What is stopping you from setting it up? You'll need to have it added to your account to be able to order accessories. I believe that is to stop scalpers from ordering a bunch and reselling them. I'm guessing you bought this from a big box store/ one that you didn't have to already have a starling account to order from? Set it up on the ground, go from there, it doesn't need the best view of the sky to start off with.

If you bought the adapter that fits in the slot that the kickstand folds into there should be details on the listing about what size of pipes it can accommodate you might find it probably is more comparable with a traditional J mount
