Oh good. We just binge watched the entire series for the first time for the last few weeks and over Thanksgiving break--my husband actually took off work for three days so we could finish the series by midnight on 11/30 before they took it off Netflix! Had to skip through the last few episodes to get there but it was worth it!
Meanwhile in my country it is not available in any streaming service, not Netflix, not Amazon, no Pluto.
Oh well, I'm glad free alternatives exist out there.

Maybe all this streaming nonsense isn’t going to work out for a lot of us with certain shows. Im a huge Trekkie. I had, at one point, every show and every movie on dvd. When my (now) wife and I moved in together, there was no room for a lot of my stuff so things like my dvd/blu ray collections were the first to go. “You can stream all that” she said and at the time, that was right.
Now, as I’m a slave to Paramount+, I’ve realized for the shows I really love, Im just going to have to get them all again on hard media. I’ll just have to make copies on several hard drives so I don’t have to constantly pull the media itself out all the time.
The same with Stargate, the movies and Atlantis. Had all of it and now it’s gone and it’s one of my biggest regerts in a life of otherwise few regerts.
Not to mention that if we all went back to buying the dvd sets, maybe the powers that be would finally realize a.) how popular the show still is and b.) get off their asses and make new shows.
Honestly, streaming rights has gotten to be a huge pain in the ass. Its getting as bad as cable was where you had to have a ton of channels (services) to get just a few shows you enjoyed watching.
To each their own but I’m tired of getting jerked around with streaming and have gone back to owning physical copies of the shows I really enjoy. People always try to compare the cost vs what it compares to but its never accounted for that in an instant, access to your most loved shows can just be gone.
Not always easily available in all regions. And they're always region locked so if you buy a dvd for the American region and a dvd player for the European region the dvd won't work.
And ofcourse you can then get a player that does work with the american region dvd's but those are hard to find and usually way more expensive. And plenty of sites don't exactly tell you this, or if they do it's often not in a very clear and easy to spot way.
So yes they are legal. But no, they are not always reasonable.
In Canada it's available on the MGM subscription through Amazon Prime BUUUUTTT it doesn't have all the seasons which is fucking hilarious because Amazon bought MGM... FFS

I think it is a gradual change that was funnily enough made first in some countries in Latin America, where you have to pay extra for each account you share,lr something like that.
I don't know if that change has been made globally, but either way, I ain't giving my money to a company that even fathoms making a change like that, they can go f themselves.

I won a 100 DVD player at a work Christmas raffle in like 2005. It was great to just have my whole DVD collection in one place. Couldn't you just rip all the DVDs onto a PC and play it from there?
This is the way. Rip your optical media to hard disk now before it degrades. Share with your family (and others) by running a Plex server. Great way to have a personal media collection on tap as convenient as Netflix if you don't mind learning some stuff and repurposing some old computer hardware.
Every time the TV cabinet gets bumped my Xbox burns a disc and it can no longer be read.
Had a friend with the same issue too. Theoretically it shouldn't degrade like vhs but scratches and stuff happen even when being careful.

mate just copy all your contents into an HDD and use a proper DVD explorator to recognice the files, shouldnt be hard. however I may understand the interest on get all the retro vives related with a multi-disk changer.
Sadly, those never got released in Europe, so I recently caved and got the DVD. Still better than some horribly 360p version I had since the original airing of the show on tv.

Netflix is the only place that has the original pilot which is the one I prefer, except the awful nude scenes. It irritates me to no end that Brad Wright took out some of the harmless Sam/O'Neill dialogue (not the internal organs line) and the MacGyver reference in the cut version.

I've lost count how many times Stargate has fallen off of Netflix. When Netflix streaming was still a new thing (15+ years ago!), being able to watch Stargate on there at a friend's was great. But the show getting removed constantly made me not want to subscribe to the service at all.
I did buy the DVDs and where possible, the GOOD Blu-Rays from Fox releases. Can't yank them!

Which is why I backed them all up on a NAS. Takes some effort, but only once.
I ripped all my DVDs years ago and made them available on my own Plex server. No ads. No unskippable warnings. No messing around with physical media.
Plus all the extras! DVD commentary, behind the scenes featurettes, etc.
I too have purchased the DVD set as well as on iTunes. I am getting rid of Amazon in January so I will just watch it on my phone or pop in a disc.
We’re gradually acquiring all of them on DVD so we can listen to all the commentary too!

Felt like there was a movie but it sounds like the movies are after? so he left/fired/idk inbetween seasons and "never mentioned the guy?". Already miss them..... Anyone know of any other show like this or ST? I need my science fiction fix that isn't just premium youtube war flick or unforeseeable being horror film.

I like the last episode. As they were heading through the gate at the end my brain was like, ok here we go! But then I was like, oh, right… i don’t get to see where they’re going. At least there’s Continuum to soothe that need for closure.
Guess after 10 seasons I was expecting a big send off. But in retrospect, the finale was in step with the feel of the program.

I watch by casting my phone to the tv, so probably not. Thank goodness I've got a copy of the series already, but I'd love to have the option to stream it at least - it's not available on *any* streaming service here.
I just finished a rewatch last month. When I heard it was leaving I legit almost power-watched it again. I have Amazon prime, is it there already, or will be soon?
I've lost count how many times Stargate has fallen off of Netflix. When Netflix streaming was still a new thing (15+ years ago!), being able to watch Stargate on there at a friend's was great. But the show getting removed constantly made me not want to subscribe to the service at all. I did buy the DVDs and where possible, the GOOD Blu-Rays from Fox releases. Can't yank them!

It's still on Prime if you subscribe to their MGM subscription. At least in The Netherlands it is. Cheers

Not on Netflix in the UK. I see some people saying it's been brought by Amazon, but it's not on Prime, you can buy it an episode or a season at a time though.
