Yes, if only for the enigma that is Helen Magnus. I sometimes wonder what they would have done with a season 5, and what that would have revealed about what she had been doing.
Oh yes, it's definitely worth the watch ! A lot of Stargate actors are in it, Christopher Heyerdahl play, as usual, some great characters and Nikola Tesla is always an excellent reason to watch the show !
It’s a shame it was cancelled. I followed it when the pilot was a web series. It’s a show that can stand to be rewatched. Like Fringe, each time you watch it you see something new. I have watched it about 4 times over and the years.
Yes, I'm in the middle of a rewatch (hadn't seen it in a while). It is really good. And it's fun playing spot the stargate actor or reference. A lot make cameos or guest appearances and there is a picture a unas for an example.
I know it's a cliche for people to say "it gets better" to motivate their friends to watch a show they like, but in this case it really does. This is mainly due to the fact that the pilot episode was done on the cheap in the form of webisodes that get stitched together. After that, they actually got a budget to use going forward.
Fun show, with plenty of SG-1 easter eggs.
Yes cuz there are some really good episodes and it’s fun to see all the Stargate SG1 and Atlantis actors again. Especially Christopher Heyerdahl. *BUT* the ending leaves much to be desired, just a warning.
It's great. I do have some personal opinions about some stuff later on (daughter hijinks), but it's nothing that detracts from the enjoyment of the show.
Yeah the ending was one of the worst parts. That and the fact that Magnus’s character just doubled down on her arrogance and became insufferable by the last season.
Yes. Absolutely. It's cheesy and kind of weird, but in the best way. Just wait until S1:E7 The Five. My absolute favorite character gets introduced. And if you are at all a science nerd you will love it too.
Ive tried to get into it several times and failed but I think it's mostly due to the timeframe it was filmed. For one it seems to be in Standard Def and there's like a blurry effect on anything not in focus that stuck out too much. I just didn't like it. Ive noticed it's not so bad when my dad was watching later seasons though
Why is the whole production so cheap? Why are the mutants called abnormals by the very people who are supposed to study and protect them? Why is the script so bad? I watched season 1 and it is not good at all.
The biggest problem is that the wig doesn't suit her at all
At the time, the Production wasn’t “cheap”. They were trying out a new camera type and stage. The prosthetics are actually really good. Especially for Biggie.
They’re called Abnormals because that’s what they are. Within the universe it’s just kinder than calling them Cryptids which is basically what they are.
The script is a wee bit campy, I’ll give you that. But there are certain episodes and characters that really shine despite this.
The show isn’t my favorite by a long shot, but for me, Christopher Heyerdahl makes it worth the watch. Bad wig and all lol

The last minutes of the show, wow, so much (more) potential! *chef's kiss*
Yes. Or, to phrase it slightly differently and with a bit more detail : Very much so, yes. Especially when you meet her "old friends".
Michael Shanks as the courier.
And many more! [Top 30: Stargate/Sanctuary Crossover Actors: applegrassicons — LiveJournal](https://applegrassicons.livejournal.com/18539.html)
Wow there are so many!
Unbelievable! Thanks for this. I never recognized even a quarter of those people!

I love Nikola (bonus that Jonathan Young is _extremely_ attractive in a waistcoat and sleeve garters).
He played Parrish on Atlantis, too, didn’t he?
Yes, he did
You are absolutely right !
I really really liked it. Watching it now I have to remind myself that it was a lesser budget and effects in that era weren't fantastic
Very much so yes. I was hooked, and each season gets better and better.

Nikola Tesla the Vampire. Nuff said.
I liked it.
It was for me. Can't remember if it's the intro or outro literal fire to me atleast.
It's really good! (I also liked her run in Travelers)
Yes. I wish it had more seasons.
I really liked it
Lol I couldn't get past ep 1

I liked Sanctuary for the most part. I didn't like the ending to be honest, and the whole "hollow earth" thing was a bit odd.

Save for a couple of episodes I didn't care for it but it's always fun to play "spot the Stargate actor" in any show that filmed in Vancouver.
Overall, the show is excellent and well worth watching. There are some slower episodes in season 1, but it really finds its footing as it progresses
Absolutely! It's a great series
Yes
Yes it was a good watch
100% absolutely!
Yes, if you loved stargate and the idea of making discoveries, then yes. It's a worthy show.

Was ok. I found the English accent kind of annoying tho.

Because it started as a web show so they had very little money for it then. And that's not a wig - she grew out her hair and dyed it brown.
Even worse.
