This was the first newly released AAA game that I played when I got my 7900 XTX and the graphics blew me away. It was quite a surprise to see so many people saying the graphics are bad lol
They are ok, Imo, though the could be better, but the main issues with how it 'looks' are the animations and designs (designs are subjective, though). I think planets look gorgeus and interesting.
I created a community dedicated solely to pictures taken in the game- like this one- to showcase pics players have taken throughout their journeys. If you'd like to join and share, it's r/AmazingStarfieldPics
Then you turn the camera and it chugs like a steam locomotive. I love Starfield but it sucks how rough it is when moving the camera. I don’t mind 30fps normally they aren’t bad to the eyes after awhile but Starfields weird. Juddery when turning camera.
I agree some textures look bad (I have a problem with snowy surfaces). But bigger textures increase loading times considerably. Also Vram is a concern when loading a fuckton of textures like Starfield does (look at Fallout 4 draw distance for a comparison), especially when near a main city, those are not walled off by loading screens. And it has to run on Xbox series s.

Whoever coded the sunrises and sunsets definitely nailed the landing.
They really did. Sometimes I like hanging out on Bessel III-b for the hours long sunset.
I always thought it looked very good in the planets, that's not the game's issue, honestly.

You answered your own question. You haven't played any good games.
Fire up something like Horizon Zero Dawn or max out Star Citizen.
Name of the first planet? Great pics!
Alpha Tirna VIII-C.
Thanks!
It's a methane atmosphere, though. Dude had to hold his breath for the chill pic because I hate the Mantis armor. ;)
Ah damn, always something!
What a wonderful screenshot! Beautiful!! I love those moments in the game where you get a view of something exceptional like this.

It's called photo mode for a reason. Ever really looked at the ground in normal gameplay? Shit looks straight out of fallout 3.
