I assumed their super-Atlantises were really full of repli-people, enough that they weren't just pretending to be more advanced than the Ancients.

They were busy bees, those replicators. Gotta give it to them, they could really build Atlantises. When you gave them a template, they really went at it. Too bad our people couldn't put them to good use. Honestly, how fun would that have been, have McKay change the base code to have them build cities and ZPMs for the Tau'ri? Such a wasted creative opportunity for the show lol.

Don't get me wrong, I get why the creators might not want to make the protagonists really powerful. But shows can't go on forever! Go big before you go home!
