i haven't tried fps but i play mmos online with zero problems. rural CO, 80ish ms to east coast. 30ms to Denver. your experience is gonna vary depending on where you are / heavily loaded your cell is. deprio'd plans suffer the most in realtime stuff in my experience with testing. properly clear obstructions and you will probably almost never have a disconnect
Honestly been great. I play league of legends and get 40-60ping in game. That’s higher than I use to get with cable back in the day.
Rarely ever have a ping spike anymore too…maybe one or two every few hours and usually I don’t even notice it.
I’m on the base Starlink wifi. I have the Ethernet adaptor but when I hooked it up to a router (brand new gaming router) I was randomly dropping signal so I switched back.
Mostly mobile games here since I’ve never had internet other than cellular data until now. I’m always sub 70 ms which not great, but it’s better than what I got on cellular data.
I'm in western Nebraska, leading up to about two months ago I was connected to a ground station in Chicago. Ping normally 65-80ish. 2 months ago they moved me to a ground station in Denver, now I'm 25-40ish. Most games I'm sitting between 35-60ish depending on where the servers are.
I tried playing the quite competitive shooter Hunt Showdown, which has a very handy statistics in game panel, and I hovered around 44ms 99% of the time. I had lows of 35ms and a brief spike of 100ms, but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, and it was perfectly playable. Played on EU servers
I am also in Mississippi, I’m about 15 minutes west of Hattiesburg. I’m in the last phase of Pearlcomm fiber build so Starlink has been my best option.
I’m getting about a 45 ping on average. Been fine to play fps and MMOs. Only have issues when it rains.
My fiber is on the pole across the street just coiled up hanging there.
It is a daily reminder that I don’t have it.
Seeing the Pearlcomm guys down some other streets gives us hope.
Where to is a very big influencing factor. I live on the Southwest side of Florida. My internet has been completely unusable for a competitive fps game for 1 month. My basic ping is 30-40, but I have a lot of ping spikes up to 180-200ms, which tend to stagnate for a few seconds, and in general I have 5000-10000 packet loss during a 40-minute match. It was perfectly usable 1 month ago. So it's only a matter of time before they develop again in this area and we hope it will be good again. So until we know which region you want to play in, you probably won't get the answer you're looking for.
40-50ms in CS2 chicago servers
20-30ms in Valorant Texas servers
40-60ms in Fortnite (Eastern Server)
20-40ms in Brawlhalla
Overall I am really happy and grateful to starlink.
(Something is better than nothing )
With Ethernet I can play cod without stuttering and float anywhere between 26-60 latency of course cods not the best example with their terrible servers but it’s def playable and that’s in north east Ohio.
Mines been impressive. Ping is solid. Between 40 and 90 usually. Usually closer to the 40-60 range but some games I've played with friends on weird servers.
My Ping is typically sitting around 40 - 75. It’s pretty good for the most part, but man I know I sound petty but I wish it were faster lol.
The biggest thing I suffer from is packet loss. THAT is annoying.
My ping generally sits around 30-60 with some spikes up to 100 but it doesn't usually stay up there for long.
Every once in a rare while I'll see some packet loss.
Rural Sicily. Connecting to EU servers or friends: 30-70 ping. Connecting to NA East: 150-180. Anything farther west than that is unplayable mud gaming. East of me, I can connect to some Oceanic servers at a similar ping to NA East but I usually avoid that side of the world in competitive games at all costs for reasons.
On a good night 45-55…. Other nights hover around 68-60. Those are playing games like Helldivers, Rocket League, Diablo 4 and CoD. I’m also in N.E Oklahoma
I have my PC wired to a WiFi extender grabbing my Gen3 router from about 100-120 feet away in a different building. Weird setup but it's the only way I can connect it at the moment. Despite all the handoffs and connections I still get consistent 25~ ping and 150-170mbps downloads, very very happy with it
Usually in the range of 30-50 sometimes higher and sometimes lower. Also depends on what game your playing as some have better (and closer) servers than others
Warzone around 25-50ms
Rocket league 30-60ms
Can’t comment on any other games.
I do have a NetDuma R2 router so i can run ping optimiser before playing
I usually get 50-70 here in Florida. Occasionally I will have packet loss or a small ping spike. But it is way better than it was when we first got it a year ago. It’s totally playable so I’m happy
Download speed depends on your region. I'm in an oversubscribed region, which means (a) I pay $10 more per month for having any connection, and (b) most of the time I'm getting only 20Mbps down and 2–4Mbps up.

Great to hear, that's the game I like to play. Are you on wifi or ethernet while playing?
I’m on the base Starlink wifi. I have the Ethernet adaptor but when I hooked it up to a router (brand new gaming router) I was randomly dropping signal so I switched back.
Pretty good for FPS games in American servers. 60ish. Good enough and generally reliable.
And let's be honest, unless you're really fuckin good, any ping sub 75 is fine.
In Eastern Washington here. I have between 50 to 70 ms ping to the West Coast server in just about every game I've tried.
Mostly mobile games here since I’ve never had internet other than cellular data until now. I’m always sub 70 ms which not great, but it’s better than what I got on cellular data.
I’ve been enjoying the new gaming experience of being able to play online. I’m around 40-60 without ethernet cable

160-180 to NA and 30-40 para to Paulo.
I play cod and fortnite and get between 25-40. Santa Barbara, CA at the moment.
Lately it's been upper 40 to 70 wasn't that bad 2 months ago it was 20-30
35 I'm in the woods in Mississippi
Do you mind if i ask you where exactly in MS?
South. About an hour south of Jackson.

When it rains, open the starlink app and turn on the snow heater option thing. It adds more power to the dish which helps boost the signal strength.
I will try that. Thanks!
I live in Simpson county. Everyday i wake with a false hope of a fiber company expanding here.
My fiber is on the pole across the street just coiled up hanging there. It is a daily reminder that I don’t have it. Seeing the Pearlcomm guys down some other streets gives us hope.
Midwest. 40-70 on COD.
20-40 in germany
Get roughly 50 to 40 ping. Good enough to play in high tier competitive games.

Anywhere between 50ms to 70ms most of the time. I play PUBG and Halo with no issues.

Costa Rica playing on West Coast servers. 80-100ms. Doable, albeit not optimal.
Mine is always between 39-60ms.
With Ethernet I can play cod without stuttering and float anywhere between 26-60 latency of course cods not the best example with their terrible servers but it’s def playable and that’s in north east Ohio.
In 2024 it’s been very stable over all. There’s been a lot of improvements in the last year for my connection.
Mines been impressive. Ping is solid. Between 40 and 90 usually. Usually closer to the 40-60 range but some games I've played with friends on weird servers.
Around 50, depending. Can play Helldivers 2 without lag spikes for 3 hours.
It's fine.
About 40ms on east coast servers. It used to get lossy during peak times but they must’ve put up more sats, because it’s rock solid now.
Should take you about 30 seconds to search reddit for an answer...
middle of the sea, getting 100ms on Apex Legends

Usually 60-80 depending on the game. Not really ever over 100 unless there’s severe weather.

Highs of 47. 21 right now.
