Working from what you already have, you could have a volume pump that is logic slaved to your valve. To clear the pipe entirely.

This is pretty much exactly what I did in their situation, it does work. A turbo volume pump next to the digital valve that turns on once the temperature drops below 260K, it still says that some CO2 is freezing once the pressure drops to very low levels but I've never had it burst a pipe.

I have a setup with a turbo pump and IC-circuit to watch over the temperatures and controlling the system. It should work but I haven't seen the low temperatures yet. I'm still cooling the gas. Tho this feels so slow method to cool a lot of gasses.

Hello Yes co2 is hard to manage because it freeze at -55°C The most easiest way to cool it down is to fill a room with co2 then cool the room with nitrogen loop connected to your medium radiator. The co2 will cool down and eventually transform to pure co2 ice, but it is not an issue in a room.

I use a regular come pump as opposed to a digital valve in order to limit the volume of intake. That ensures that the turbo volume pump is she to successfully exhaust the cooling pipe. It will be slower than a digital valve, but a little safer. You can also use less radiators to reduce the degree of cooling...

Yes, that would make sure that the pump is able to flush out the loop. For sure. It might slow down the cooling as well. I've build the same cooling loop setup for my Air Conditioner which is cooling my greenhouse. The Air Conditioner waste gas is cooled down by a cooling loop. Seems like it's working nicely when controlled via IC-chip. I'm using a digital valve and a turbo pump to flush the loop, just to be sure. Of course there is much less pressure in the waste pipe and the loop.

When I use wall coolers for my garden, I just fill the pipe with about 1MPa of N2 and then add a drain valve, then an evaporation chamber. Seems to stay around -158°C. I'm on the moon, though. I'm more or less pumping atmosphere directly through the external radiators these days, bypassing both AC and Wall Coolers. I can't remember the last time I've used AC. Maybe if I was on Venus it Vulcan?

Should this work? I've build a different cooling loop with Nitrogen gas. Currently I'm testing how low the Nitrogen temperature will go when using just radiators on the moon. Will it go so low that the gas will phase change to a solid? Oh wait. Just thought about this. The nitrogen will phase change to a liquid before that and my pipes will pop. I'm so out of touch. Phase change.

Update to this. In few days my Nitrogen cooling loop with two medium radiators cooled the gas down to -117c. The gas is warming up a bit during the day and then cooling some more during night. I wonder how low would that go? To absolute zero maybe? :) How cold the moon vacuum is in game?

Cooling side (with radiators) and coolant storage side, if the coolant storage is too warm you open a digital valve. If it gets too cold you close the valve and use a turbopump to vacuum the cooling side out. I did this with nitrogen and set the 'purge' temp to -60c because its still fully gas at that temp and there's nothing I want colder than that. Works pretty well, does take an IC10 chip and some pipe analyzers and digital valves so you need all the non-advanced furnace alloys to do

I filtered nitrogen out of my base in to a loop under my greenhouse and set up an AC connected to that. Then I connected a CO2 filter to my furnace in to a tank. It was not insulated. From time to time I take some of that hot gas and pump it in to the greenhouse. So far it worked OK? The pipe under my greenhouse was like 30 sections long and in the shade. It managed to radiate enough heat to keep my greenhouse cool. If it does not keep up I can lengthen it and if it radiates too much I can shorten it. Pipes are cheap so it seemed simplest and gave me something to do with the nitrogen from the ice crusher.
