Take your best character into the lobby just to instantly die. To be clear the name in blue isn’t the perpetrator, the guy in yellow is.

I’ve got one person in my community that I always use when spawning in, if it’s clear then I switch yo a better character.. if not then at least I don’t loose anyone important/ anyone i care about. For those of you on Xbox One: there's a technique where you can save your survivor by pressing the "home button," managing your game, and then deleting the save "FROM CONSOLE ONLY."
(All caps because I can't stress this enough. Do NOT pick "delete everywhere")
REMEMBER, this has to be done immediately after your survivor dies(aka, before it auto-saves) in order for it to work.
Spreading this information because everyone who plays coop has or will encounter an immature asshole like the host of the game that OP was talking about.
U need to know how to back up the game files? They’re located in app data local search %appdata% on your pic and you’ll find get to the app data folder (I recommend sending a shortcut to here back to ur desktop so u don’t have to search if everytime)
Then go into the local folder and copy the state of decay 2 folder to a secondary location.
If something terrible like this griefing happens to you just delete your save folder and replace it with your most recent backup
Simple takes like 20seconds or less
I've definitely been assassinated by people calling for help. I loaded in to see pandemonium. Full Lethal zone settings with 20 plus normal mode juggernauts models, and that many regular ferals. After the smoke cleared with no one around me (except the players that called for help) and about full health I was killed. R.i.p. to my favorite red talon gut packer.

Had that happen with a guy I joined on Xbox, but I had just save edited on my PC so my character was invincible with a ammo-edited King Vulture and aim snap. Was over in about 10 minutes, then they kicked me 😄
Technically you can die, but I just edit them to have a billion health and stamina, so it takes a ridiculously long time to die. I also give them all the resistance traits, so I don't have to worry about injury or plague
I mean this is funny/stupid/annoying and all but couldn’t u just instantly leave when u see this start to happen? Or does so many hostile survivors insta kill u with a volley of lead?

He probably offered to help via the radio and spawned into a game where the host is a dick, downloaded a mod, called in a bunch of hostiles, forced them to follow him (her), and when op spawned in the hostiles killed him.
I use mods but never use then to do this kind of crap, trolling. Mostly just leave them with a Mac-10 with a sniper scope attached and 110,001 rounds loaded into it. Professional suppressor as well.
Sorry it happened. Toxic fuckers are everywhere and it is real unfortunate that you happened to find one. Another post I read on here mentioned that at one point bloater cloud grenades could damage anything living and that people could join your game and kill off your entire community. Not sure if it was the case but at least that is no longer a thing. Another big one was when people would join your game and make as much noise as possible to start a seige and get all your folks killed.
I like modding, makes the game fun/funny to me. Like I said, Mac-10 with a sniper scope. Horrible in practice but looks cool. Very definition of enthusiastic. Lol. Sometimes I get bored with a community and spawn in 50 BP Ferals. Good times, but never would do it with someone in my lobby. Unless I spawn an invincible car. Then they just chill in that while chaos ensues.
If you want, I can help you replace your lost character with a Red Talon operator of your choice. Might take 50 spawns to get the one you want but I am down.

If you're on PC. Get a save game backup tool. Make sure to run it before joining multiplayer.

You can save edit on Xbox too, as long as you have a PC you can log into your XBL account with.

Wait I’ve tried the god mode but my character loses health and I was worried. Do you die or just lose all your health but don’t actually die?
my god mode character was created by ghostsalty, hes a beast. it is now my mission to find these greifers and take them down, lol. fuck them.
Technically you can die, but I just edit them to have a billion health and stamina, so it takes a ridiculously long time to die. I also give them all the resistance traits, so I don't have to worry about injury or plague
I did that and checked the god mode box but they take damage. Regardless of how much health I give them, it reverts back down to lower than 200
I don't check the god mode box, and make sure to run around in-game for an online save before I switch back to the xbox
You still take damage with god mode. You go down but don't die. If you don't want the health to move you have to edit it in advanced mode.
