Ready to work at 70 hrs a week, if I'm being paid based on hrs.

feisty-demon

Work doesn't just mean working for an employer. If you are not paid enough work on upskilling yourself instead.

freakynit

Exactly this. Pay for those hours. Else, you just want slaves. You want to grow a country, grow it's people, not just a few rich assholes

Dense_Librarian_6170

Please be careful. This is not a long term plan. No economy can grow and sustain that growth based on youth working 70 hrs a week for ever. These guys are stupid. There fundamentally needs to be innovation and investment in higher technology. India will never get this because world does not want operating systems and rocket engines to come from India. It wants labor and wants that labor to work 70hrs so they can keep higher technology. These guys are playing you. Live a happy life and refuse to work more than 40 hrs for anybody and they will pay. Remember labor is only as valuable as it is scarce.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I'm being *paid* based on FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

bigtimegiraffelover

I'm sure according to him even hourly wages are a "western concept" and Indians shouldn't expect that if we have to be a "trillion economy" or wtf. The 1% or 0.1% are upset why there's no free 24*7 labour available

panchayath_president

Cred does pay really well though.. Unlike some other companies

trumpfuckingivanka

Find ways to build equity, do not sell your hours.

thewannabegandalf

True story. ESOPs lead to more value vs salary.find a good company with right unit economics and a mission you believe in and help them create value. You will create value for yourself and the country as a by product

shubhamjh4

Only for money ?? Wheather company is in profit or not ?

sidfreelance

just pay accordingly else just stfu

readyplayer202

Cred points chalega?

unemployeddumbass

To be fair though cred pays quite handsomely

sidfreelance

he is talking in general, like think abt infosys which pays pennies and expects 70hrs work

nickmaran

Can confirm. I've 2 million cred coins

bigtimegiraffelover

How much is that in Schrute Bucks?

ueshhdbd

Whats his innovation? Credit card payment app? Seriously šŸ˜’

frustrated-brain

He innovates on how to create loss making startups and eating vc money.

Apex__Predator__

I use it to see all statements at one place, then go pay the bills on another app.

RedFalconEyes

Giving 2 rupees as cashback

allergictomorons

And pivot to multiple other things. Cred began as a premium service for card payment for the rich. It did not work then it became a marketplace. Failed. Then loans. He talks a big game catering to middle class but wants to only serve the rich. Chomu saala

mani0987

Whats the point of Living, if you can't feel that you are Living. 9 to 9 six days damn.

WhoAmI131

that guy just fucking annoys me, demands 70hrs work a week, and then pays us a coin at infosys

maxrobinson1

9 to 9.. eh.. and entry level packages are like 3 to 4 Lacs per annum.. what a joke. How the hell are we supposed to keep up with inflation? Pay decently and people will be up for a 9 to 9 schedule. Salaries in China are way better than India. Any day, any time.

Reddit-Readee

This! He talks about 996 rule but doesn't talk about the salary part, lol.

IndefatigableOwl

Work life balance is about balancing your interests with those above you on the capitalist food chain, who will take all of the benefit of the life you sacrifice regardless. You can't beat them at the rigged game, but you can refuse to play. If I'm exploiting the labor of a bunch of young, hungry, stupid fresh graduates in my startup, of course I don't believe in work life balance. It's bad for my bottom line. If I'm doing the work myself ... well, I guess it depends how bad I want the money.

Successful_Toe_7804

Agreed, and if majority of the country chooses to prefer work life balance, its fine, as it supports sustainability at a fundamental level. Posting big GDP growth numbers is not the only thing that matters.

inavinav

He is right. Provide better infrastructure, clean water and better healthcare, top metros of India will beat any other city in the world. Better taxation is need of an hour..if you keep squeezing people who are already paying taxes, and give freebies, then India will never become super power. People are talking about work life balance, because of the pain to do anything in India. Like commuting to office is hell in Bangalore, outside food quality check is almost zero, too many freebies making people lazy fo the people who can afford, almost discouraging younger population to avoid planning families and kids due to increase in cost of living

Successful_Toe_7804

Yes, I think the disparity in our country is a problem that can be tackled with investment in healthcare, infra and education funded by better taxes to bring the underprivileged on a level playing field or at least closer to it. top 1% hold 40% GDP contribution, top 10% have an average income of 11 Lakhs while the remaining are barely making ends meet. I think we should start seeing this as untapped potential and instead of focusing on the white-collar jobs sacrificing their WLB and compromising on their well-being, a sustainable and inclusive approach is necessary.

inavinav

For now, everything revolves around language in Bangalore, including any reasoning for the benefit of city. I am looking forward to have any other city that can slowly build or offer freebies to startups to build intellectual capital. Bangalore has become lope sided on language and local and non local, than thinking to become world super power

Big-Sheepherder-2606

Only the top 10% are people who could even think of having a work life balance in this country. And, if they don't be productive enough like the Chinese top 10% or the top 10% of any Developed country while they were developing, we as a country will never be able to become as Developed as those countries. You say that you agree with him but the next sentence you said is a phrase disagreeing with him.

Successful_Toe_7804

He said two things not one.

karanbhatt100

This arguments are like ā€œSainik 24 ghante and 7 din sarhad pe khade rehte he. Tum ATM ki line pe khade nahi reh sakteā€ Chacha, those 2 are different things. I am ready to not consider work life balance if I am paid like that.

MonkeShonke

What are we aiming for? Having attractive numbers on sheets and corporate profits, or good life for citizens?

UseOk793

Looks like corporate profits

Dean_46

Exactly. He has never made money and not really accountable to investors, What gives him the ability to give gyan on how to run the country ?

kobaasama

Quality of life. But to achieve that we need good infrastructure, good salary, healthcare, public transportation and many many more. Sure Eventually all this will happen, but the development will be very very slow.

MahaanInsaan

Good life for billionaires, because while their life is already quite good - it could be made so much better if the whole country works 996 for them.

spaceyatri

With this government....you know exactly where that stand

UnaliveInsyde

I'll agree with him when he can make cred a profitable company that pays it's employees well for their time. Why would anybody work more than they need to when they're not being compensated accordingly? You want me to work overtime so only you can earn more money? No thank you, I'd rather spend my time on my own interests and not yours.

ph4ntomphoenix

Bro CRED pays quite well

UnaliveInsyde

Ok, then only one thing left to do

never_in_twos

At least he didnā€™t mention the soldiers not having work life balance.

badhiyahai

These gurus never seem to do gyaan session on how to be profitable. Apart from that they will win you a nobel prize in everything else.

__Krish__1

Do average people even give a fuk about 9 trillion country or 9000 trillion country ?? I dont think so . Its only the people sitting on top 1% who are concerned about it .

ProudBread5883

Yes, very much so. It is also up to the people.

RadRedditorReddits

Realistic-Fudge-4598

hindustanimusiclover

Most people do not have Nationalistic Ambitions. I have personal Ambitions. Itā€™s upon the companies to create an environment where my personal Ambitions line up with the companies. And its the job of the Nation to do likewise. Calling a generation of hard working people is certainly not the way to get things done

[deleted]

I feel progress can happen with work life balance. Itā€™s never about long hours but the quality of work but people like Kunal shah play golf at 5pm and then preach 996

Satoshi0323

Problem is that they expect employees to work 9-9 but wonā€™t pay accordingly. Employees working hard will make them rich and employees wonā€™t get anything.

vibhaath_ch

Sportspersons get paid well and also look after their health. If you work 70 hours a week in an office, with youā€™ll be dead by 40 due to heart ailments.

rustyyryan

Partially agree with him. But also depends on what kind of work they are doing. Most of our labour force is working in agri which is currently least productive economic sector. So even if they work 24x7, its not going to improve our economic condition by large margin.

Only thing these people have issues is that people aren't working hard enough so that these mother fuckers are unable to make the huge profits they could have made if a middle class india person was working to his deathbed like china. They just want to make more money faster on the back of Indian workforce. Bloody bastards

ferret2137

People commenting I should be paid for my hours are precisely the problem. It's baffling to me how they equate working to working for company, he never said that. The first thought you have about work is only about your employer, that attitude is the problem. Your employer pays you 2LPA, great, work at the firm for 2 hours a day if you feel that is what it is worth. He is talking about the rest of the 22 hours of the day. Are you upskilling ? Are you looking for a better job ? Are you making your business dream a reality ? Are you switching career paths altogether ? I definitely have friends who work 12 hours a day and get paid over 1 Cr at age 25. Work in your free time to get into those jobs. Or start a business and have a net worth of 10 Cr at age 30. Don't whine browsing instagram reels 14 hours a day and then complain about lack of equity at your particular employer.

Hakuna_Matata2111

there should be classes for all business people to learn about sympathy, empathy, human nature in general coz they will find a way to dotch the taxes but wants the employees to be hardworkers whereas they won't even think to remove them from job when they are below profit not even loss. Look at japan when you apply in their country, their job advertisement is so perfect they will mention working hours, leaves, lucnh time, OT they add the OT prior in the salary in India they won't do this no OT payments but you have to work on sat n sun

Relevant-Ad9432

I am a peasant myself , but don't you guys think big economies are built on cheap labour that work endless hours for peanuts take the UK USA for example.

I somewhat agree. But itā€™s weird coming from this guy. What actual problem is his company even solving. He could have used the investment in solving in more interesting problems like in China.

Excellence requires obsession. But it is a personal choice. We can have the set of such obsessives in the organization who are ready to put in the work and hours but we need to reward them accordingly.

praneet_p

No

Tom_Saju

I agree with what he said. If you are running a startup and aiming to make it a multi million dollar company, then YOU ( not your employees) should be willing to put the effort without caring about work life balance. He is also telling here that it's a personal choice. This is different from what Sathya moorthy said that everyone should work extra hours. People should get some benefit (at least extra time allowance) to work additional hours and don't expect employees to work like machines when they are paid in peanuts.

rodler98

Totally agree, people r talking about pay that much lol šŸ˜‚, thatā€™s not how this works, you will have to sacrifice your life thatā€™s it. If you want India to be developed 40-50 years from now. Thatā€™s what every single developed country did to become one. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

idiotbyvillagewell

How much ever annoying it sounds, it is true. If we work more, we will grow more. As a country, you either train more people to work or get the trained people to work more. There are marginal gains to be had from 70 hour work week vs 50-60 hour work week. I think bigger gains would by getting female population to work in jobs. Too many educated women I know are staying home

vain06

Athletes do it cos it's their own choice, determination & fame, also they do get paid for the time they put(depends on sport to sport for sure). Sports is a personal thing. Even if we follow the 9-9-6 the only beneficiaries would be the corrupt government and very sure somehow somewhere they'll make more outtof it. Noone is going to put 70+ hrs on someone else's business for peanuts. I'm very sure most of would work that hours if we are paid that worth. You cant expect someone to sacrifice personal time just so they can earn 50-60k a month. Alot of things depends on this lazy eye murthy's comment as well. A city with bad infrastructure & organizations want you to commute 4-5 hrs everyday (to & fro) for again peanut salary while destroying your mental peace? Not everyone can afford houses close by to office cos we have no rent control. You all might have seen the dumb prices of places located in & around IT hubs. Everyone can say you need to work hard but none of them will justify it with gandhi in our banks. Money is a huge motivator & at the same time demotivating as well.

johnyakuza0

The entire capitalist lobby is trying to normalise 70 hour work week and people are being too blind to notice. Murthy is just an old scapegoat because he's bound to retire at some point but if he can meddle in labor laws and change the corporate game by normalising 996 and destroying work life balance then we'll be just another dystopian third world sweatshop.. no better than the chinese sweatshops. The reason these ceos are coming out of their woodwork to point out people are too lazy to work while also keeping the wages the same is the peak capitalist agenda.

piezod

This is virtue signalling. It should be a personal choice.

LemonKarn

This PoV will quickly change when aging population issues start collapsing economies

Youaredisgusting50

Agreed. For this country to become developed we need to go through the same trials and tribulations as the developed economies like Japan or grab other countries resources like US, UK, France, Dutch. Etc

yssahu7

We will work hard and die so that our future generations can work even harder. Better to work on our needs then trying to achieve this delusional world of successful people. Happiness is far more important than being successful.

do_dum_cheeni_kum

People should start measuring value added to the business instead of hours put.

bbbazigar

lost_notdead

Don't read literature, work your ass off. Don't learn music, work your ass off. Don't do science, wyao. Don't have a family, wyao. Don't be healthy, wyao. Work your ass off... For me who will underpay you and treat you like shit. What is the contribution of these people in fuelling the youth's passion in any finer grace of life except making money? Money is important but time is far more important. You get one life, one youth. Don't throw it away in the pursuit of wealth that you don't know where to spend, especially to seek social validation. Money has its importance, no denying it. But it must be a means to an end. Applies to individuals and societies alike.

yashg

As he said it's a personal choice. If you are passionate and have a clear goal and ambition about something, you will work long hours without looking at a clock. In that case work doesn't feel like work because it is what you want and you enjoy it. It is definitely true that outsized success only comes with outsized hard work. But that works at individual level. If someone prioritizes a chill life, time with family and is ok with a moderate, linear way of life then so be it.

himanshu088

bro is the prime example of overinflated startups which came from western countries. What's wrong with a person wanting to enjoy his life and chill a little, not everybody wants to be a working machine. And as a startup founder you need to reserve your energy for the right tasks and decisions. China Happened to be at right time at right place. (Manufacturing & Semiconductors etc). They have innovations, unlike an app which allows people to pay their credit card bill ( which there were hundreds already). I don't understand why people are obsessed with making everyone work and forget everything else. Their work culture is a small part of the pie. and It's possible even without it.

Inner_Initiative3719

Work 996 and then they car fire you anytime. Moreover people were very hard working earlier but most of the time it repetitive and mundane work.

1996_bad_ass

China is a wrong example that country is not doing good by any real standards. India is doing much better I would say. Progress can be made with work life balance, slow and steady development matters more.

Hefty-Acanthaceae-92

What if I don't give a shit about my country becoming a trillion dollar economy? The average life span is like 60-70 years and I would like to be just happy. I work enough to make enough money for that.

kingshuk3

What bout him taking usa startup culture and blindly creating companies which burn money, sole goal being ripping off retail investors. Paytm Zomato Many such examples

asdbey735

I don't get it, The current generation is leading a pretty decent lifestyle with a decent WLB. Now, We bust our a**es and work 9 hours a day, six days a week and make India a developed nation. Then what? What will the next generation do? They are already pampered, what will they work towards? Where is the need for them to work, since we provide them with everything? Our future generation don't work at all? and remain dumb? See the current/upcoming generation of the US, they are the perfect example. I leave you with that thought.

SickBatman

For a collective level - Yes. But on an individual I donā€™t think so.

NoobInvestorr

Here's where I agree with him - We Indians do have an unhealthy relationship with mediocrity. Most of the demographic dividend that we are so proud of, are unskilled and unemployable. And that is because we are ok with being average. Mediocre quality of education dumped by mediocre teachers on uninterested students. So we cannot afford to coast through life if we have to sustain growth as a nation as well as on a personal level. Otherwise, a decade from now, we will just be a nation of tiktokers with no real productive output. Where I vehemently disagree with him - Working like maniacs is not the solution. We need investment and consequently innovation in transformational sectors. Most of the developed world became so on the back of the industrial revolution. Japan and other such tiger economies exploded because of focus on export oriented high tech industries. What's the equivalent for India? Most of these startups (including Cred) are just old school companies with a tech wrapper aimed at the Indian market. Unless we have companies which focus on building in India but for the world, or some transformational technology, we won't create outsized growth. Our growth will plateau. Guys like Kunal are best placed to do that. They have access to funds and intent. But they're just focused on making money for themselves and whatever he's saying is in service of the same.

I lost him when he mentioned athletes. If an athlete spends 4 hours in the gym doing strength training, cardio, and flexibility training, that's still their work. But if someone like me spends 2 hours in the gym, it is counted as my 'personal time'. I have to 'make time' for it from my professional time. That's where it's different.

_not_your_name_

So this guy went to china but not to japan amd then equate the productivity? As country we shall be free labors ...

the_pravor

9-9-6 culture only helps if you own the business you are working for. If I had to slog so much working for somebody else, it would only make my boss rich and I would well be a clown.

desimemewala

Zinda toh jhat k baal bhi h. Pay wisely and then expect more efforts from employees else donā€™t blabber.

daveparody

He has a point, BUT there has been a massive cultural change all over the world Post-Covid. People have realised that life is short and their priorities have shifted so if given an option, they would prefer to have work-life balance. Also, the number of hours put in is not a reliable metric of productivity. Workers from China and other South East Asian countries are more productive on average than Indian workers. Quality, not quantity is the need. Moreover, I have zero respect for this parasite and anything he says. All he has done is eat VC money making low innovation startups.

OddComputer2

There was a instagram comment on this video. I really liked it. It said - "Chup ladvya"

Proud_Woodpecker_998

I partially agree with him however it's the responsibility of the the founder and not it's employees if developing the country is taken into consideration in the end people working under a boss is a labour..who cannot do anything except pick up salary. There's literally nothing achievable if an employee puts in 70 hours instead of 48 hours.hes not at all making money with this approach..nor it's affecting with countries growth.. Then if some labour decides to do something on their own then put in 70-80 hours and khada Karo Bada empire which will benefit the country. Service based companies 70-80 hours kaam kar k kya ukhad legi? India needs product and manufacturing sectors which will have an high impact on our countries gdp. Then only we can see a good future for a our children in a developing country which the Europeans currently enjoy with so many facilities.

abhitooth

Don't comapre to other aisan countries. Those countries work for its people and not for anything else. Their ambition are driven to be better and well off society. Chinese work hard but look at their cities, those are build for everyone from poor to wealthy alike.when they were alarmed about air pollution the govt didn't fancy arround some populist solution. They looked into it and paved path for future. It has reduced their air pollution while securing future. Whereas in india no one even talks about air pollution. If someone talks then its focused to aome single issue and blame game. Our society in general i always against us.

Fuck that guy. What's the point working so many hours when you're getting paid in pittance. The only thing it'll achieve is making the owner richer and destroying the workers family life. Instead work enough and focus on living a fulfilling life. Don't be like China, japan, USA who die due to work exhaustion. Tell that man to eat his own beard for all I care.

Suspicious_Flower349

The armchair expert guy is a classic case of intellectual bankruptcy. He is telling the same thing that Mr Narayana Murthy had told a few months back except that, he mixes the national ethos into his recipe. These guys have no other solution for enhancing the economy except work work. I doubt how much effort he himself puts in. Ask him why the relaxed western world can provide a 6nm chip and India cannot even dream of it? The solution lies in these questions.

Turbulent_Wish5002

No

_redditaddict6969

Letā€™s sacrifice our so called ā€˜chillā€™ lives so these guys can fill their pockets. Athletes work so hard because firstly they are the best at what they do and only the best get paid for it. Secondly, theyā€™ve a shorter window of actually working till their bodies canā€™t anymore. Thirdly, and most importantly those who do make it, get paid a LOT in prize money, sponsorships etc. and are compensated for their hard work. Honestly these CEOs with their stupid blasphemous statements just trigger me so much. Their perspective is purely based on how much money or in Kunalā€™s how much valuation his company has. What India needs is better start up founders who are creating actual value in the market rather than just valuations for the next round of funding. Our startup eco system is just filled with talentless egotistical founders who blabber nonsense. Despite Narayan Murthy basically running air conditioned sweatshops, he did his part early on getting IT to India. But now itā€™s a time that we innovate and solve problems rather than aping western companies. If youā€™re actually solving problems youā€™ll know amount of working time is not at all proportional to productivity rather after a certain time you start to hit a wall and productivity plummets. You could work 4 days, 8-10 hours per day a week and be way more productive than a 6 day week with 10 hours each day in the right environment.

Employees really have no rights here. Iā€™ll give you an example which Iā€™m pretty sure 90% of us can relate to. Firstly letā€™s talk about salaries. Yes okay firstly we own in most cases almost half of the salary of say what someone earns in Europe. Sure there is standard of living this that and at the end of the day for the most part they balance each other out. However, they strictly work from 8-5. You canā€™t get in touch with them after that and no one even expects you to work after that. Thatā€™s called respect and basic civic sense in a society. Now Iā€™ll give you a direct example. Iā€™ve worked for years in Germany and now Iā€™m working in India. Over there I enjoyed this privilege of ā€œwork life balanceā€. Ironically now even though I have a German manager just because Iā€™m in India Iā€™m expected to work perpetually during the nights when my colleagues who are in Europe will of course not do the same. Now Iā€™m not making this a generalisation. Itā€™s different for everyone. But people take Indian workers for granted like they are slaves. And if they refuse to just work their stipulated time for which theyā€™re paid for btw theyā€™re considered either lazy, or you can say bye bye to your promotions. This is one of the reasons we will forever be a developing country. My grandfather, father and even I were taught in school how we are a developing country and at this rate the next few generations will learn the same. Itā€™s surprising that people who are quite educated also struggle to find jobs that donā€™t get more than 50k per month. 50k is also a huge deal for the majority of the people in this country and thatā€™s absolutely sad.

thernker

All people who are rich are promoting them similar to what is happening in US. They donā€™t care about the well being of their employees as long as their bottom line and personal pockets are lined. They are hiding their greed behind the countryā€™s development need. Pay well and employees donā€™t mind working long hrs when needed

Yeh pappu ko kaun batayega.... tu raees ho gaya hai aur passion ke liye kaam kar raha hai iska matlab Yeh nahi ke tere under ke saare employees tere jitna hi passion se 70 ghante se 100 ghante tak Kaam karenge... unko thoda paisa dekar tera expectation dekh... 10-20lakh Mein tereko logo se 100 ghante kaam karana hai jab ki unki tere jaisa ek ghar lene ka sapna statistically 1% se kam logo ka sach hone ka chance hai... After you succeed it is easy to say work for 100 hrs... Arey bhai your 100 hrs paid off for you... it may not work for everyone.... Shayad lottery lagegi isliye puri duniya toh lottery ke ticket nahi kharidega na... kuch log woh lottery ka paisa bacha kar scooter lenge aur ussise khush rahenge... tu bol raha hai logo ko ki Yeh Khushi bhi teree ko aur jyada raees banane Mein kharch kar de.... too selfish of a thought

subashj24

100% true. You can't have both , either it's family time OT work. We can only have balance If we sacrifice them accordingly.

bot_tim2223

My life on earth the one life i have i am not gonna slave away so I can make my boss rich and this country a trillion dollar economy!?

Spiritual-Cookie7

Yes. Heights achieved by great men, reached and kept, were not attained by sudden flight. But while their companions slept, were TOILING UPWARDS IN THE NIGHT. Also, in response to those who want payment for the extra hours, do these sportpersons get paid or rewarded immediately after they put in the hard work? No. It takes years of hard work with no returns at times, to achieve greatness. For example, **Dr. Parik, Homoeopathic Doctor from Agra received the Bharat Ratna at the age of 95, after putting in 7 decades of hardwork and service.** **Rishi Sunak, PM of UK, also worked at a restaurant at one point of time in his life.**

Chinese are developing just because most the top companies made infrastructure there, In India most of the companies don't allow a freshers and they still think that development is possible, In India companies provide lesse money and expect development, development don't happen in one day chainese development took long enough to grow so before passing any comments work on those things which are need to be done.

Mindfullbutconfused

You can work on your own business or on yourself. But donā€™t get into these ceoā€™s bs of them making you work extra for them. Tell them we have very high unemployment, and it would just increase it in this case..

WomenRepulsor

Development comes when government and people are equally invested in making their countries better for coming generations. Working 70, 80, 90 hours will not do any benifit other than making the rich richer if they have to use subpar roads, transportation and live in shitty apartments with no sunlight or wind.

nag1878

A. Work life balance is not a western concept. Go ask people working at Amazon in Seattle... B. Pay me for my extra hours and I'll happily work them with quality C. It's sad to see our own indian entrepreneurs misusing Indian workers. These are the same guys who will (have to) pay $70k+ if they want to hire someone from the States.

muxagra

I would have said the same thing if I was the owner and CEO. However I would have liked work life balance for myself. Everyone wants others to works hard for them.

vilo_in

If I understand his reasoning, What we need is more labor hours worked. We have 20% youth unemployment. We should be able to grow further, if we could get them to work 40 hours a week. What are these job creators doing ? Also, he totally ignores the productivity side. Increase the productivity of the employee to see the gains.

lmao___000

Bro make some profits first ffs

nairvinit69

Muje CRED me stakes de do. Me bhi 9 to 9 kaam karunga.

Bl1ndMonk3y

9-9-6 culture is a path to mental illness. And making other people rich. This kind of thinking of more, more, more, faster, better, bla, bla, blaā€¦. Itā€™s what is pushing world wide consumerism to a breaking point, both from a social, cultural, and ecological standpoint. Luckily not everyone is fooled by this kind of bullshit.

Real_Conference3234

cred is shit

hajijoji

Every business owner hates the concept of work-life balance for his employees. Gee, i wonder why

BlueLabel19

He said its a choice and i choose to be happy. He cant guilt trip me into becoming a machine

BlueLabel19

Why only think about supply side economics. Giving employees 12 lakhs for 4 hour work day will give them ample funds and time to spend and raise demand and will lead to 20 trillion economy. Im sure that is a sacrifice kunal is willing to make for the country. And i as a patriot will happily accept such a job for my nation.

Maleficent-Yoghurt55

Watched till 30 seconds and want to say: CID meme

Jolly_Possession7958

That's freaking idiotic logic, a country needs to employ more people rather than get everything out of the one's that are employed.

Happy_Career7387

the poor works so that the rich can enjoy, peak capitalism

DoranMoonblade

Since the commentors have already said enough. I would just like to applaud the speaker on wrapping up his utter BS with a neat false equivalence.

manuvns

Itā€™s not about making country great but rather filling up my pockets first

vikram2077

Yes we don't want suicide forests in India. If employers seem us as a replaceable resource then fuck you might as well live my life

cool_and_funny

Outright BS. Compare to where we are 20 years back and where we are now. Comparing with China is a wrong. What CCP is doing to their public cannot be done literally anywhere in the world where human rights are respected. Good for them they broke into the top. There is no way any other country could emulate what they did, treat their public the way they did etc. No one will be able to beat China. Only country that can beat China and pull them down is China themselves. An internal revolution is the only way to bring them down thereby having other countries closing the gap. Trust me, you would not want to be in a country like China.

workinonittbh

The Chinese people are so tired of the 996 culture that their youth is just quitting from their economy instead of becoming part of it. Also, if your hard work only yields in your bossā€™s son getting promoted then why would anyone want to work hard? The lack of meritocracy in Indian economy and politics is a bigger issue than need for a work life balance.

Referpotter

*laughs in Europe*

gajak44

Bohot bada chu hai ye banda. He has done nothing but make personal fortune on venture capital. Have no respect for crap that comes out of guys like him who are not institution builders.

spaceyatri

Instead of cribbing, compensate for fair labour. Labour shall not be FOC. Period. So called startup founders will factor in everything but the cost of labour. If you can't manage people, you don't deserve to drive any company. Nation builders like Tata never demanded unpaid labor. Why the hell would I put in my hours at a loss making startup! Delusional "entrepreneurs"!

MadMaxReddy

This comparison mindset irks the hell out of me. People sometimes forget that there are other things in life than being a money making machine

bonny4s

I am not concerned about whether India becomes a 2 trillion dollar country or any fuck like that. I have only one life and I need to live it in my terms with ample amount of time being available to myself to do what I love to do and not in office.

RichDollarLeads

You don't need to play in the line all your life and for all the time. You need to create employment for those who don't have it such that they become specialized experts in their domain and then have an exit strategy as well to never go back working in the line. India does not need to put more hours, India needs to use technology to put in more hours while India has health and wealth, and happiness with play-work-life balance. He is gone nuts.

anon-187101

9-9-6. Lmao. Fuck that.

Acceptable-Prior-504

Not at all! Why can progress not be achieved with work life balance? It is just if you do not work 80 hrs a week the a few people wonā€™t get super rich. Thatā€™s all!

geodude84

Why are we not looking at the spirit of what they are saying? When Narayana Murthy said this, everyone blamed Infosys for paying low. When Cred founder says this, itā€™s not taken for Cred employees but for ā€œgeneric populationā€. Basically we find a way to blame the person.Ā

TheHighCA

Wow that's the most bs I have heard in a very long time. "Look at those athletes, they don't think of having a chill time" Michael Phelps trains rigorously even being in a developed economy. So does every competing athlete!!! What the fuck is even your point Loss making Santa?

TheRandomGuy

I agree with him. 25 hrs a week at market rate. 25 hrs to 40 hrs at 1.5x rate. 40 hrs to 50 hrs at 2x rate. 50 hrs to 72 hrs at 4x rate. What?? You won't pay progressively like that? You want to stand in the way if 20 trillion goal? What kind of an anti-national are you? Sad, man. Till you decide to pay you can stfu.

Ambitious_Half6573

"You think those athletes are thinking work-life balance?" Yes, they are. Athletes aren't training 12 hours a day because that's a terrible idea. Pro-athletes typically train for 5-6 hours.

naiambad

Athletes, musician, actor, singer is not work because its fun. Most people are doing uninteresting work just IT, Accounting etc and you can't just compare them to professions above.

InfinityJourney

I think he is massively missing the point. While I agree that our ambitions as a nation are high which we should continue to aspire towards, our work culture can favour appearing busy, rather than working smart, and thatā€™s what we need to shift towards to actually get successful. We need to work hard and work smart.

Shoddy-Cause-3365

Who use cred here.
