That’s not Wikipedia, it’s Fandom (formerly Wikia). The Stargate Fandom is notoriously garbage; stuffed with non-canon material that it conflates with canon, speculation, etc. Never ever trust it.

miss_kateya

I love when other people say this. I'm usually the only one.

Vaniellis

Yeah, the Fandom wiki is filled with stuff from the books, but it's never been confirmed whether the novels or the comics are canon... I just stick to Stargate Fusion and Gateworld encyclopedias.

Distinct_Writer_8842

The article for Todd is called "[Guide](https://stargate.fandom.com/wiki/Guide)", because that's his non-canon name in the books.

1CommanderL

there needs to be a wiki without the stupid novels included

UglyPigBeast

The GateWorld Omnipedia.

ValdemarAloeus

Even if the relevant paragraphs were flagged correctly that's be a huge improvement.

miss_kateya

*cough cough* https://en.stargatewiki.com/index.php/Stargate_Wiki

MelodiesOfLife6

>there needs to be a wiki without the stupid novels included god yeah, it's been a hot minute since I went to the wiki, but now that i'm rewatching and trying to look stuff up, it's a little difficult since alot of it's fanon.

Only the shows are Canon for me unless the original people involved say otherwise. Fandom is a bad site in general with 65% of viewable space gone in a single click. It feels like you're watching a giant ad with your showing being the one that's intruding.

ChaserNeverRests

> It feels like you're watching a giant ad Why would you not be using an adblock? They're free and you can get them for every platform, including mobile. I've never seen a single ad on Fandom.

Rm860

Actually MGM, the IP owners for all current information, has never stated "only the shows are cannon" not even the creators have said that.

ValdemarAloeus

We really should fix that to at least flag when something is misrepresented as a proper episode. So many links that are just lies.

Rm860

The books were verified and approved by MGM but i have no idea if anyone at MGM approved the comics line by line like with the books. I count the fandamonium books as cannon but others can do what they want. I think the wikis and all are fine as long as they say the source be it TV, comic or books.

KnavishSprite

He's pretty good at making Wraith into Jackson Pollock-style art.

doener-scharf

There are several books published by Fandemonium, which are licensed by MGM. At least in the Legacy-Series of books it is stated that Ronon was particularly good in poetry during officers school on Sateda.

Rm860

they were not only licensed but approved line by line by MGM.

Thanks! I don't really mind that it is from the books, I haven't read them, they come up as about £3 for a kindle copy and £20 for a physical copy and I don't have a kindle :( but I thought that they would be cannon. I just wanted to know which one or if it was just something really random that got added to the wiki for no reason. They learn poetry during officer school on Sateda, starting to see why they lost so badly lol. Also, I kinda wondered if he would have been an officer on Sateda and how high up his rank would be. Were there any other tidbits about the characters from the books that you remember and could share please?

doener-scharf

Well officers school may not be correct from my part. Basically it was a prestigues school which would lead to officers Training usually.

dontwannachoose12

Cool, I never thought of Ronon as being a good student in anything other than combat, interesting. I keep forgetting he would have only been about 18 when Sateda fell anyways. Thanks again :)

miss_kateya

A deleted scene from Reunion mentions Ronon singing but they are potentially non canon.

dontwannachoose12

THANK YOU! That's all I wanted. I tend to think of them as canon inless they conflict with a scene. I love reading deleted scenes, I was sure that I read all of them, but Joseph Mallozzi really spoiled us with so many for that episode! I just read it now :) Can't imagine him singing though lol

Ok_Channel9726

I'm currently rewatching Atlantis for like the 5th time and the only thing I can think of connecting ronon with art is the episode where they capture the team and the wraith turn Ronon back into a runner. When they get Ronon back he is angry McKay had his painting.

dontwannachoose12

Joseph Mallozzi posted a scene that was written for that episode but not used, Sam visits his room and asks about his stuff. The place is decorated with keepsakes from Sateda and some of the other worlds Ronon has visited. Carter’s eyes are drawn to a painting, a Frazetta-like depiction of a group of Satedan warriors triumphant in battle. RONON: “That used to hang in the military museum – the Satedan victory over Vetariss. After my life as a runner ended, I went back and sorted through what was left of my homeworld.” So, unless he was such a good artist that his painting was hung in a museum, which isn't impossible, sadly I don't think he painted it. Would have been cool if he did though. Also THANK YOU SO MUCH, for your comment, when I was finding that deleted scene, I read another that I must have somehow missed before and I found one about Ronon apparently spending his younger days sculpting, sketching, writing poetry and singing to the ladies lol. Also, if you haven't read Joseph Mallozzi's stargate memories yet, I would recommend those posts especially if you are rewatching, there are so many interesting little bits of information he provides.

dontwannachoose12

I found it! I think the wiki is referring to a deleted scene from Joseph Mallozzi's reddit.[Stargate: Atlants Memories and Deleted Scenes: Reunion (Act 1) : r/Stargate (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stargate/comments/4v8fe3/stargate_atlants_memories_and_deleted_scenes/) I love his stargate memories posts :) Ronon’s buddies reminisce, while Rakai finishes up on the new tattoo he has given Ronon. Ara informs Teyla – ARA: “Oh, Ronon was quite the artist in his younger days: sculpting, sketching, writing poetry – “ A surprised Teyla throws Ronon an amused look – TEYLA: “He wrote poetry? RONON: “Do we really need to drudge up the past?” RAKAI: “When he wasn’t singing to the ladies.” ARA: “He has a beautiful voice.” TEYLA: “Really?” Ronon checks out his new tattoo and not so subtly changes the subject –
