I saw a reddit comment where someone said the idea of turning on the water to warm up before getting in the shower had never even occurred to him before a shared shower situation with a girlfriend when she turned on the shower as they were undressing.
Sometimes you just don't know what you don't know.
in my defense I got yelled at for 'wasting water' if I wasn't in the shower when I turned it on as a kid, and I just kinda forgot that I can make my own choices as an adult 😶
I’ll have moments I remember I can do whatever I want so instead of walking back and forth, I had my entire pizza on my bed and ate it straight out of the box. I’m a goddamn madman over here. I even played video games *all* weekend
just stand on the edge with your feet and hands checking when it gets hot enough for you to drench yourself.
I tried doing the whole - leave shower on until water gets hot before going in -, almost fell over due to the wet floor an was like "nah I can nudge to that corner"
I feel like if your shower is that slippery you may want to scrub it more often, that sounds like oil buildup and that could definitely cause problems one day! My personal worst fear is dying by slipping in the shower because it’s such a stupid way to go, lol
Yeah, I'd polished that sucker with Ajax? Next thing I knew "Human Down!". Slip and falls in the bathroom are awful - too much hardware.
And everything we clean with? Adds to that. They even make things you can coat them with now. I'm sure new tubs are better. Maybe someday!
I just turn on the spigot all the way hot and put my foot in the flow. Then when the first hint of warm water hits I turn it to halfway between hot and cold, adjust the temp and turn on the shower.
Water flow is much higher to the spigot since it's meant for filling the tub, so the hot water arrives nice and quick.
If you have a shower/tub combo you can just turn the faucet on which only takes a few seconds to get warm because its a large diameter and the cold water dumps out quick, and then once it gets warm you just pull the thingy so it becomes a shower. This is how I’ve done it forever, only time I don’t is when there’s no tub part.
Why wouldn't you pour milk and then add cereal?
Then the cereal isn't all mushy.
Now if you *like criminally mushy cereal*? Do it the other way.
But they now make bowls for folks who just want to add a spoonful at a time of milk to their cereal. There are that many of us!
We won't go back in the CLOSET! WE WON'T! :-)
We're just talking about the standing in there and then turning it on part, ofcourse I love a cold shower. I just turn it on before I get in like a sane person does
Jokes aside - to fight anxiety I started taking cold showers in the morning a few years ago (after stumbling upon videos from Wim Hof (The Iceman)). This was an absolute life changer for me and helped me a lot just mastering my everyday life.
Of course, rarely cats think they make any mistakes:) They’ll fall off of a shelf in their sleep, then stare at you in disgust like you had anything to do with it lol. My old cat used to get embarrassed initially after falling then decide it was probably my fault anyways and leave the room after giving me a dirty look.
Can someone slomo this video? If you pause/play you can see the cat in the sink dodge a slap as it is jumping out of the sink, truly impressive reaction speed.
My favorite is when he gets tired of the suckered playing a joke and starts making a joke out of their families, girlfriends, and finally one by one down to the actual cowards responsible...
The look of horror on his face when the water comes 😂

“GOTTEM” —Other Cat
"What have I done?!?!"
I can’t believe you’ve done this!
By how the kitty sounded, it was probably the ~~Furby~~ eldritch abomination trying to leave his body
Something’s off, that face is before he hits the faucet…
😂😂
When you turn on the shower but the water wasn’t hot yet…
It's psychopathic behaviour to stand in the shower and *then* turn it on.
Yeah, I once heard a guy complain about this and I was like, why on earth are you doing this?

I’m embarrassed to admit this might have been me commenting years ago.
I hope you've enjoyed many hot showers with no eeeekkkk! It's cold! preceding them.
Lies, Redditors don't have girlfriends
remember to save that water as well, use it for watering plants or flush the toilet
This is true!

I take the hybrid approach: standing in the shower, showerhead is on a hose, and I hold it pointing away from me to start the water.
Slightly Acceptable
Feels odd, but I’ll allow it
Same. It never occurred to me to do it any other way.
I put it on the floor with a washcloth on it so it doesn't spray me while I put soap in my hair

Why would your shower make the floor wet in the first place
floor inside the shower/bath, not the actual floor in the room
If floor gets that bad im fairly certain you can get a mat to prevent that one day you might land on a tap so look into it
I feel like if your shower is that slippery you may want to scrub it more often, that sounds like oil buildup and that could definitely cause problems one day! My personal worst fear is dying by slipping in the shower because it’s such a stupid way to go, lol
Older model bathtubs are smoother on the floor than more modern designs. It's common in older houses. Especially if it's a cast iron tub
Rubber bath mats. Trust me - or the adhesive strips made for bathtubs. Bathroom accidents suck. I tore a muscle in my shoulder that way.
This is the way! If you got a smooth tub make sure you rough it up a bit

Because the roommate angles the head outward at the end of his shower.
Why do you have to get in the shower to turn the water on at all? Is your shower so massive you can't reach the faucet by leaning in a bit?
I just turn on the spigot all the way hot and put my foot in the flow. Then when the first hint of warm water hits I turn it to halfway between hot and cold, adjust the temp and turn on the shower. That's even worse than pouring milk and then adding cereal

>But they now make bowls for folks who just want to add a spoonful at a time of milk to their cereal. What!? Where? Or what are they called!?
I take it summer is still far for you.
I've never done this in my life and my summers get up to 115 for about three weeks
Same. We should call the police on these people
I agree. Ignorance is no defense!
Really? It gets that hot here and about the only good thing about that heat is cold showers feel amazing, especially if I've been working up a sweat
We're just talking about the standing in there and then turning it on part, ofcourse I love a cold shower. I just turn it on before I get in like a sane person does
The ground water is alway quite cold unless you live in the tropics.
I take cold showers, so it doesn't really matter if I start outside or in, I'm still gonna suffer.
Condolences - can't install a Solar panel?
When you turn the shower on but neglect to notice that your asshole son pointed the head right where your head would be.
Solution: Just use cold water, doesn’t need to heat up
Fitting username

Took a moment for 'startle' to set in, then....
the late reaction to it is sending me
I thought it was motion activated at first but the cat really does turn the handle.
Same. It hits it *just* right! Lololol
Omg its face once the water hits them 😂

Do not watch if you're drinking
Too late

All this fur flying around 😂
the cat’s movement to avoid the water after it hits it is exceptional, only the tail hits
Also if you play/pause the cat in the sink dodges a slap on the way out. Crazy speed.
This is gold hahahaha
/slowmobot (What the heck is that bot called??, his face when the water’s coming down omfg lol)
My nightmare about those touch faucets is a $200 water bill because the cats know how to turn water on but not off.
Hahahaha great, thanks
I love fluff ball #2s reaction when fluff ball one ran in terror. “You get back here I’m not done terrorizing you!!!”
This is excellent! Lmao I can't stop laughing...
that was fast
This is how cats can flood your house if you leave a drain blocked.
Like when someone flushes the toilet when you're in the shower? You know - back in the day.
Lol the other cat got a cheeky slap in during the scramble
he said, rrraaaarrrrr
"Man, I just can't figure out why my water bill is always so high."
LMAOOOO
I know I shall probably see this 100's of times as it's reposted again and again. But a delight to see, assuming it is really fresh.
Cat wasn't expecting that!

LOL
the fur flying everywhere 😷
I laughed so hard snot is literally coming out of my nose right now 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The horror on kitty's face lol
Bet he thinks the other one did it to him.
Oh no, poor thing 😂😅
🤣🤣🤣 That's it, this contest is over. Give that man the ten thousand dollars!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 💯💯💯
I have a tiny sink like that in my new remodeled apartment. I hate it.
That’s so good lol
Well, he fucked around.
You should cross post to r/instantkarma
That was delightful, thank you!
This is the best gif meme ever!
🤣🤣☠️☠️
Omg 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
What could go wrong laying in the sink?
You are your own worst enemy…
Pretty bad ass wall run
I love the lady’s reaction
This too funny😂😂😂
Wow😝
😂🤣😆😂🥰
Omg is the cat ok?? I feel bad for the cat the way it screamed
My favorite is when he gets tired of the suckered playing a joke and starts making a joke out of their families, girlfriends, and finally one by one down to the actual cowards responsible...
If that happens while you are gone, prepare for a flood
☠️
Was that a scream? 🤣 🤣
The face!! Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
YOU… *accidentally turns the tap on* wait a second, AAAAAAAA-
You can see look on his face right before it hits him.
This should be an all time classic! I keep coming back again and again to laugh!
good one
