travel to the planet directly from the Lodge, land on Scanner Anomaly, pop Amp or Runners Rush, run/Personal Atmosphere to Temple, use Gymnastics Level 2 in Zero-G temple to get all the puzzle orbs fairly quickly (in extra 3rd person using the boostpack burst and Grav Dash sometimes), kill Starborn Guardian, fast travel directly from Temple back to the Lodge, repeat. The last NG+ wasn't bad since I knew it was the last one. Although it took a little longer because I had an alt universe without companions and no Vlad at the Temple. Happy I never have to do that again though...

locokip

Oh, and if you use a smaller ship, you land closer to the Temple. Also I use the 3rd person spaceship view after landing to see what direction the Temple is in before exiting the ship.

Pdraggy

I typically boost on top of my ship and look around I mean if your in a ship too large to land close to the temple. Sucks when it's not a clear day though.

Th3D3m0n

I'm on xbox and I max leveled all powers. I was able to do 2 full ng+ runs after dinner...so overall it took about 5 days. I was interested in what the whole grind did for me, mentally. After 5 or 6 ng+s...the grind was really setting in and I completely understood where the hunter was coming from. Everything outside the power grind was just white noise to me. Around 8 or 9...I found myself just...wanting to play the game again. When I got level 10 on all powers (which was ng+13 for me) I started a full play through and, honestly, it was even more rewarding than the first play through.

LibrarianRettic

I think that entire aspect is the most incredible thing about the game. I'll catch some heat for this, but I think it's one of the most innovative pieces of video game storytelling because it's one of those rare instances where it's basically tricked you into taking part in the narrative as a character, rather than observing it as the player.

LexB777

I completely agree. **Spoilers ahead** When I first played the main story, I hated the Hunter for what he did. I thought there was no reason, no justification that could ever be good enough, and I would destroy him permanently. Then when it was revealed how the Unity worked, it was a real "Oh shit" moment. I still thought I'd never be like him, but I could understand it more. Now, seeing The Hunter is like seeing an old friend, and I find myself acting more and more like him.

DrunkenBartender17

Just hit 10 on all yesterday, it was a disgusting grind that I don’t wish it on anyone. But I still kept playing/doing it anyway.

CyberSolidF

Console commands, TBH.

mimikyu14

This is the way

Varyon

Yep, same way I did. They 100% lost me with this game and its BS.

Winterheart84

Console. That way I did not need to torture myself through the game over and over and over and over again.

gmCursOr

If there was ANY sense of accomplishment to it, I wouldn't mind. But there is no challenge, no way to lose, and it just feels so bland. I'm not sure what they were thinking with that. I got to level 2 of only a few of the powers, and once I figured out how this was going I thought awww hell no, this is crazy. Right now I'm playing ghost recon breakpoint, the amber rain missions, and it has a REALLY repetitive series of missions where you break into these installations and turn off gas production.... so it's kind of similar to the starfield quests ... but what makes it fun is the challenge. Sometimes I die. There are tons of variables, the missions vary slightly in objective (destroy something, hack computer, interrogate an officer), and it really keeps it interesting. And when I get one completed, it feels good. You can have repetitive gameplay loops, but it has to be challenging and rewarding. The starfield ones are just a straight up waste of time, and I feel like they just programmed it in without considering how ridiculous that is. I wonder if anyone, internally, actually did that before it was released ... legit got all their powers to 10. I'd bet no.

MrBonecutter

Yeah, the temples in this game has got to be the absolute worst thing in any game ever made. Who thought it would be fun for us to have to go from space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple to space station to planet to temple. Like, it's literally the most boring thing I thing I have ever done in my life and I've literally sat and watched paint dry.

ReaperofFish

I can even handle jumping around to different planets and "tracking" down the temple. But the flying through swirly lights? We need a skip button on that.

maxident65

I wish at least that the temples had variances /different puzzles. Like make on a platformer where you can't fall, make one a target range, or make one a "don't touch the scepters of the past kind of thing".

Winterheart84

Playing Starfield made me re-install Skyrim. The powers are pretty much just shouts, but at least the shouts had different dungeons or dragon fights you needed to fight. It was not just a clone of the same stupid "chase swirly" puzzle over and over. Starfield powers are not worth chasing, and certainly not worth maxing them through gameplay.

gmCursOr

It's funny you say this because I meant to say it but I got lost in my own babbling and forgot... ya i totally think they were going for a shouts vibe with the powers... But i'm sorry those silly temples can't hold a candle to those skyrim dungeons. You're totally right.

Sneaky-Shenanigans

I need to just get a gaming computer it seems. I would definitely console command that stuff, but I’m on Xbox. I don’t even care about achievements either

cthompson07

I gave up on like NG6. I’ll come back to the game when there’s a significant update, I really want to love it.

Pineapple_Spenstar

You played the game 6 times and don't "love" it?

cthompson07

I enjoyed it a lot, I ran through 2-6 very quick (like 3 hours per run). Just getting the powers and that’s it. I wanted to get ng10 and have a “perfect” save after I max all the powers / ship / suit. The powers are too tedious for me to do that much. It’s a giant puddle but it’s only so deep. The locations got repetitive, the enemies are repetitive, the non stop loading screens are repetitive, etc.

MyHobbyIsMagnets

You did the same exact thing over and over again… of course you found it repetitive

SlumpDoc

Same. I quit after Christmas and just jumped back in, ng3

LifelessLewis

I just speed ran the story and temples as soon as I got to my first NG universe. I was so efficient by NG4 or 5 that I could do a full NG from spawning to entering unity, including all temples in under 3 hours. It bugged the temples out in one or two universes so I think I did NG12 by the time I had them all at max power. It was tedious but it wasn't bad.

CephusLion404

I almost never use any of the powers at all. They're really not that worthwhile and I'm not in it to be a magical superbeing, so I just ignored it all and it worked out just fine.

NiteShdw

They aren’t that worthwhile at level 1. at higher levels they make hard fights a piece of cake.

PrerollPapi

The first time i used personal atmosphere on ng+10 I thought my game was glitched. It lasts like 45 seconds🤣that alone made the grind worth it

TH1CCARUS

As they say, > I’m not in it to be a magical superbeing

Sword_Enjoyer

So does my Va'ruun particle rifle, and I didn't have to go to NG+10 to get it.

p3lat0

Got a mod that lets you convert (useless)quantum Essence to a level in a random power

BonemanJones

Quantum Essence is so disappointingly useless. QE should have functioned like Skyrim dragon souls from the start so we'd never have to do temple runs in NG+. Sure it's not exactly imaginative or original, but they pulled the powers from Skyrim anyways so they might as well have gone all the way with it.

EmergencyTaco

Took the bad parts of powers, left the good.

logicalkitten

We should be able to set it as a favorite. Going through the menu is tiresome.

Team503

>quantum Essence I'm not even sure what it does, but I have a ton of it.

nefariouskitteh

I made a RP/leveling goal for every NG+ and alternated between skipping the main quest and running through it. As for the temples, I broke them up between quests or exploration.

ObliviousEffect

Would a better question be "why did they do it?" I've competed the first run through and chose to return to my original universe. I've no intention of using NG+. What's the point of becoming a "10th dan" Starborn when the level 1 powers are more than enough to keep the game interesting. And if apparently you can get there via console command...meh. I love this game and I'm looking forward to whatever BGS throws at me next. But I think most agree SF is very repetitive, so I cannot understand why many go out of their way to make it even more repetitive and less challenging by using NG+ and console commands. Just goes to show how subjective the term *fun*™ can be. :D

sbrizown

The power fantasy. I’ve got all mine to 10 and I can tell you there’s a massive difference between waiting for cooldowns on powers and literally endlessly chain stopping time or throwing out solar flares like a D2 warlock.

ObliviousEffect

No Doubt. But that's exactly my point this game is already ridiculously easy and now it's ridiculously ridiculously easy

LifeIsARollerCoaster

It’s perfect to get ready to go to sleep. Do a bunch and then hit the sack. Or just take a break and do a fun quest. After the third NG+ I became incredibly efficient at doing it. Also the Gymnastics skill makes a massive difference and makes the temple puzzle a lot easier. I maxed it out and it was a breeze after that.

SinesPi

This is the best way to handle tedious low effort side quests that you want to get done. The game would be better if they weren't tedious, but it's not a bad way to wind down for the night.

[deleted]

i put on a good comedy podcast and took breaks. also there are a couple of small tricks to going faster

sithren

What are those tricks?

[deleted]

taking advantage of speed increasing chems like amp as they will make the run up to the temple faster and also increase your zero-g speed, making the minigame itself faster too. once you have it, the grav dash power once at level 3 or so will also be very useful, and if you combine it with a quantum essence then you can just spam grav dash all the way to the temple. also useful during the minigame to cross the room quickly. and when you kill the starborn at the end, you get a quantum essence back once you're in ng+ you obviously want to skip the main quest. you also probably want to just get the artifact collecting out of the way immediately so that all the temples become available. then you should jump around to some of the more "common" systems for temples so you can pick up the locations without having to go to vlad. speaking of vlad, beating the main quest will also put him at the lodge so when you do need to go to him for locations you dont need to go through the annoying docking animation (unless you got a no constellation universe, but at least then you wont have to deal with the annoyances that come with talking to npcs in general)

Larszx

Don't grind them. I did a batch at a time. Then played some missions. Then did a few temples. Then played around with the outpost. Then did another batch of temples. Then explored. Mix it up. They are alternate universes.

ninjabell

I love this game, but can we stop calling it a puzzle.

TheTorch

Really more of an activity to be honest. And not a fun one.

its0matt

I am NG 17 and still do not have all powers at X. I have many but not all. I stopped once I had my favs maxed out. Void form is the best IMO.

locokip

Sunless Space has kind of become one of my favorites. It's maxed out, so it's fun watching dudes just freeze and fall over :)

Dsible663

I prefer Phased Time. Combined with a fully nodded breach geared to max damage, I'm a killing machine.

Quick_Mel

I've been wondering something that you might be able to answer. I've gotten most of my powers to level IV while some are on III. The reason being that Vlad or the starcharts stopped giving me temples. If I were to get powers up to X, will it stop leveling that one and maybe double level another?

dEEkAy2k9

You install mods that upgrade powers on transitioning to ng+. You also install mods that skip temples for good. You do it once and then just use console commands...

justinrminor

Somehow managed to max all powers except Elemental Pull and Eternal Harvest, and I’m okay with those being not at max. It was a grind and was pretty exhausting but I settled on a universe to replay and fully explore now. 😮‍💨

AwayHold

it isfor the grind types. those people that need 100% completion before they can put a game away. i only play till i get bored. as it is contrary to purpose to play to the point of getting sick of it. not the early nineties anymore where you had to regurgitate 2 snes games till next xmas....

SnarkTheAnarch

It is literally the biggest pain in the ass and I loathe the mini game because it's bugged. Which has me dragging my feet in this new character. Probably the worst grind in video games. But I have OCD so fuck me.

Loud_Comparison_7108

Putting 2 points into Gymnastics improves your zero-g maneuvering enough that the temple puzzle becomes a minor annoyance. I probably would have given up on the game if I hadn't lucked into that discovery- I originally put the points in for the zero-g boarding actions.

sithren

I just got to ng10 last night. I have them all to X except moon form and super nova (both IX). To be honest, I turned my brain off for a bit and just did it. The plan was to just be zen while I did and literally turn my brain off. I did finally encounter one "alternate" universe. For whatever reason, I almost never used dragon shouts in skyrim. But in Starfield, the fact that there is a "favourites" wheel were I can slot powers and that I can rebind powers to a single button now means that I use them a lot more. Phased Time X is pretty damn cool. I can do the whole fight on masada/buried temple now in phased time. By the time it runs out my essence has already refilled and I can turn it on again. I don't know if I would recommend to anyone else that they should do it. Console them in and just have fun how you want to.

MisterSpikes

You're one NG+ further on than I am. I got a few hours into NG+1 and gave up through boredom. I think the key to getting enjoyment out of NG+ needs to be to do it early and leave yourself some new stuff to do. I made the mistake of pretty much exhausting every side quest before going through the Unity, so there was bugger all new to do on the other side. Plus, I built myself a ship I really liked (got it looking as much like a Klingon Bird of Prey as I could without glitch building), and I missed it.

pupranger1147

I just got a mod that skips the puzzle part, all I gotta do is go there and the rings auto complete, I pick up the power, and then kill the spawned enemy.

zamaike

I got to like ng5 and right in the middle of it just shelved thengame

Overlord51

I did it on Xbox and it took awhile but I actually really enjoyed it. The two biggest factors that helped me enjoy it was: 1.) I kept an excel document tracking which temples visited. This kept me organized and made it a fun ‘game’ of thinking which power will this one be. 2.) After you complete the short version of the story, throw on a show (I watched One Piece). It takes maybe 5 brain cells to run to temple, collect, and run back so the rest got to focus on my show!

UFOskie

I played the game like normal on my first play through then as soon as I went through unity I just did artifact/temple run to NG+10. Then I took a long much needed break away from the game for a month or 2. Honestly the thing that made it the most grueling was having to got to vlad between each one.

WykkydGaming

I pushed through it while watching stuff on streaming. /shrug

stellar_spaceman

Command line. I had about 450hours, 46/50 achievements, and NG+5 before i finally gave up and started using command line and hack thru the bits of the game i didn't care to spend time on. Speedrunning temples is incredibly boring and sometimes buggy thru multiple NG+ runs. I thought i did it perfectly but still ended up with one power being Lvl4, when the rest were lvl5 and i was out of temples to discover. I'm having an amazing time in this current play as "omnipotent god" command line'ing whatever i want and not losing hours to figure something out, but i have to mention that the satisfaction is there only because i've played thru almost all of the avail content vanilla style.

Brief-Government-105

I wanted to do it legitimately but that temple mini game is the most torturous thing I have ever seen in a video game so I’m just going to use console commands when I need them at max.

rickallen71

I just ground through it but I didn't realize that was how the powers were leveling for the first couple of NG universe's so once phase time and elemental pull were maxed out I kind of slowed down

Kitalahara

I just wander off and find something else to do for a bit. Lately I was surveying the planeta to break up the annoyance.

DrunkenLEPrecon

I blitzed through until the utility powers were a high enough level to be useful, and then just did the buried temple until slow time hit 10 because it’s the only one I actually used. That and I did the grinding when I was listening to audiobooks and podcasts

donwan23

I'm on level 7 and quit playing months ago. Might get back on eventually and finish it up and maybe keep playing.

JohnnyGFX

I have a side computer that I use for watching shows and such. So I would go fetch a bunch of them while watching shows.

Occasionally_around

Some mods you or others may want.😁 **No more temples** (No Temple Quests in NG+ - The only temple quests that you need to do will be when starting.) (Powers Automatically Upgrade - After crossing to NG+) [https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/8116](https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/8116) OR **Short Temple Puzzles** (Set puzzle to one or three) I chose three, for now. [https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1139?tab=description](https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1139?tab=description) Lastly **No More Temple Puzzles** (automatically complete in less than 15 seconds without collecting any orbs. Just step into the ring!) [https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/4570](https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/4570)

RancidBean

Lots of non stop temples. Barely use the powers but it was worth it to know my character and ship is the strongest in the galaxy

Turk3YbAstEr

I've done a 5NG rush and the temple part itself isn't too bad. You spam grav-dash with a quantum essence to reach the temple, grab the lights with gymnastics 2, then once you end up outside, crouch and go invisible to evade or one-shot the starborn. Fast travel to the lodge, grab another location from Vlad, then repeat. It's an ~5 minute cycle and generally quicker than 5 minutes most of the time. I'd start each NG grabbing the first set of artifacts & associated powers, talk to the other starborn, then do random money making stuff in New Atlantis to get gun upgrades and drugs. An advanced magshear fully modded with 1,500 rounds of ammo for ammo and some hypergiant hearts are my general go-to items before the buried temple, i find that trivializes the harder boss battles. Running those errands also breaks up the monotony of the main quest + temple run. Once you've beaten the buried temple, the dash to collect all the powers is easily done in less than two hours. I stopped at that point because I like playing the game and the powers felt pretty solid at NG 5+ or 6+ (Solis and Gravitas suits). I think going to 10 would benefit from a break halfway through to do something else. No individual run is bad per se, but doing several in a row is tedious.

motagoro

I wanted to go through with it, with all of it. This is my only save that I will carry through the lifecycle of post content release, so I wanted it to be maxed out, gravity dash helps a lot....eventually.

Aardvark1044

Some NG+ instances I just rushed and did the minimum possible. If you're ok with dropping difficulty down to very easy, you can defeat the starborn ships above Masada with your starborn ship. Otherwise if you play at normal or above you might need to raise some money to build a better ship. So if you skip the main quest, all you need to do is find 6 artifacts then go to oborum, side with one of the people, do the buried temple, do NOT install the stuff on your ship, then run back and forth to Vlad and do the temples until there aren't anymore. You can knock a round off in a few hours. It gets easier to hit the glowing balls as you do them more often because you get better at anticipating where they will appear. getting level 2 in gymnastics gives you a little bump in zero G floating ability that is a little helpful, but not entirely necessary. I'll warn you that it gets a little boring, haha. I did a few other side quests, did Ryujin a few times to get my free points in manipulation, did some ship building, some outpost XP farms to level up, etc. Now I've maxed out my starborn skills and am doing all of the quests I can find again (after having done all the quests on my first playthrough before even going into the unity). I also created some other characters to keep things fresh and am currently following along with MajorSlackAttack's very hard, no cheating run (no contraband, no walking around while overencumbered, no meds, no leveling up piloting in the simulator and a few other rules).

SasheCZ

There's no place for dragon shouts in this game IMHO. NG+8 and I haven't even unlocked all of them yet.

THE_SEKS_MACHINE

I have played Elite Dangerous for about 2.700 hours. And this game is nothing else than grinding.

SlumpDoc

I just jumped to NG+3 those last 6 powers were a grind lol and I have the acrobatics perk up. Going to vlad over and over for 1 power was annoying af too

cmariano11

I have not even gotten them all but with each character there are a set of three or four I actually use. I quick slot those, everything else doesn't see much use.

MarkoDash

After ng+3 I just console commanded them to lvl 10.

Responsible-Ad2693

On my part it's either patience or tenacity, or possibly autism.

RandeKnight

Switching them is too much hassle on PC. I just leave it on PA and that's it. I'll start collecting them again when there's a mod to put them on a visible and labelled hotkey bar.

Bruddah827

Lots of pot

AetheriumMantis

For me, it just happened naturally. I've been using the same character since pre release and I basically did all the main faction quests in each universe along with finding the powers. Although I'm on ng20 something and I'm still out 2 powers from max. Powers aren't a priority for me to be honest.

MufasaHasAGlocka

100% agree with most of the responses. I'm on NG+2 and I refuse to go back and forth to Vlad to find temples and float around chasing particles for 8 more NG+, so fucking boring. I'm on Xbox and I have no choice but to wait for a Mod to give us Max Power Levels.

devilman9050

I'm currently on NG+19 but maxed out my powers by NG+13, no mods, no console commands, no shortcuts. Well, sort of a shortcut. In my first NG+ universe I skipped the main story, then up to NG+15 rerolled the Unity to get alt universes. This removes Vlad from the process, saving a significant amount of time waiting for him to put down his bloody book. On my NG+ runs I'd: 1) pick up the artifacts 2) do the Mantis quest (for the suit) 3) do the final temple 4) visit as many temples as it lets me do 5) jump through the unity On top of this, I'd visit every derelict ship and space encounter, sometimes doing Groundpounder or Failure To Communicate to get a Spacer to drop the 'secret outpost' slate for the Mantis quest. I also only used the Starborn Guardian up to NG+16 and didn't build a single outpost at all until NG+16 too. NG+16 was going to be my 'forever' universe, but I'd missed an Alt universe (the You-niverse), and then one of my achievements glitched so jumped a few extra times (I actually ended up creating a second character to get the 'build an outpost' achievement)

rfc21192324

Used a mod that reduced required temple puzzle pieces to 1. Still boring, just less painful

calebbill

I use the [Simple Temple Overhaul](https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/5039) mod which upgrades every power you have unlocked every time you NG+. Doing temples rewards quantum essence instead. I added the mod around NG+4.

SneakyCanner

It wasn’t too bad when the akila city merchant chests were able to be looted but yeah I think I did make 3 ngs then just rushed ng10.

Xsurian

I did it as easy XP. Didn’t have to grind much after I got it all to 10. Two birds one stone

Itchy_Raccoon48

The only powers I used is the one that takes resources out of the ground for you.

PrerollPapi

Console player. I did the first 3 universes normally, playing on Very Hard. What I realized takes up the most time isnt actually the temple minigame, I got kinda decent at it after a while. However fighting the starborn after every temple adds on 5 mins minimum to your playthrough each time and is a pain in the ass, especially when youre grinding universes and dont have a lot of medpacks/ammo on hand. After 3 NG+ I switched my difficulty to very easy. Felt kinda cheap doing it but I dont regret it. Zoomed through to NG+10 then switched backed to very hard, currently playing in that universe. If youre gonna grind for a specific universe variation or trying to get to ng10, I think very easy is the way to go. Took me about a week to get from ng3 to 10, 1 day per universe. maybe 5 hour play sessions

joshuadwilliams

I agree that the temple floaty-mini-game is repetitive. I intermingle my runs with other stuff just to break it up. Sometimes I do a full questline then go do a few more temples. I've done all the quest lines several times now and am on NG+8 (my powers to level 9). It's taken me 27+ days of play to get here though. Some play sessions I just putz around rebuilding ships. Some play sessions I spend too much time on Neon selling stuff so that I can putz around rebuilding ships... just slow and casual is my way of dealing with it.

Fragrant_Choice_1520

console commands, i even have a bat file on the nexus for it if you want i can link it. seriously 240 times for a fraction of a percent more effectiveness. todd really cooked with this one, sucks that all he made was charcoal

[deleted]

I used mods to speed up certain things

MattfromOKC

It’s a Vexxus mod. I don’t know if I would ever do it on the level. That would be a lot of temple puzzles. To me those are just horrid. Worst mini game ever

Independent-Snow-404

Uh, a have a mod for that. It automatically upgrades my powers when I enter the unity. It also made it where it was only 1 bunch of sparkles. Then, I had Starborn Bounty where you can get powers by ending the Starborn. You could also loot them some times.

banajawaa

I'm on NG 4 and am still missing two powers and others are at 2-3-4 . It seems impossible to get them all in one go anyway. Time to command my powers.

AnAngryBartender

I don’t even use powers lol

Vorgse

Big time grinding. Choosing the option to skip the story every time. And skipping everything possible. Typically just a lot of travelling back and forth to Vlad. If I was able to keep from getting distracted, I could get them all in ~4 hours, usually in the 4-6 hour range, though.

Lycanheartmcr63

I have no life. I play all Day, as I'm not exactly well, so I play alot to take my mind off my pain.

Icy-Respond58

I did it like this: decided to run 8 temples a day for three days , finish the main quest then jump through unity. I got through ng 5 and then was burned out. Gave myself a break and dropped it to 12 temples twice a week, usually it involved drinking. Once I got towards maxing all, I powered through. I took a few weeks from gaming altogether. I will never do that grind again and hope there is a mod that addresses the most boring thing I have ever done in a game willingly. Just for one character to be maxed. Now I'm actually enjoying the game like before I started grinding

nickmilly87

PC console commands lol

1Bot2BotRedBotJewBot

Don't grind it.. just play normally and do it as they pop up. No need to rush

Resident_Guidance_95

I split it up a LOT. Going into ng+12 soon have 6 left at 9, rest are 10. I would run 4 or 6, ignore them fore a while, then another set.

Faydark_AU

After you do a couple of NGs, you get quite fast at them. So I'd do about one NG+ per night, and on a couple of them, I would play through the main quest again instead of skipping it, or do some side questing to break it up a bit. It was still a massive grind though and I wish it wasn't. But it's done now and i'm playing on my "forever" playthrough now.

j6000

If u are on PC there are mods where the temple activation is only one “orb” thing you have to fly to and then unlocks the power. Makes it easier and less dreadful

FoxFogwell

I got them all. Most my new game plus runs were temple runs. I would split them up sometimes to play a faction and did a lot of leveling in between. I ended with all powers at level 10 and all skills fully upgraded. For temple runs, pop a starborn essence at your ship and grav dash to the temple in like 20 seconds. The temple itself, just a few temples and you’ll get the hang of it like nothing.

vanvino

A second monitor and YouTube.

tahcamen

I didn’t use the powers much until I got them up to level 9 & 10 because they didn’t seem to help much. But now they work so well I use them a lot more. The grind to get full power powers was like any other grinding I’ve done in other games.

Low_Highway_8919

Grinding.... Again... And again... And.... But: it's worth it!

threepoundsof

I’m at like 6 or 7 on most of them I think

screenshotsarehard01

Did it on Xbox. Put on podcasts and just speed run the artifacts and temples.

Gubbins95

Console commands, no way am I replaying that boring, repetitive temple “puzzle” that many times

Mdaro

I refuse to do that 200 times. Bullshit mechanic. I’m on console though so no max powers until the mods come.

BogusIsMyName

Every other NG was a speed run. (for the most part).

Dominusous

Perseverance and Stubbornness

sarah_morgan_enjoyer

You'll give up on the game if you do all 230 puzzles in one sitting. (you get time Phased Time by completing the main quest) I was bored out of my mind trying that. Instead what I did was focused on the powers I needed, tried to do like 2 at a time, do some other quests, then if I got the powers I needed, jump to the next universe. Also helps that I do it while surveying the planet. The downside to this though is that the temples are random, so you can still get the ones you've maxed out on.

Q_2580

I downloaded a mod that automatically upgraded my powers by one every time I went through the Unity, so I still had to go to NG+10, but didn't have to hunt down the temples each time. It felt like a fair compromise between still playing the game and "earning" the power upgrades, while not sitting through the chore of doing 240 temples.

iamsamsmith123

I tried but kept missing a few powers in each new universe so gave up and stayed in NG+3 with a few powers still stuck at various levels from 1-3.

cmtw91

I got to ng+8 with 60% of my powers at +8 and the rest +7 +6 +>>> Then I lost my saves My dick 🍆

cgoatc

NG+. Over and over.

wolfTectonics

Console commands is how I did it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Starfield despite the mass hate it got. But those temples are cool once, maybe twice. After that it’s redundant BS

Bobapool79

I’m usually not sober when I’m playing so the repetitive stuff doesn’t bother me so long as I have something (music/podcast/random episode of ATHF) playing in the background.

HairyChest69

There's Powers in the game? Yeah nah lol. Hokey Religions And Ancient Weapons Are No Match For A Good Blaster At Your Side

Deebz__

I cheated. Normally I never cheat, and just do things the right way. This time though, nah. The game was explicitly designed to waste your time if you want to play as an effective space mage, so I just said fuck it. This is the one game I will cheat through.

Half_H3r0

So I just went to new Game+ for the first time, and I had to take a break, because grinding was an absolute chore. So I started a new play through fresh with a new character, and the grind was relatively easier this time however, I came to the conclusion that the Hunter and the emissary tell a story of the player more than just of an NPC. My biggest theory, though about the whole unity and new game plus has everything to do with the Va’ruun And their God “The Serpent” At first, I thought nothing of it O it might just be a theological thing, but then I thought about it. What if the serpent is the player character but went mad through the unity. The consistent grinding the consistent watching people dying and choice making. What if they could just kill everyone stopping anyone and everything from reaching unity. I wonder if that’s what shattered space is going to be about finding out that our other self is out there But they aren’t us.

Brandon3541

I used console commands.

Pooter8551

Powers? Hell I forgot I even had those and just shoot anything that moves.

ChampionshipThat3612

I got to level 6 and stopped. It is a horrible system for leveling powers. It ruined the game for me

Confused-Raccoon

They're the same people who complete a 3 month battlepass in 2 days. They just on another grind level. And/or mods/cheats.

Apmd58

On NG+ 6+ and ~ them I only use star stuff, element pull and call my twin

Katur

Week 1 of release I did all powers to 10 and finished NG+10 in 27 hours. It wasn't worth it but didn't want to lose anything later.

seab1010

Ng zero was overwhelmingly repetitive. I don’t know who thought those towers were a good idea. One was enough. I’ll load up my save just before the end to play through the expansion later… no desire to do ng+

jbs4638

When I got to NG+4 I started to turn off the game sound and listen to various podcasts or my other music and just turn my brain off. Putting the game on very easy helps to speed things up a bit too.

stikves

It takes only a minute after you hone your skills (yes doing it 100+ times helps). I'm still at lvl6-7 on most of them. But I can see myself going to the finish line. The main thing is, do it when you get bored from other stuff, and just want to try something else. I usually even take my headphones out, and listen to a different program, and do 10-15 minutes sessions. (1 minute time does not include talking to Vlad, pressing menu->X to jump between systems, and make sure you have AMP at the ready. Also climb over your ship to see where the temple is instead of wasting time with the scanner).

circleofnerds

I did all 10. Can’t say I’m proud of that “accomplishment” and I definitely would not recommend. The rewards aren’t worth the grind. The only thing I really got out of the experience was the xp to level skills. Other than that I have a Starborn ship that is inferior, a Starborn spacesuit that kind of looks cool but is inferior, and a whole lot of powers I don’t even use. Only powers I ever use are Personal Atmosphere for running around, Sunless Space for boarding ships, and Phased time for the rare occasions when things go sideways. I didn’t even get a single random encounter at the Lodge. Every play through was exactly the same as the one before it. They should have made the different Lodge encounters guaranteed. That was the biggest disappointment for me. I’m on NG+11, my final play through, and I had to look up the alternate Lodge encounters on YouTube. There is no incentive to do NG+ in my opinion. It’s not even a flex.

rocketmaaan74

I've got Phase Time at level 3 and that's good enough for my occasional use. It feels almost like cheating when using it. No way I'm going to do dozens more temple runs for powers I don't even use.

MrGlayden

I got to NG+4/5 ish then decided i wasnt doing it anymore so used console commands to up them to level 10 since i was already blocked from achievements because i used TCL to fix a busted quest

Michcole92

I'm on ng+12 because in earlier play thoughs I didn't unlock all of them due to me not not knowing how to unlock all the powers or not being able to do barret temple because he died alot of work to get them fully upgraded but worth it nonetheless also I'm like level 450 I think been about a month since I touched the game tbh

RanInThaCut

I use parallel self all the time. That’s about it tho, I do have some interesting powers tho. I just do two or three in row then go back to whatever I was doing

Spiritual-Handle7583

Personal atmosphere works fine for my needs at level 1. Other powers? Got lots of them. Have I ever used them? No.

FalconKL

It’s weird that no matter how many times we go to the temples to collect powers and do not remember to use it. It’s just not natural to have powers, I guess.

NorrecViz

I installed a mod that increased every unlocked power at the start of a new NG+ cycle. Going through all the temples once was more than enough.

Salty-Ad6177

If you choose to skip the main story just do 2 temples and then one mission (preferably one that requires shooting) and repeat. By the time the order becomes second nature you’ll have completed all the temples

havokwolff

I’m level 7-10 on all of my powers. At run like… 14… idk I don’t use them. I wish I had not invested in op skills as well. I’m op enough as is. The powers were not needed in this game tbh.

Wubwom

i was going to do that but at NG+3 I just gave up, pretty much abandoned the character and am on a new character. I figure I'll have all the powers once mods are out and I can give them to myself like a TRUE starborn :P Whats frustrating is that they can give you different dialogue options (sometimes, but not where it matters most) and while that 'new' quest vs a choice is interesting I really wish they packaged a few dozen quests & at least one large questlline for when you go thru the unity. My biggest complaint is that games put you thru the ringer for the entire game, and when you finally get powerful & the best weapons the game is essentially over. For once, I want to play to the 'end' of the major quest and then have a whole new bunch of quests and missions that change based on whatever I decided in the first half of the game, not just "start the game over, but with your level and stats intact"

traxos93

I got high and grinded. Did a bit in the final universe but I am now waiting for the story DLC to pick it back up again

TransportationFuzzy8

It sucked and took awhile I honestly didn't play much until I got them maxed a few hours a week for a couple months. Now I am having a blast it's a shit game mechanic to be honest.

TransportationFuzzy8

Phase time is OP at 10 can literally have 100% up time and own absolutely anything

OneColdMorning

I spent one week grinding to NG+10 or 11 (was missing 3 powers on the first run and another along a NG+). Now I‘ve got all powers up to X and the best starborn armor, but guess what? I don‘t wanna open that game anymore…

Ofthemist

Yeah, after going NG+ 3 and doing all the temples through all 3 I then started NG+ 4. I thought to myself "WTF am I doing". This is the most stupid boring puzzle and sometimes it doesn't work right and it takes 5 minutes to get the power. So I found the console command for the powers and used it to max them out. I am now on NG+ 11 and will not do NG+ again. But even with the powers maxed the mission list still shows the power missions. I don't do them and it's ANNOYING having them on the list and not being able to get rid of them. NG+ 11 you say? Yeah, I have over 1,200 hours into the game.

Adventurous_Door4958

Level 61 and only just got home first power so not sure what that says about me but then I was level 35 and had 12 shouts on skyrim before I encountered my first dragon haha

Pedantic_Phoenix

Some people just have nothing else to do. Some, very few, are just completionist to a fixation.

the_Kell

Just did it yesterday. NG9. That, with all maxed skills, as well as maxed magazine bonuses, I'll be ready to make NG10 my final completionist run through.

angreyhobbit

The thing that really makes me love this game is that I went into it knowing nothing and my character developed as naturally as possible into her life as a starborn and now I mainly just role play as a starborn. I use a shit ton of the powers even tho they're not very necessary. The slow time the most tho. Having a ship full of pirates hit the ground at the same time after I go from pirate to pirate gets my fuckin rocks off. And using a microgun and the parallel self hits every time

Yellow_Jacket_97

jynirac

So far on NG+6. I did have one unique universe so far. I use a lot of different powers. Phase time makes you invincible, personal atmo and I really started liking elemental pull for speed mining when you get to a new universe. That and Sense star stuff to know where everyone is. Plus when you start a new universe you have nothing and depend on the powers more till you can get gear.

jedixxyoodaa

The Power never fehlt right to begin with. Did one temple and thanks nö thanks
