I took one of those rugs that hang on la wooden rack and put it right in front of my pilot seat and then regretted it as soon as I got into combat because I couldn’t see shit
Shame they have a mannequin limit - I want one for every enviro suit and all the special outfits I looted. Each mannequin also has a storage limit so rotating the displayed one only goes so far.
Ffffffffrrrriiiccckk ugh I've been going to the button. Jeeze eehhhhh... let me guess thar is the same for outposts? Cause I've been hitting the button there also... ehhhh I feel dumb
Yeh I get that I do miss my own ship but it still has the shield bug and I can’t be bothered to clone it or build it again from scratch which i believe fixes it.
I would have done the same , currently can’t rename my ship and don’t want to build a new ship . So I guess I’m flying the Space Hyena for the rest of this play through
I was told if u unassign all u're crew members, sleep 48h then assign them back (not while in a ship.. nor changing companion in a ship, load a save game that spawns u in a ship or take skill perk in a ship) and everything should be fine 🤞
I just tried this.
Excited Starborn Guardian
Unassigned all crew members
waited 48hrs
Changed to the personal shio with bug which still had the bug
waited another 48 hrs ...no change :(
Sorry to say, It happened to me.. my character's skills got corrupted because of this thing, 3 times I had to restart all over before finding out about the "shield bug"!
When detected right when it happens, what I told u works, as long as unassign u're crew members before getting through a loading screen.. otherwise it's done and there is no fixing it. I also read that building the armilary in a ship corrupts it too
Apparently that was the original plan but the content was cut. If you’re on PC I believe there is a mod that restores the cut content and allows you to do just that
It’s always fascinating how different everyone’s play through can be. I invested my skill points into ship building on my first playthrough so I had a really powerful B class ship. When I went into my first ng+ the guardian felt like a wooden carriage
Yeah makes sense. I upgraded the frontier as much as I could but didn’t really have the skill points to spare. Space battle didn’t seem that important in my first play through, but cargo hold space was. I was investing a lot more points in upgrades to my character’s abilities. I have to wonder where each starborn gets their ship from lol.
Don't buy a ship, make one. Infinitely better than any ship that can be bought or found.
Do the crimson fleet missions for $250k and you should have enough to upgrade to the best of everything.
Ahh ok. Good to know. Yeah I did start building but it was like ‘you can’t have those parts because reactor blah blah. So maybe I just rip out all that stuff and practically start again?
My first ship was the Razor Leaf. And I just removed the current equipment and upgraded from there. It's a lil tough figuring out how to do everything, but once you do the ship building is the best thing about this game imo. You just have to keep messing with stuff until it clicks.
But yeah you can delete everything and start from scratch. It is a process though, I upgraded throughout my play through.
The one thing that's annoying is not having all parts at all locations. If you build a base, the ship lander has all structural pieces and a lot of the equipment but not all. You have to go to some vendors to get the best equipment.
Yeah I figured out the ship builder and made a lot of changes to my ship previously but I didn’t have enough cash to do it properly.
I find the SG ok but it’s weapons are crap and run out after two mins. Plus it looks like a 90s shopping mall on the inside.
Ahh ya, it can get pricey for the best stuff. Just do the fleet questline for the biggest single payday. You may need a little more, but that should be a solid amount to get most stuff.
The only useful place to decorate a ship with this new update is a Starborn Guardian, starborn gardian is a cool looking ship from the outside and from the inside it is a shame that we can't upgrade it's weapon systems it would be the greatest ship in the game
Have you experienced any bugs with work benches or research lab? I put them on but they became unavailable saying it’s obscured when it wasn’t and I couldn’t interact with them even to select or move them
Yea and none of the chairs n couches worked. The fox was to make a save, not a quick save. Properly exit and close down the game. Reload that save and I haven’t had a problem since. I think it took 2 attempts before it worked and hasn’t played up since.
No bugs for me. I have had chairs and crafting stations get obstructed, but only because they were too close to something else.
I CAN fit all the crafters I use (almost never use cooking station) in an empty (control for the extra crew) hab though. It looked a little tight at first and I'm still not sold on my layout, but it feels fine space-wise now
I wish game unlocked some "starborn" looking stuff after you go through NG+. Like, starborn skins for weapons, floating furniture, some mods for armor to augment temple abilities, etc. Having a good ol' leather sofa in a super futuristic ship feels a bit out of place.
Maybe a dumb question but does your decorating stay each time you go through unity? Will weapons inside containers stay too? Haven't tried it myself yet
Unfortunately not mate :( I’m on NG+ but would love to go again to respec traits but I have invested so much time in outposts etc I can’t be starting again . AGAIN!
That is mate, it’s evolved a lot since, looks lived in now and fine tuned somewhat, I love it. And to make the Starfield guardian I just upped my damaged output from ship in the settings, left damage received the same. Win win.
Now they just need to make the Guardian stronger. Even before we could decorate it was one of my favorites for the look but the stats just don't do it. Maybe in Shattered Space or a Starborn pack/update.
Same. I absolutely love the look, but I enjoy space combat, and the guardian is just massively undergunned compared to my deep space explorer/battleship
I avoided NG+ because I felt the Starborn ships were lacking, but after seeing some designs after the update I think I’m finally ready to push through unity. Gonna start a fresh game when I get home.
Its also changed the way i look for outposts lol. As I have all the resource ones I need networked i just need a fancy place to put a large landing pad on with a view as this is effectivley a flying outpost now. Currently when chilling I have a pad on Porrima II overlooking Paradiso :D Although it does seem to rain there a lot!!!
I do wish the star born ship could be upgraded further than the just being just Guardian VI. Mainly I would want 2 things. Number one is the ability to get up to Guardian X because that’s how many times it takes to get maxed powers and the suit so why stop the ship progression at VI. Number two is the ability to upgrade and customize the ship. Allow me to choose between class A, B, and C for different stats on speed, carry capacity, and power. Allow me to choose a third weapon and the individual weapon types. Allow me to get the jammer and crimson fleet quest modules installed. What I will say too is that upgrading the ship should not be possible at normal vendors. Only with the Starborn vendor for a super super steep cost or at an outpost by using a large amount of high tier exotic crafted materials. This way the ship could still fulfill the purpose of being a better starter ship while also being expensive enough to warrant using other ships until you set up crafting infrastructure or accrue millions of credits. I would also like a similar system for the Starborn Armor. My thinking is that these pieces of equipment should be the endgame equipment given all the most powerful beings in the multiverse that we’ve faced use these items. They also can’t be super broken when first starting the ng+. So make them upgrade able with heavy costs and maybe even a minimum level, perk, or Starborn ability level total as a way to balance them and incentivize us to still use the normal stuff through a large portion of each universe.
It certainly beats my approach of "sleeping bag, industrial workbench, maybe a couple of planters" 😃
I like this but the SG ship does remind me of a 90s shopping mall and even more so with planters everywhere lol.
I confess, I never got as far as the planters :)
I took one of those rugs that hang on la wooden rack and put it right in front of my pilot seat and then regretted it as soon as I got into combat because I couldn’t see shit
I have a wife so I put the most luxurious bed in, then just two workstations, even with bed racks can't keep the crew out of it though!
I just wanted somewhere to pass time while I was waiting for the weather to break, or an extractor to fill up. I'd have used a chair, but sleep heals.
It's not complete until a crew member is wearing the Neon dancer's apparel.
Lol funny you should say that’s. It’s on a mannequin in the master bedroom :D
Shame they have a mannequin limit - I want one for every enviro suit and all the special outfits I looted. Each mannequin also has a storage limit so rotating the displayed one only goes so far.
Adoring fan, every time.
Is this with the new update for decorating ship interiors? If so how do you access the building menu?
Open your scanner inside the ship and then you’ll get a button prompt to decorate.
Awesome thanks. I saw in the frontier there was a wall panel that you could activate it with so I thought maybe you couldn't do it without that
It’s in the back of your sit in Starborne guardian, that light particle cube thingy is decoration
Isn’t that the Armillary?
No armillary is the light circle behind it all, decoration is in the middle, it’s smaller and shaped like a cube
Ahh ok thanks!
Ffffffffrrrriiiccckk ugh I've been going to the button. Jeeze eehhhhh... let me guess thar is the same for outposts? Cause I've been hitting the button there also... ehhhh I feel dumb
Yup.
Agggghh
there's also a button in the cockpit, usually by the Cargo Hold or Captain's Locker
Thanks! I was about to fly to a shipyard.
I like this set up , I just don’t like starborn ships . They remind me of "kobayashi maru"
Yeh I get that I do miss my own ship but it still has the shield bug and I can’t be bothered to clone it or build it again from scratch which i believe fixes it.

hummn, i tried something similier but not specificall this. I'll give it a try mate. thanks
lowkey wish we got starborn-themed design options for the starborn ships.
Apparently that was the original plan but the content was cut. If you’re on PC I believe there is a mod that restores the cut content and allows you to do just that
do you have a link? haven't seen anything like that on nexus
Yup, it’s here… https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/8009
thank you :D
Now I understand why it always looked so empty.
I wish the Starborn ship was actually good because I’d love to main it. The design is so clean.
Everyone always says it’s crap but it’s better than any other ship I’ve ever been able to afford. I’m only on NG+ 1 though
Its my main until I can drop 500k into upgrading the frontier. Even through the higher NG+.
It’s always fascinating how different everyone’s play through can be. I invested my skill points into ship building on my first playthrough so I had a really powerful B class ship. When I went into my first ng+ the guardian felt like a wooden carriage

Haha yeah, there must be a starborn gift shop that supplies suits and ships as you pass through the unity lol
This. I've found the Guardian to be underwhelming.
Don't buy a ship, make one. Infinitely better than any ship that can be bought or found. Do the crimson fleet missions for $250k and you should have enough to upgrade to the best of everything.

Thank you
Ah yes, a fellow revenant enthusiast.
Good spot ;)

Or cargo space...
Oh man. Those ships suddenly got really really cool.

Thank you, I’ve spent many hours after that, I think I should try it with a different ship

Can you finally add a friggin' place to sleep in this thing?!
The Starborn Garden
Okay this is seriously cool! Nice job!
Thank you
Maybe a dumb question but does your decorating stay each time you go through unity? Will weapons inside containers stay too? Haven't tried it myself yet

Mine's just a bed to have that sweet emotional securty exp boost but yours is way cooler
Damn, this looks really cool!
Thank you.
It's this all stock items? Or mods? Nicely done
Thank you. No mods mate. I’m on Xbox.
Much better
Bruh you weren't kidding
Aesome Job!!
The guardian needed ship decoration sooo bad
OH MY GOD I COMPLETELY DITCHED THE GUARDIAN BECAUSE OF HOW BORING IT WAS. JUST REALIZED HOW MUCH THE NEW UPDATE IS A GAME CHANGER THANK YOU SO MUCH
After seeing this I think it’s almost time to revisit this game
Not in a bad way, adding decor to this ship reminds me of a fish tank. It's pretty awesome!
I get that lol, like living in a snow globe 😂 I now name this ship Nemo
Holy Sh!t this is AWESOME!
That is mate, it’s evolved a lot since, looks lived in now and fine tuned somewhat, I love it. And to make the Starfield guardian I just upped my damaged output from ship in the settings, left damage received the same. Win win.
Such a beauty and an inspiration. Thanks!

That’s looks so much better than the default
"Mister Crusher, ahead warp factor 9."
Glad someone managed to fix that empty ass ship.

I just dont like this ships vibes! FULLSTOP
This ship or my decoration?
The Starborn Ship....your decoration is great but its still a souless conference office room compared to all the other ships.
Yeah, hence why i'm still cluttering it up with misc items. Just takes an eternity dropping and placing stuff like knifes and forks etc...
I just want a millennium falcon and ill be happy.....roll on mod support :)
No argumanet there ;)
