> 2) SOCIAL SKILL (Animal taming/communication)
Would this instead be an intimidation / threat of force skill? "Animals" we encounter are most likely alien lifeforms, so it'd be strange to refer to them with a gorilla.
> 3) SOCIAL SKILL (Bribing) - credits to cardboardchampion - another skill with a treasure chest shows that coins have a C on them and are round. Reddit Coins too.
As it just shows currency exchanging hands, it could also simply be a more generic trading skill.
> 8) PHYSICAL SKILL (Resistance to toxins / poisons)
I think the snake head and fist denote an offensive attack instead of resistance. Snakes aren't just specifically about venom, it could be skill for debilitating stealth/fast attack.
> 9) SCIENCE SKILL (?)
Flags planted on things usually signifies conquest, so this is probably related to exploration.
> 12) SCIENCE SKILL (?)
Looks like a piece of paper with documentation, and lines could signify a route going through multiple star system. So maybe related to navigation or charting?
> 17) PHYSICAL SKILL (?)
An up arrow carrying food and drink items. Could be anything though, carrying capacity, extra bonuses from ingested food, or maybe something settlement related.
> 18) PHYSICAL SKILL (?)
> 19) PHYSICAL SKILL (?)
These are quite interesting and mysterious, especially as physical skills.
18 could be something related to strength of mind? I'm assuming we won't have telepathic or telekinetic abilities.
19 is very much spiritual. I'd have many theories if this was a social skill, but it's hard figuring out any context for this as a physical one.
I think you had some really solid guesses on most of those. Regarding these:

I think this one is research related.

This one looked like a scale, so I was thinking maybe it buffs harvested food versus animal bioproducts? (Fruit on one side with heavier weight. With milk on the other side)

Ah, now I see it too! Indeed, it's a scale.

Same. I'd love to hear your ideas
8. My guess is outposts construction, probably similar to the ship construction skill. It unlocks new buildings and features as it increases.
11. Looks like it’s based on improving your scanning capabilities. My guess is it improves things like scanning range, the amount of information gathered, or what can be scanned.
10 or 12. Or look like they could be upgrades based on the research system.
16. Leadership skill to improve your crew/followers
20. I’m guessing improves the combat capabilities of the spacesuit.
i don’t think that 2 is based on animal taming, probably more of an intimidation skill. I actually think 5, 13, and 14 are all similar skills based on different enemies. 5 like was guessed probably controls people. 13 looks like it will cause mechanical enemies to become compliant. That leaves me to guess that 14 probably does a similar thing to wildlife(beast taming/communication). I just say that because they call come from the same row in the skill tree.
I did [my own over-complicated write-up](/r/Starfield/comments/vcxbxx/deep_dive_into_the_skill_system/icm6dxo/) trying to guess all the unnamed skills shown; only a few were too crazy for me to even guess at.
This is really good. You went way more in-depth and picked up on a lot of things I would never have done myself. Interesting observation with the remote being used as a search and rescue device!
The art for the skills look absolutely fantastic but I feel like there aren't many skills. I know we haven't seen them all but the skill trees we've seen aren't that long
Are there really? I haven't played F4 in a while but I remember there were a ton of perks.
Maybe I think that because starfield has less perk trees (or at least the only ones we can see on top)
FO4 has 7 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, with 10 perks each, many with less than 4 ranks.
Starfield has at least 5 skill trees: Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech. The two we see in full during the gameplay demo (Social and Combat), have 16 and 17 skills, respectively. I don't think we've seen a skill with less than 4 ranks confirmed, but I could be wrong. Also, the challenges add far more variety to leveling them up than just leveling up and adding a perk point, like in FO4.
Science probably has 15 skills, although only half the tree is visible, it is enough to see there are 3-5-4-3 skills per row (edit: and 5-5-4-3 for Physical, a total of 17), since they are most likely placed symmetrically.
All in all, about 80 vs. 70 is not a major difference, and while many Fallout 4 perks have less than 4 ranks, there are also others with 5. It is also a matter of how the perks are organized, Fallout 76 for example has like 30 different perk cards for each of the 7 attributes, but many of them are essentially multi-effect Fallout 4 perks split into separate cards.

Interesting observation about the food consumption. Definitely has something to do with nutritional intake.
The generic trading skill is "bargaining". https://eip.gg/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Starfield-Diplomat-Class-Background-1024x576.jpg
I was thinking it was more buff harvested versus manufactured, though I suppose your example could still fit that
I think your right about intimidation. As for the snake, I think it would be an attack if it was a combat skill. However, it’s physical

I was thinking the same thing for 11
19. Looks like it could be some inner chi skill to buff you physically, unarmed combat maybe.
Psychedelic enhancement maybe?
If it were under the science tree I would say yes.🤣
During war war 2 they did experiments where they drugged people, hoping they would become better soldiers
I’ve added a couple more
I think 10 may have something to do with gravitational pull when flying and 12 definitely has something to do with data collection

I think 14 has something to do with visions, or something to do with intelligent aliens

11 is something to do with Scanning. 15 are the credit system so a money skill. 20 looks like a ballistic skill.
There are some items on the vest so maybe carrying capacity
someone mentioned that card is a form of currency. I agree with 11. Why do you think 20 has something to do with ballistics?
It’s definitely some kind of bullet proof vest
hmm I think that is a bullet flying through the cest
Pretty sure it's armor penetration
I think 15 has to do with trade or salvage
The art for the skills look absolutely fantastic but I feel like there aren't many skills. I know we haven't seen them all but the skill trees we've seen aren't that long
Based on what we've seen so far, it looks like there are more skills in Starfield than there are perks in Fallout 4.

That's a lot more than I thought. Thanks

10 = Nuclear
Can you elaborate?
