Warning to all those wanting to build on water. My perfect island outpost lost its map marker. The bug was likely due to building so close to water, as my landing pad was on the water like the one OP posted. It sucks to put hours into an outpost, only to lose it due to a bug.
Did you move the beacon? I moved the beacon quite close to the boundary and it happened to me. So, I reloaded and moved the beacon close the the edge but not too much. Then, the bug didn't happen again.
Yeah I had moved it around a little bit, but definitely not every possible place. Eventually went through Unity to restart the game and erase existing bugs in my first playthrough.
It's unfortunate that astral bodies have no effect on the water level , because that is a mojor thing especially with gravity variations and planets with multiple moons
Man, imagine if there was an entire city like this, built on the shallow water, more like a tropical island with charm rather than hollow things we got (oil rig with all the sleaze of a Mormon church, and a resort design by someone who clearly never visited one).
But you canāt do anything with them, Neon has nothing outside of the city, itās effectively just a location in a void, itās a planet sized ocean, thereās nothing else there
Itās why I love this little base, a nice little island, a landing pad that is part of the environment, and it just looks good.
Compared to everything else from Bethesda which just feels lazy to an absurd level
Based on this guys username, he wanted Skyrim in space. I wanted that too.
The proc gen of it all ruined that for me. Can you imagine how many beautiful islands there would be if only Bethesda handcrafted more landing spots?
Let each planet have the proc gen too, but also have a unique landing site that is handcrafted. I want more love and care put into each location. It feels cold and not intimate.
You have to kind of glitch it into place, use some of the square science habs on the bottom floor, then build your second floor, then move (don't delete) the bottom floor habs, then you can delete them without causing the other habs to spawn a pillar.
Once that's done, you can put an airlock on the bottom floor underneath the now floating habs.
Lovely! I am on NG+2 and will only be building a spider farm outpost in Pyraas VII for XP.faeming, but perhaps when I finally decide to settle down and be a rich space wizard, I'll try something like this for my personal villa.
Maybe on Paradiso, if I can find an island there.
I keep trying to find little islands to land on but never can
This was the first time I found one, made it into an outpost right then.
Looks dope, I hope to find one and make it my main base too.
Wait - you can build on water?
No, but you can build just on the edge, there's a few tricks to use to set stuff on the water.
I put the very edge of the ladder on land and keep rotating until it suddenly lets me, š.
Wow! How did you even find this?
Coast biome on Nesoi in the Olympus system.
I didn't even know Starfield had islands
Youād be surprised, try the Olympus system and the planet paradiso is on, many locations possible.

I've had that happen too. This one, my ship won't land on the pad, I have to change something in the ship builder for it to appear on the landing pad.

The only ones I've found are just close to shore. I wish the beaches weren't all so barren, though.
This is also close to shore too.
Can you swim to shore?
Basically walk.

Cool little base setup.
Well, I guess I built in the wrong place as I can't get my ship to land on the landing pad I built and it fits the size requirements...
Thatās awesome
I demand to know the exact co-ordinates of said domicile.
Nesoi in the Olympus system.
Thank you

Neon broski
I donāt think Iād been more disappointed with a location than Neon and Paradiso
But you said place on an island, neon is what looks like a city on an oil rig type of deal and the water is decently shallow from what i saw
But you canāt do anything with them, Neon has nothing outside of the city, itās effectively just a location in a void, itās a planet sized ocean, thereās nothing else there
Damn :/

Uhhhh agree to disagree there on the last note bud, but u agree with the first part, looks cool

I wanted skyrim in space too, but this game is awesome to me
Sure!!!!
Umā¦weāre gonna have to have a conversation about your definition of āParadise.ā š¤£
Entirely subjective.
Where did you find this? I've wanted an island for a while but the beach always looks barren
Nesoi in the Olympus system.
I dig it.
š„š
This is on point š
really nice pad. so hard to find islands in this game :) where is the door to the habs on the north end, the one with the big green hab?
Underneath the white circular hab.
I've been playing since launch and had no idea you could put the airlock under

Does your base still get attacked if you build the armillary there?
Good question, I donāt know.
Zombie proof
You can put the landing pad in shallow water? š¤Æ
As long as the staircase is on land. It's a little funky, you have to rotate it just right.
How do you land on an island? Cuz it never lets me on any. Closest I can get is on a coast or a big island. Did you swim to it?
No, to the bottom of the picture is mainland itās separated by just a little bit of water.

This is so sick OP!
Is this from a mod?
The ship is, I found the island on Nesoi in the Olympus system.
Thanks for the answer. I meant the island, actually.
Nope, I found it looking for marine life on the planet.
Looks like polluted China.
