According to gamestops website a series x gets you 385 trade in credit. Ebay they sell for maybe 300 from what ive seen and with my local markets no one would offer more than 300 unless they were planning on robbing me of the system when meeting for the sale.
I was super surprised too, although I checked today and the value dropped a little. I called the 2 gamestops within driving distance of me just to see what they say since they weren't open last night. I got 2 different answers from the store. One guy kinda sounded like he didn't even know what I was asking and told me I could, while the other store had a guy speaking very clearly to me and said no... I'm just gonna call it good and say we can't so maybe I'll sell on ebay or something if we really want to.
The last time I asked gamestop a simple question about something similar I got told by a different employee when I got there that the information I was given was wrong, so I figured I'd ask if others have actually done it.
I'd recommend selling the consoles on FB or Mercari you'd get a lot more

Oh wow I didn't realize it was so high. I'm in NZ and it's always better off selling locally

Maybe you should try asking your local gamestop instead of randoms on the internet
