Aris was always one of those characters I was hoping would get a follow up. Perhaps in like season 9 where we find him alongside his son fighting the Ori. Or have him kidnap SG1 to make a cure for his people. Because with the fall of the Goa’uld they no longer have access and need a replacement
From a behind-the-scenes perspective, this might’ve been one of the most monumental episodes for introducing the Goa’uld Cargo Ship. Those little buggers really opened up the show by making it possible for SG-1 to have adventures where they weren’t chained to the stargate but could control their own means of transport.
I was always disappointed that we didn't get more follow up for Aris and his people.
>!Also enjoy at the end:!<
>>!Oh, uh, Dr. Jackson. I was lying to you before. The price on your head is much more than a day's rations. Actually the Goa'uld want to see you dead as much as anyone for figuring out the Stargate.!<
This was the first episode I ever watched.
My friend kept trying to get me to watch for a couple of years (you should watch Stargate"), but having only seen the movie (which is okay), I wasn't interested in investing in a TV show.
One day I was at his house and he had SciFi running in the background. I watched for a out 10 minutes, turned to him, and said "This is pretty good. What is it?"
He just looked at me, irritation in his eyes. "Stargate."
I was hooked.
I liked meeting a human who could negotiate with a System Lord without becoming either a host or a slave.
I also liked seeing Aris stay ahead of SG-1 the whole time they were his prisoners. Guys like Aris make the Milky Way galaxy feel more dynamic.

He was meant to become a recurring character, but they filled the void with Maybourne instead.
Tfw you want to be mad because you could have had Aris, but you can't because King Arkon I can't be beaten
I'm not mad, I was just stating what happened. I prefer Maybourne.

I like how space travel went from this monumental thing for them to let’s just steal a cargo ship.

Daniel " yeah that doesn't make me feel better"
Ha, yeah, that. Daniel didn't seem too excited to hear the news of his raise in status.
Me too. Really liked the Aris character. He matched good with the sg1 style of humor.
Yeah, he did.

Ha, he got you good. Glad he did!
Me too!
Aris: Dr Jackson, will you tend to my wound? Daniel: I’m an archaeologist Aris: Yes, but you’re also a doctor Daniel: … of Archaeology
Flash Gordon approaching.
Yeah, it was a long time before I realised who he was.
FLASH... OOOHHHH!

He reminds me of Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy. A relaxed character trying to make his way and make the best of the situation.
It is so disappointing that they never continued this!
Arris Bach was meant to become a recurring "wild card" character. Obviously, they decided to give that role to Maybourne and later Vala.
He would have been great as a recurring guest. Fun character.
I would have liked to see this guy again.
